Entry Fee (1 Viewer)

Not that I'm any kind of $$$ league snob, but I do believe any league worth its salt has to have an entry fee high enough to guarantee a certain commitment level by the owners.

My 2 leagues (redraft and keeper) have a $300 entrance fee apiece (100% payout minus Sportsline fee), and it's been at that level since 1997. Maybe it's this area (NYC), but we've never had any hesitance about the cost -- and most owners were in their early-to-mid 20s when the leagues started (and most are in both leagues, so it's a $600 commitment).

The Money makes the competition level that much better... I take all FF leagues seriously.. but on Sundays, I'm watching the stat tracker of my $$$$$ leagues.

Now if your throwing $150 and only 70 to 80% is being thrown back to the league; thats a problem. Don't get me wrong, commishing a league takes some work and time and every commish should be thrown a couple of bones (about half of the Commish's entry should be paid with the spare $$); but I don't want to pay the guys full entry and his kid's college loan either.

P.S. I like $$ leagues a lot better
i have been running leagues for 10 years and have never taken a dime for doing it. You can appoint someone the co commissioner to help you some of your duties like entering rosters if it is a in person redraft. Once the season starts I find the league runs it self.I do it because I know it will be done right
 Thats why I always run mine
