If this goes anywhere, I'd argue its for the better to be a foreign rather than domestic terrorist. Obviously the best case is no terrorist, but our country is on edge enough without bringing political violence into the calculation. Here's hoping I was wrong with my initial guess.

If you look at Obama's speech in the Rose Garden commemorating the attacks of 9/11/01 he used the word "terror" once, the word "terrorism" not at all. This was of course just days after the attack on the consulate in Libya as well.

I don't know, it seems like it's preferable if it does not exist, maybe it's an issue with the base, maybe they're worried about their security bona fides, no way to tell.
