Agree on the Ikenvapes. I found at first they were great, but like you said, the capacity seems to be all or nothing. Seemed like I had to top off with about 10 drops way too frequently, even though it was about 3/4 full. Strange.

The double coils sound interesting. Almost makes me wanna order them and figure out a way to get em to work with the 808s lol

Then theres Bloog...just as I was singing their praises the other day, Im finding a few things I DONT like. 1) the cap seems to fall out quite a bit unless I push it down to almost flush, and that defeats the point of the easily removable caps. Theyre almost TOO easily removed. Lost one already. Also, fresh new carts are awesome, but the throat hit seemed to drop off quick, like after maybe 10 hits or so, and before a refill or top off. Topping off hasnt helped. Also I noticed the filler in my first cart turned pretty dark (less than 24 hrs) and theres a slight off taste even though I never let the cart anywhere near dry. My juice is a light straw color green apple juice from BWB...I know sweet juice gunks up filler, but this was a little quick. Blew the juice out before a refill and it helped with taste but not TH. I DID use the first cart on a passthru for a bit so maybe thats why. Overall theyre good, but now Im not sure if theyre worth the extra money over V4L carts...will know more in a few days.

This is the biggest problem my wife and I have with the MaxxFusion carts. And unfortunately our beagle pup just keeps eating every on that hits the floor.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna go ahead and buy some Bloogs and see if there is a difference. Were using all Bloog cartos anyway so that may help in itself.

After a massive cleaning effort didn't help I'm down to one fully functional V4L battery. Some just kicked the bucket after a good 4 month run, some have become too tight to pull, some I've dropped, and some are intermittent at best. I'm trying the bloogs too. I'm also looking for an alternative to the Ikenvape cartos. I still think they are leaps and bounds better than the prefilled, but I notice that after the first fill they require constant adding of juice to keep them going strong...I add about 5 drops every night to my active cartos. Too many and they puddle and leak, but if I don't the vapor is nonexistent. Even though it holds 50 drops, the effective volume seems to be only 5-10 drops. Anyone tried a clearomizer?

I went the massive cleaning route about two weeks ago. Had about seven V4L auto batteries that had died for various reasons. I cleaned them all very well with alcohol and a toothbrush. I took a straight pin and cleaned out all the small holes and around the edge of each post. I used the straight pin to adjust the post back up slightly on the ones where the atomizer was no longer making contact. Managed to get 4 of them working and was really happy, but within the next couple of hours all of them went bad again. Funny thing is I noticed that the only really old batteries that still work are the 2 manual batteries I bought in March. They appear to be indestructible. I'm not crazy about using them but I never leave home without one, because I know they will work.

Agree on Iken... had a brief love affair with them but found they started to work against me after 2-3 refills, and while I tried to top them off, the inhale got gradually more difficult to the point it was more work than it was worth. Refilling only worsened them at that point and it was like pouring good juice into a black hole. Tried cleaning them out and didn't have much success du to their size (I've had marginal success even cleaning smaller V4L carts). I think they are a great $1.95 for a one night stand but I've been refilling and it is not worth using them in my routine. I think you have to look at Ikens as truly disposable, and enjoy it while it lasts.On Bloog, yes I noticed that the caps came off super easy but I'd gotten one in trade from Trogg and used it over and over again with Cafe Mocha 24 without much let down... never cleaned it and refilled for 3 weeks straight. You could be right that PT use did something... that power fries my carts real quick.

If by "normal", you mean carts filled with PG-based juice, VG juices are thicker and typically provide increased vapor production, while sometimes sacrificing a little throat hit. I find PG juices work better in cartomizers, while VG juices work better in my REO Grand mod.

I've never used them but I've heard that Smokeless Image makes an identical Bloog battery and cartomizer. They cost less and shipping is less.Smokeless Image

Ikenvape makes really great atomizers. I really love their new i06 atomizer. Its a re-designed 306 atomizer. Their cartomizers are good, but I wouldn't say they are great. Since I really only use 510 connection, I get the standard (3 ohm) Boge cartomizers for my 5 volt box mod. Boge makes probably the best cartomizer. They make an 808 cartomizer, but I've never used them for an 808.

You can get the boge 808's at Avid Vaper. I would probably go with those at 2.0 ohm. It really helps those small batteries get a good hot vapor. I've never used the V4L batteries at Low Resistance so you might want to make sure they can handle 2 ohm cartomizer.

I've had one hooked up to my computer for almost 7 months and yesterday, right after I took a drag, I got the dreaded blue screen.

My computer can no longer find an operating system. Does anyone think it's possible the pass-through did something harmful?

