Sold on Mario. Andy, your suggestions are very interesting too, but we're going with prevailing opinion here. I also read the Jets rate Cutler higher than Leinart. It was a solid article from a NY insider/beat writer.

On the clock: Green Bay

Hawk? Seems like a no brainer to me.

Vernon Davis intrigues me here. Someone shot me down on that because GB has three TEs on the roster. They're all about as uninspiring as TEs go and Davis is a freak.

Doesn't surprise me. Cutler seems like a QB who will fit more NFL offenses. Leinart is very good, but he needs an offense suited to his strengths.

I thought about VD, but I can't imagine the Packers passing on a defensive player of Hawk's ability. Tough call for the Pack though and a win/win either way.

Packers = Hawk

No brainer. Which is a good situation for the Packers.

Regarding the Jets - Cutler + Wimbley/Kiwanuka > Edwards + ???

Edwards + Mangold??
And then they have to choose between Pennington and Ramsey at QB?I just think there's a bunch of good DE's this year that they can get late 1st/early 2nd.

Vernon Davis to the Niners.

ON THE CLOCK Raiders

Tough call. I listened to the Chief of personnel say no 1st round QB at the Combine. Has that changed?

For grins, let's say he's not lying. (I think they are and the pick would be Young.) But in this case I say:Michael Huff. The Raiders secondary sucks hard and Huff would improve that.

I'm going with my gut here and saying Huff as well. It's a major need for the Raiders and Huff is a special player.

I do like Huff to the raiders, but what about Ngata

that is a major need and this is a special player

i could easily see Ngata in the sliver and Black

Actually, I like Ngata here better than Huff. Good call, s_ezy.They can get a better DB with their #2 than DL with thier #2.

Remember the last fat, lazy DT for the Raiders?

No. But I do remember the last overrated defensive back. ;)

Instead of Ngata (who, I've heard from some sources, has a questionable motor), what about Broderick Bunkley? Another space eater in the middle, but with fewer questions.

I've had Ngata here in all my mocks, so you guys are making me happy with this one.

I'll finish the Raiders then be gone for just over an hour...

He's rising, but I can't see that high.

Ngata showed off a six pack at 340 pounds at the Combine. Dude is NOT fat.

Being a Raider fan and living in Eugene, OR (Home of the Ducks) I have seen Ngata play alot, and he is the real deal. With the Raiders losing Washington, Ngata would be a perfect fit here, and definitely fill a need. Secondly I can see them taking Huff as well, because their secondary was a major weakness last year.

What defense are the Raiders running now? When they switched to the 3-4 it was a bad fit for Sapp and I thought they switched back to the 4-3. Ngata is perfected suited for the 3-4 but I don't see him as dominant in the 4-3 since it involved other responsibilities. Roughly speaking, a 4-3 DT is expected to get pressure on the QB while the 3-4 NT has mainly focused on run support with two-gap responsibility.

i do not have a link, but i recall Ngata saying that he prefered to play DT in a 4-3 D

You're right:http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news_room/n...rts/5153.0.html

While he said he prefers playing in a 4-3, as he did at Oregon, he said he's accustomed to being double-teamed and is being looked at heavily in the NFL as a nose tackle.
This is why I like him at 3-4 NT better than 4-3 DT:
The big man isn't much of a sack artist but knows how to play his role as a plug in the middle.

"I'm not bad at pass rushing," Ngata said. "I have a lot of upside at rushing the passer. I'm quick, but I need to work on balancing the way rush the passer because I sometimes miss tackles."

Justice or Bunkley for the Bills.

Of course, being a Pats fan, I'd like to see them draft this season's version of Ryan Leaf or Maurice Clarett.

:P

ON THE CLOCK Buffalo Bills

Discuss...
Winston Justice.
Agreed.
With an outside chance of Jay Cutler. They are NOT enamored with Losman and Holcomb isn't the long term answer.
Can I get any support on Jay Cutler? Seriously, they can address the tackle spot in the 2nd with someone like Jon Scott (maybe still there), or any one of Eric Winston, Ryan O'Callaghan, Daryn Colledge, Andrew Whitworth, or Jeremy Trueblood.Edit: Ahh. Nevermind. I forgot they just acquired Craig Nall. They seem like they'll make up their mind between those three.

Do Kitna, McCown and Martz rule out a franchise QB signing?
I'm surprised that they brought in McCown, but that to me seems to say that they'll shy away from taking a QB. I say Huff.

Can the QB's really fall this far?

Huff it is... I think someone will gamble on Young earlier than this, but who knows. Cutler is the better candidate for a longer slide, imo.

Arizona Cardinals

We've really messed them up here, and with Edge in town, this is tough one. If Denny likes one of the OTs, he'll take him. There was a time not long ago when McNeill and Winston graded this high. They have both been impressive this offseason. McNeill's combine was almost freakish and not talked about much. His back has checked out fine according to the only reports I've heard.

Arizona Cardinals
I'm not sure here. They've acquired a starter at guard and seem content that their line has improved. Any chance they go linebacker like Greenway.

Or how about reaching a bit for Leonard Pope? Their red zone offense was the worst in the league, BY FAR, last year.

My pick here is Young, btw...
Even after signing Warner to a 3 year deal? I now that could be flushed at any time, but Denny needs to win NOW.Edit: Or did he just sign and extension? I forget.

Denny loved Daunte. Vince is similar. McCown is gone. Warner is... what he is...

I can be overruled, but it's Vince 1, and reaches for Pope or Greenway 1/2 each...

You really don't like Young here, eh?

Okay, further discussion FBGers!

Bunkley and Dockett are buds. It would be a nice interior. Explosive.

All 31 teams were represented at Texas' Pro Day, BUT the Raiders...
