Electronic Cigarettes (2 Viewers)

Got one of the "new" V4L Diamond series batteries today, I gotta say its pretty nice. Although Im not a BIG fan of the Diamond LED (Ive been using the old style with the faux grey ash tip), these things hit real smooth, and of course no primer puff needed. I got it in Matte Black, and it has a new Vapor Titan logo with "VT1002" printed underneath it (instead of the old Vapor King" logo). It still has the REGULAR V4L logo on the other side.

So far, so good.

Well, got the email from REO a bit late and missed out on the minis. Crap those things sell out fast. Still making due with my v4l batts. Been over 3 months analog free and I love having the ecig to puff from while roaming around the house. So damn convenient!

I just de-wicked my attys. So far so good. Had a new 306 atty that wouldn't screw on all the way and damaged the outside with some pliers. I hope that doesn't cause problems. I damaged another 306 when I dropped my Reo. It looks like it might still work. The column came off the battery end. I just put it back together. I cleaned it and its firing but didn't get real hot. I hope that's just because it was still wet.
It seems many de-wick right away, but I've been waiting until I detect a burning or metallic taste. Those that I have de-wicked are still working pretty well but there seems to be a slight drop in performance after about 10 days. Every atty is different.
de-wick...you mean like--totally? Seems like that would work more like a mini-tank. I had heard of pulling the wick up a little and was considering it with one of the Cisco LR306's; also have another which might have burned out.
I just pulled the wick out from under the bridge. There is a wick around the coil I don't think you want to remove.
Just tried it with one of mine that wasn't vaping--didn't know what "bridge" you were referring to until grabbing what I could see and yanking it out. Worked!

I just bought another Buzz from Notcigs. EXtrtemely happy with my first one, and feel no need to grope around for another PV, this one rocks my socks. Cinammon roll from V4L ius a winner too.
My brother just bought one too. He has a REO and a Buzz now, and 5 808s. To say he took to this "hobby" would be an understatement. I think he has 105 flavors of juice as well.

I think Im sold on them, my next carto order will be these badboys. Jim, which carto is this one specifically?? Thanks again for the hook up!!!
Glad you like it  The specific ones I have are IKV MEGA KR-808 Cartomizer STD.
Well what the hell. Those are what I ordered, but these are what was sent:http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/4295/iken.jpg

Looking at the site, it looks like the LR's are the ones that fit the V4L batteries:

http://www.ikenvape.com/store/cartomizers/808cartomizers/EMGACRT808LR

and the KR's look like the ones I got (you can see the male end on the bottom one in this pic)

Bahhhh.

Sooo...anyone wanna buy four Ikenvape MEGA KR-808 STD cartomizers like the one you see here:

http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/4295/iken.jpg

brand new, never used...I paid $10.80 shipped, Ill sell em for $8 shipped. Im just gonna stick with V4L carts, Im not gonna mess with sending these back and re-ordering, hoping the ones I get work with my batteries...

** NOTICE they have a MALE end of them, so they dont fit V4L or Bloog style batteries without an adapter.

First one to claim em gets em!
Aren't those 510s? See link to 510's vs. 808's. I think he just mixed up your order.

ehh....I sent an email to Ikenvape at their website...

Ive been assured over at ECF that they did in fact send the wrong cartos, so Im sure itll get taken care of...Im in no hurry, have plenty of cartos to hold me over so Im not sweatin it. :)

So I've decided to stay with the KR808 batteries until the nicotine habit is gone, but I'm still not real happy with the batteries from V4L. I've gotten quite a few bad ones (which they've replaced with no issues) but even the good ones now are starting to fail after 3 months. I don't know if that's a normal lifetime for a battery or not, but I want to know if anyone has another source for these.

I tried the Bloogs, but I simply do not care for the automatics. I've been over to ECF, but it hasn't really helped. Any ideas?

So I'm reading that I probably don't want to use my 24mg juice in this Reo unless I want to induce one of these vapor comas I've heard so much about. Ordered up some 12mg from Alien Visions, and have an 11mg 555 from V4L that I can use until that arrives. Excited about this Reo, but I don't want to overdo it like it seems many tend to.

I guess I'll give my 24 and 36 mg stuff away to the guys still using 808's at work.

