Fanball Playof Format (1 Viewer)

The fanball playoff format is causing a stir in one of my dynasty leagues. This is a 12 team league where 6 teams make the playoffs, and the top two seeds get a bye. There are 3 divisions. One of the division winners plays in the worst division, and he only made the playoffs because he won it with a 7-6 record. However, the other 5 teams have better records than him (well, one guy is also at 7-6 but won the H2H matchup).

Should the winner of the sorry division automatically give him a higher seed, which also gives him an easier path to the Super Bowl?

Your league's rules -not fanball's. Fanball has NOTHING to do with it except some kind of default playoff seeding. If you have no rule and you default to fanball's playoff seeding, then you have already made the decision and leave it as is.For what it is worth, we do 6 of 12 go as well and we have three divisions - division winners get seeded 1-3 based on records then tiebreaker of H2H, then overall points. The best and second best division winners get first round byes, the third worst division winner plays in the first round. Th e#3 plays the #6 seed, which is the team with the most overall points that is not otherwise in the playoffs, regardless of record. The two wild card teams based on record (the #4 and #5 seeds) play each other in round one. In round two, the loweest seeded remaining team plays #1 and the other plays #2.Tiebreakers for playoff seeding is H2H then overall points.

I agree with Mr. Levin. This is something that your league needs to address... it is not an issue caused by Fanball.

I commish a keeper league at Fanball and feel the playoff setup is very customizable to meet most any needs...

I love how fanball puts the playoff grids there! All division winners should always make the playoffs. I believe they should get the top 3 seeds as well.

I'm trying to find the grid at the moment, where is it? :cry:Or is this just for the commish?

Just because you're 7-6, that doesn't mean you play in the "worst" division. If anything, it means you had the toughest competition.

I'm the commish in Fanball. We have to set ours up custom because:

1. All teams have matchups throughout the playoffs - no one is eliminated.

2. Instead of the two division winners getting a true bye in week one of the playoffs, they play each other for five points in the event they meet again in the Superbowl.

Point being, the commish makes the setup however he wants it.
