How would you define "enemy?" A nation state that is a threat to the U.S. militarily, ideologically and culturally? Is one of those enough to vote yes? Or would it have to be all those and maybe a few more? Like economically, etc.

:shrug:Take countries like Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, some people might consider those countries enemies of the US and others might consider them an ally.

Military threats:

Iran

Iraq in the coming years

China

Pakistan

Russia

North Korea

Maybe Venezuela

Ideological threats:

Pakistan

North Korea

Iran

Maybe Venezuela

Maybe Cuba

Afghanistan has the potential

Syria

Egypt

Cultural threats:

Iran

Pakistan

Saudi Arabia

Canada

North Korea

Maybe Iraq

Economically:

China

Venezuela (control of western hemisphere oil)

India

Russia

Saudi Arabia

Maybe S. Korea

So I'll vote Iran and North Korea. Biggest potential threats are China, Pakistan and Russia. None of them are our enemy per say, put Pakistan could turn quickly and China and Russia should not be discounted in entering future conflicts on the opposite end of the seesaw. I would enter the EU but unless one or more of the countries became unstable, I only see them as a moderate economic threat. But if Europe is making money, we probably are, too.

Why do you consider China an economic threat but if the EU is making money so are we?

Because a small country in Africa can afford Chinese parts, but cant afford European parts. China's potential economic ceiling is a lot higher than the EU's and we are just seeing the beginning of their prowess. China would still need U.S. shoppers, but they can sell their swag just about anywhere.

I voted none. I don't think its necessary that any of these countries be our enemy. The choice is theirs, not ours. That being said, the world would be a much better place if certain regimes did not exist.

I am not too worried about enemies of the United States. Obama is keeping a very close eye on them. He has appointed them to his cabinet.

Playboys?

 I'd add radicals to that list.

I voted other. The other options, the nation-states, are 20th century answers to a 21st century question. Our greatest threat is, and has been for the past twenty years, Islamic terrorist groups. Even though they might not have the resources of some of the listed nations they are a greater threat because they're more difficult to eradicate due to their multi-national nature, they can more covertly infiltrate foreign nations, and the impetus for their anti-American/anti-Christian sentiment isn't going away anytime soon.