I use 24mg juice in my 2.0 Boge cartos when I go out to a bar or a social function. The advantage of cartos is that there is never any juice in the reservoir so you can throw it in your pocket worry-free, and the 24mg nic gives you a really solid throat hit every time, so if you only get a few chances to puff it holds you over almost like a cigarette would. For vaping during leisure time I use 12mg juice. Can vape it all day steadily without any issues. As others have advised in this thread, you should get some LR 2.0 306/510 atties, match them up with your favorite juices, and rely on those for the most part. But consider getting some 510 boge cartos too--I like the difference in the way they hit and they're much more convenient while out and about.

I'm planning to dump the cartos since I can still get a refund on the batteries from V4L. I'm not out and about enough that I need a ton of convenience, but I also don't like the V4L batteries compared to the USB passthrough and would like more convenience than being tethered to a computer or wall outlet. :) Plus I really don't like messing with the cartos like I said. Got myself LR306's in the 1.5/1.8/and 2.0 ohm varieties so I can play around with the resistances a little. That and my batteries will be here today, so I'll be charged and ready to go for the Reo on Monday. And presumably equipped to prevent the infamous vapor coma with my 11mg 555's in hand luckily. :)One thing I will miss slightly about the cartos is the ease of changing flavors. Seems you don't quite get that with the Reo, especially since he was out of bottles and I'll be dealing with 2 of those at least to start. But at this point I've started to really prefer a couple of flavors anyways and am on a 2 flavor rotation right now. So the stuff I'll get rid of won't be missed all that much anyways.

Ok...so Isaac at Ikenvape is sending me the right cartos, and told me to do whatever I want with the ones he sent (the 510's).

So anyone here who wants these cartos, Il send all 4 of them to ya at no charge, just claim em in this thread, and Ill get your shipping info from ya via PM a bit later (Im in the middle of making a huge batch of seafood gumbo at the moment).

Im not sure if these are KR or LR, but they are the MEGA 510 style (pic here: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/4295/iken.jpg).

Are you cleaning them regularly? I have alcohol wipes that I use to get them shiny clean maybe every 2-3 days, thumb nail pressure in the screw threads as I rotate the battery. I toothpick the 3 holes, and then clean the crevace immediately inside the 3 holes in case the toothpick pushed gunk in there. Batties go from sluggish to brand new immediately, not to mention charging much stronger. A thorough cleaning has never failed me yet, although I've only had my batteries 3 months [huh, my 3 month anniversary was Friday]. I wonder if you might try cleaning the threads of your charger also with a qtip and alcohol?

Dr. J - don't be afraid to use the 24 mg in the REO. The whole "vape coma" thing is kind of a joke. It's really just a matter of this : the REO hits so hard and it's so tasty that when you first get it, you tend to hit the MF 600 times an hour. This leads, in some instances, to a mild "nicotine overdose" on day 1 - sweating, mild nausea, that sort of thing. By the second day, you learn the lesson and use it less frequently and fall into a groove like you do with any other PV.

In three days, I am cig free for 3 months. I was a 2 1/2 to 3 pack a day smoker, quit overnight thanks to the aforementioned thread. I tried the gum, the patch etc, etc.... these worked for me. A life changing change in behavior. In time I will lower my nicotine doseage, and quit vaping too, but I'm in no rush.
Saw this in the poll thread--Congrats!! Maybe I'm pushing it some, but I've been planning next order to go ahead and get some low-nic and no-nic bottles to intersperse with the ones I've got (about two-three months worth I think). Figure it would be worth the try just to see where I'm at; it's been surprisingly painless so far, based on a combination of 24's and 18's. I need to get more of what's turned into preferred flavors too--pretty much coffees and caramels.

Reo arrived today. Ummm...yeah. This thing is like the Volcano of personal vaporizers. Wish I would have went this route to start, but dude not having them in stock ever kind of sucked for that. I might end up keeping the 808's anyways though. I can see what you're saying Apple - there's a couple of situations where having the obnoxious box could be socially awkward, so having that as a backup isn't terrible.

Juice from AV arrived today as well. Strawberry Cheesecake, and Flue Cured.

