Faceoff Article I want to see: (1 Viewer)

I love the faceoff articles because of the point-counterpoint viewpoints they provide. There has obviously been a ton of discussion on these boards regarding the battle between Tomlinson and Johnson for the #1 overall pick in fantasy drafts. I'd like to see an article that pulls all of this information together. Redraft? Keeper? Dynasty? I don't care, somebody please just faceoff on this. Thank you.

Just a guess Frodo, but I'm sure at some point FBG will put out a face-off with "Who is your number 1 FF RB" and LJ, Tomlinson and Alexander will all be on there.

Here's how Johnson has done in his last 16 games with 10 or more carries

I'm guessing LT doesn't touch that total, but since LJ hasn't done that in a whole season yet it's easy to say he won't do it.

I'd like to see one as well, and I'm sure we will before season start. The main thing I'm concerned with is the inexperience of Rivers in the O. Although it prob doesn't matter, I know there's a different type hand-off lefty's make. I'm sure LT will get used to it quickly, but the problem lies with Rivers. Having little real game type experience makes me worry of him, and those who are around him.

So, SA is still not getting the respect he deserves after his monster year last year.
I think all three divisional teams the Seahawks play will be significantly improved. Meaning, Seattle isn't going to be giving the ball the SA three times from within the 10 every time.Plus, it's not unreasonable to favor LJ over SA in terms of TD production. LJ was certainly a monster.

Plus, it's still LT. He was injured for a good part of last year - playing at only partial effectiveness. With the new QB in town, I think his value goes up in PPR leagues thanks to dump off passes.

I would love to see this also.

My choice would be LT because he has been the top ranked back the last few years. While LJ was amazing last year this is he first year ranked as a top FF RB; hence the safer choice is going to be LT regardless if PPR or not (incidentally I do think in a PPR league LT is even more heavily favored.)

here is some good discussion on this topic. I still surprised that this topic didn't get more discussion, but the discussion that did take place is pretty good.

#1 disussion b

I too would love to see the FBG opinion. I still lean toward LJ but lack of experience is a big concern for me. I hope he is not this years Kevin Jones.

No WAY he has a Kevin Jones type year.Worst case scenario IMO (barring injury of course, knock on wood) is that he comes down to earth and instead of posting 1700/20 with 40/450 he instead posts 1300/11 with 30/300

If you want to see what FBGs think, look at the rankings. Comparing LT and LJ in a faceoff only serves lees than 5% of FBG subscribers. Those benefittng are the ones who have the #1 overall pick in a redraft or new dynasty draft. Noone else has a shot at them at all. I'd rather see face-offs regarding some close calls other than this.

I think it is an interesting topic, when was the last time we had a serious debate about who to take #1 overall; maybe Edge or Faulk a few years ago.

Priest v. Tomlinson was very close in '04, although most people took Priest.Tomlinson v. Ricky Williams was dead even in '03.

Priest was the unquestionable #1 in 2004 in my book.In 2003 I had LT #1 but Ricky was close.
