Eli Manning (1 Viewer)

What gives? :football:

One week he has the yards, the next he has 150 and 3 TD, hes just inconsistent fantasy wise, whats everyone elses thoughts? Is it because the Giants run the ball?

Shooting myself in the foot for taking him this year

I also drafted Eli as my QB1 & started having doubts after the Colts game. I bet his end of year numbers look like 2009's, but you're right about 3 TDs one game & nothing the next. I fear his inconsistency will keep him from being a QB1, his weekly floor is just too low with no running game. I'm hoping the rain had at least something to with his horrible game last night.

I traded for Orton 2 weeks ago, & I may not start Eli again except to cover his bye.

Gomer Manning is what he is. NY homers on Big Blue Interactive seem to think Gilbride is an issue and he could be.

There aren't too many consistent QBs out there which aren't total FF studs. Manning is a #7-12 QB and his year will average out that way. I don't think many people were picking him as a top 5 FF QB.

Did anyone else hear them say that he has 6 INTS so far this year and that 5 were tipped/deflected by his WRs?

Depending on how your league treats INTs, he's actually been OK scoring wise until last night. When the TDs haven't been there, the yards have, and vice versa.

His next two games are @ HOU and home vs DET. I'm not going to panic on Eli yet.

Yep and I can see why. Sometimes he just stares down where he is going to throw it. Urlacher tipped one last night because he locked on to his 1st read. Lucky that wasn't tipped.

You get what you pay for. If Manning is your QB it's because you drafted the position late. Therefore, you're gambling.

A preseason highly ranked QB is one of the safest bets in FF, but guys don't want to pay early picks for them. Got to take the bad with the good owning Eli.

I have Manning and Ryan.. what a headache it has been trying to decide which one to go with each week.. thinking of dealing one for Orton but not sure which one.

I drafted Eli as my #1, but lucked out and got Orton as my #2. I started Manning in week one, but have been with Orton since that point. I am considering starting Manning next week though, since he has a good matchup and Orton is playing the Ravens.

Tipped balls, penalties (roughing) & fumbles are killing drives.

Kevin Boss looks afraid of the ball since his concussion...I counted 3 3rd down passes over the middle that he didn't reach out for that he should have ebeen able to catch.

Eli is playing fine from the games I've seen. His receivers seem to not be doing him any favors. That and some very odd playcalling.

This. They keep chucking it though, so the #s should come if his receivers stop handing the ball to the other team so much. This was his first truly bad game in the scoring system that I own him in, so hopefully it's just a blip on the radar. I think he'll be fine, but I wasn't expecting him to be top 5.

I think Eli owners should see a payoff the next couple of weeks against some very soft D's. Likewise the Eagles D doesn't scare me much, Redskins look pretty weak, and Dallas has been underwhelming. I like his schedule the rest of the way out...

On at least 2 (probably 3) of those I'd put the blame more on Eli than the receiver. Even if the WR has his fingers on the ball, if its thrown way behind that receiver, I put the blame on the passer.

:goodposting: I thought he was going to put up good enough numbers that I can wait late and that's what I did - now I have to carry an extra QB becasue my back up isnt strong and may have to play it out week by week. You would think with those WR's he would be a shoe in for 4000+ and 25 TD's and still may hit that, but the trunovers are killers.

Expect a massive game out of him next week vs the historically awful Houston Texans pass D. Hawks will be selling after this game.

As an Orton owner, that wouldn't get it done. Orton is literally leading the league in passing on a throw heavy offense. For somebody to take Kyle Orton from my team, it has to be a great trade. Eli + 2RB and you might have a shot.

Eli has never been an accurate passer, like say, his older brother. He needs guys like Nicks and Plex, who can "go get it".

He and Steve Smith have been out of sync all year, with Eli under throwing or missing him over the middle.

Not sure what the exact problem is, but the O line isn't helping. He's having to take shorter drops.

Detroit's secondary cures all QB ills.
The Texans secondary is giving up about 94 more yards per game than the Lions.
Lions haven't faced Peyton Manning, and Rodgers barely had to throw it to win in a short week for GB. Both D's have given up 8 TD's through the air. I'm just saying there's no reason to sell him BEFORE the Lions game.... ride him the next 2 games.

Im not too worried about Eli overall, but I was targetting Stafford and Alex Smith as my QB2 in every league I got Eli in (which is most) and that has killed me as much as Eli's inconsistency has. If I had a QB2 I could trust, Eli wouldnt have been in a couple of my starting lineups last night vs CHI