Tried out the Strawberry Cheesecake and the V4L 555's to get a comparison of 90% VG vs 100% PG. The strawberry cheesecake seems especially thick and doesn't like to feed through all that well so it took a little getting used to, but I've gotten a nice system for it. Very mild, but relatively tasty. The PG is super thin - attempted to get it going without the reducer because I don't feel like dealing with that. Getting better, but still haven't mastered the feeding of this quite yet. Have to say, it's pretty apparant after using this juice on the 808 and then using it on the Reo how much flavor the Reo brings out. I wasn't getting all that much of the advertised "nutty" taste on the 808 - but on the 1.8 or 1.5 ohm it's coming through real strong. On 2.0 it tastes like air. Interesting how much different the atty can make for these.

You guys were right. It's impossible to avoid hitting this thing like 600 times this first night as you play around with all of your options. But with all this 12 mg stuff, I've avoided the "coma".

I got a gallon of VG yesterday from P&G. It was a free sample I ordered. If I can get a decent juice I wouldn't mind sharing... free samples for ALL!

Okay. I read the first page when it started and then ignored you guys because I don't smoke. But my brother's bday is coming up and he does so...

Is this a good gift?

Will it inuslt him?

If yes and no then what do I get him? I am clueless.

 With a REO, the only downside to vaping comes from atties or juices, or finding the right combinations of atties and juices. Atties can be fickle and it takes experimentation to find go-to juices. Once you discover the the perfect set-up you're golden.I use 1.5 ohm 306s for pg dominant juices and tobacco flavors (Backwoods Brew or Halo are elite vendors to try for those if you're ever looking for something new). Strictly 2.0 306/510 for sweeter VG. Boba's Bounty and Gorilla Juice from Alien Visions are the only VG juices I use, but I use a ton of it. Welcome to the REO club! I have yet to see someone disappointed with the device.

Smokeless image volt has been compared to Bloog and is much less expensive. If you look at their PCC it's exactly the same. Get him a starter kit from there. I think that's where I'd go right now if I was going to get started or get someone a gift. They have a basic kit for $30, but younprobably want to get him two batteries so I'd go for the Volt standard kit for $44.

Has he ever shown a desire to quit? If so, he's likely to love you for it (check out post #1609 for another excellent starter kit suggestion). However, it's quite possible that he has no desire to quit, and in that case may view your "gift" as an insult. You know him better than we do.Other than that, I got nothing, sorry...

He has a wussy desire to quit. He's not into any pain and suffering. He is seriously addicted and would blaze through two packs a day if not for the cost. I'm willing to invest as much as $200 on the theory the better the more likely, so let me know if that makes a difference. Thanks for the leads guys.

About 60 bucks for a Bloog MaxxFusion starter kit and you make it as about as painless as possible for him. I'm proof of that.

I don't know how I would have reacted if my sister or brother had bought me one blind--though I do know I'd have understood that they did so because they cared. Probably wouldn't have been "insulted", but might not have gotten into it the same. Whether or not you go that route I would definitely point him to this thread--after the first couple pages I was inspired, and going into it totally convinced that it was going to work was key. Compared to the "well--it's worth a try" attitude when I used the patch or pills or such that difference was Huge. I've been pleased with the Joye eGo-T from VaporPro, especially when I got the LR atomizers. That's the extent of my experience though so others can speak to the choices better than I can. There's a bunch of 'em!

Thanks. Is that better than the REO so loved on this page? What about supplying him with a bunch of flavored juices. I watched reo mod videos looking for information. This stuff is dangerous. I could see me starting... haha

I don't know about "better" but what I described above is about the simplest way one can get into this thing. You take the batteries out of the box, charge it up on the charger for a little bit, screw in one of the cartridges that come in the kit and start vaping. I haven't tried any of these other techniques that most of this thread is about but that's because I'm lazy and an idiot. The Bloog kit and refills are for stupids like me.

Well he is pretty friggin' stupid so unless talked out of it the Bloog kit it is. I'm happy to stock him up a little at that price. Any suggestions. He likes sweets. Pack of smokes and a box of doughnuts and he's good for the day.

You only get a 5-pack of a single flavor in the starter kit (which should last him 7-10 days, BTW). Coffee flavor isn't a bad way to get going. That's still a regular part of my re-orders.