I hope you other folks have been able to stick with it. I'm still addicted to vaping and nicotine, but, life is MUCH less expensive, and I'm FAR healthier.

I think you fried yer comp.... a new power supply board might be needed.

It's the first I've heard of a V4L carto generating the wattage needed to overheat a computer. I've only heard of issues with use of low resistance (LR) cartos. Let us know if you uncover anything on this.

Half of what I've got left is 0-nic, along with a half bottle of 6 and just a few more tankfuls of 18. If you like the flavor you won't miss the nicotine. I've just passed 5 months myself and the way I keep misplacing the things figure after the remaining juice I'll try to drop it pretty much completely. Went through three days without a charger, last weekend, and finally on the third day just played with the ecig unlit. Picked up some dumdums the other day and next time that happens I'll try those instead!eta--I actually have been randomly bouncing back and forth between 0-nic and various strengths without regard for a couple months.

Finally got my hands on some Boba's - they kept being out and stuff every time I would order. At first I though decent. But after a week, this stuff is ruining my other juices. It's really danged good.

Was nice to be able to vape at the Bears game last week. With the Illinois Clean Air Act or whatever you can't smoke in the stadium. First security guard gave me a bit of a hard time, but ultimately didn't do anything other than talk some crap and suggest other people would give me one of the warning cards for it. Didn't let that deter me - and went down to enjoy a vape at half time. Going back to me seats and I get a tap on the shoulder - guard was like "was that a vapor cigarette"? Acknowledged it was and he let me go on my way. We'll see how long this holds up - but without any statute or policy in place I don't think there's much they can do.

A store just opened down the street from me called "Just Vape". I couldn't believe it! I went down there but they were closed (2pm on a Sat? That's odd). Anyway I looked in and there seems to be hardly anything in the store. Looking forward to checking it out but I'm guessing I'll still find better deals/juices online. I can't see how there will be enough foot traffic to keep this store open.

Well, I don't know what caused it, but the hard drive did indeed die. It cannot be repaired and all the information is gone forever. It is a work computer so I'm probably not going to mention what I think could have been the cause and just let it lie. But I've never had a computer just up and die on me before, though I know it happens.

Just seems like an odd practice to auto-sub with that 36 nic level with a mailed note, particularly since they have my email address. I've tried 36 and just can't use something that strong. Should I feel guilty asking for an exchange on a $9.95 item?

There is chargers, atomizers, batteries, liquids and other various parts I have no clue about. Can someone maybe point me in the right direction for a good "starter kit", good brands and brands to stay away from, maybe a few tips from you seasoned e-cig users I should be aware of. I smoke marlboro lights...about 1/2-3/4 pack a day. I quit about 1 year ago for 2.5 months and had 1 puff of a cig while drinking with my buddies and it was quickly back to square 1. Worst decision of my life to pick up a smoke and its time I do something about it. Any info to help me get started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think the easiest gateway is the starter kit from www.vapor4life.com. Grab the Ultimate Starter Kit for $70, or the Ultimate Ultimatum for $100, and then add some custom flavored cartridges. I would recommend starting out at either 24mg or 18mg.Personally, I use the auto batteries, but I know many here prefer the manual.

You'll want 1-2 cartridges per day (at least I do, but I vape continuously).

That's the easiest way to get started, and while you make the transition, read through this whole thread (it's worth the time), and also check out the e-cig forum for tons more info.

Just noticed there is another option for those who are curious about the technology but want to test it out before dropping $ on a full starter kit. V4L now has a "mini USB pass through" kit which only has the USB and a single 5-pack of cartomizers for $27.50. Obviously you'd need a computer to use the USB but it is a low cost way of trying the product out, and having an extra USB pass through if you decide to get the full starter kit later (many starter kits come with one). For simplicity's sake, please consider Bloog's MaxxFusion starter kit as well. I'm an idiot and can't follow half the conversations in this thread but even I can order up a couple of atomizers, a recharger and some cartridges from Bloog. Should get in under $75. Don't worry about that other stuff until later.

I checked out vapor4life and the one roadkill mentioned and decided to go for the vapor4life one due to the 27% off special. I got the 69.99 starter kit and ordered two more cartridges to go along with it, so all together I got 3 cartridges because of the free one sent with my starter kit. i think that should be enough for a little while. I read 1 cartridge is equal to 15-20 cigarettes, don't know if that's true but that's how I determined how many to order. I got a coffee flavor, tobacco flavor and fruity sample pack. It came out to 85+ dollars I think but after the discount down to $72 with shipping. Here is the first step to cigarette free living. I will update my progress in this thread and hopefully it will have a positive outcome. Now I'm off to have a smoke....Again thanks for the replies