Yeah, I would recommend that a gift for someone who is just starting out should go with either the V4L or Bloog starter kits. These are very similar in size and looks to a traditional cigarette. They're simple enough to not discourage a noob, yet mimic smoking incredibly well. The REO and other mods discussed in this thread are for those who are looking for more from their vaping experience. Something he really needs to figure out for himself...As far as the cartos/flavor selections, get several sampler packs in varying nicotine levels. He can then not only identify the flavors he likes but also the nico strength that "does it" for him.

Chances are I'm lazier and more idiotic than anybody in this thread. It took a lot of trial and error and killing time at work reading message boards to acquire the knowledge. I'd have been floundering even more than I was without the advice of the vets in this thread. Upgrading to a mod also requires a considerable investment. The Bloog and V4L kids absolutely work, and my guess is they are a more effective way of dropping the habit at a reasonable price. If I didn't enjoy vaping as much as I do and didn't become sort of fanatical about it, I'd be using my V4L kit still, wouldn't be smoking at all, and would be perfectly content.

Okay. I read the first page when it started and then ignored you guys because I don't smoke. But my brother's bday is coming up and he does so...Is this a good gift? Will it inuslt him?If yes and no then what do I get him? I am clueless.

:goodposting: There are probably ways to give it without insulting. Aside from insult, could be awkward if he is thinking his use/non use of your gift might come up every time he lights up in front of you. If you know him and think it might help him, just go for it and pull him aside and say you just want to give him an opportunity, and you promise never to judge his use or non use. I always recommend V4L manual XL battery. If he'd be 2 PAD smoker definitely go with 24 mg nic juice whatever direction you go. No sense getting that guy juice at lower levels, he'll give up after 15 minutes. Give him juice that brings the noise.

Yeah, I'd go a 5-pack tobacco sampler, 5 pack coffee sampler, 5 pack fruit sampler. The more samples you get him, the more likely he is to find one he reallly enjoys.

I got a gallon of VG yesterday from P&G. It was a free sample I ordered. If I can get a decent juice I wouldn't mind sharing... free samples for ALL!
Awesome! Interested to see how this all goes. :)

why is the marketing for bloog and v4l so girly? My bro is 59 and will despise those websites. He smokes Marlboro. He is Marlboro. I need a brown e cig that looks like a cigar.

As far as insulting him, I never should have mentioned it. I tell him he smells like an ashtray all the time.

Yeah, the websites need a little work. I actually liked the older Bloog website. Anyway, once he tried these, and he may resist, he'll love it. Try getting a black one, those look cool. Once he realizes the convenience of it you'll win him over. This past weekend all I had was my v4l batt and a couple of cartos and I was as happy as could be while my buddy had to keep battling with the wind and his lighter to keep lighting up. It's so much better. After doing this for a few months I just kind of snicker in my head when I hear people who want an e-cig that tastes like a regular cig. That's like saying I want a coke that tastes like burnt twigs. But it seems everyone wants that at first, including me.

Hey gents, ditto on getting a newbie a starter kit from V4L or Bloog. Got my second Buzz from notcigs, and despite the raves about other juice suppliers, I've stuck with V4 L. My faves are any peanut, mocha or frappe flaves. I'll stick with the broad I came to the dance with, I'm happy enuff.

I'm still vaping 36. I'm in no rush to drop it, being a 3 packer a day, I still get physical withdrawal symptoms if I don't sneak a few vapes in every hour or so. Got my first nicotine buzz the other day after not having vaped for near two hours. That was a first. Nice buzz, I must say. Made me a happy camper! LOL... it was enjoyable! Maybe that is a sign I'm ready to reduce my nic levels.

Man, I can smell chit I never smelled before, I think I'm half blood hound now. I can smell guys tarring a roof from a mile away. Dog poop has a new power of puke smell. Upside is food tastes better. Downside... I now have to do my laundry more often, I can smell that chit now. Ick.

You guys ever watch the reviews on YouTube? Some are simply a person taking a drag and then giving the thumbs up. Not sure why they bother. Others are pretty informative though.

Still vaping the regular starter batteries I have and am fine with them. Just ordered 2 Bloog batts (lost one on the golf course) and some flavors from Tasty Vapor. It think they were Piña Colda, Cafe Mocha and Waffle. Looking forward to Waffle especially.
