Fanduel - Week 3 Picks (1 Viewer)

Mad props to Fantasygurugod for having Brown and Barden starting for the Footballguys Fanduel Championships.

I think he is the only one out of 184 entries to have selected Barden. Well done.

Thanks for the tips guys. Waded in for real money for the first time this week. Played most of the guys listed in this and invested heavy in Bennett and Brown in my early leagues.
Where did you put the $? And how much? (just curious)

Very happy I avoided Cruz. I have made money off Cruz in the first two weeks because he's breaking bank with .5 points per catch. I assumed Carolina would take that away but I was too afraid to search for secondary passing options from the Giants.

Sorry, man. I meant which types of contests are you playing (mostly)? The 50/50's, $5-$10 games?

$1 to $5 50/50 based on the recommendations here. Since I'm basically 0 for 6 in breaking the 50% threshold in the freerolls, I figured I better start off cheaply.

I think TE Kyle Rudolph could be a good value play this week ($5100 in a 60k). SF has given up TD to a TE in both games this year (Finley and Pettigrew), and Ponder likes him. Ponder also leads the NFL in completion percentage so far.

Rudolph was targeted 7 times in week one, 2nd on the team (5 catches for 67yds), and 3rd on the team week 2 (5 targets, 3 catches for 35 and a TD)

I think Ponder looks his way all day Sunday, and he finishes with around 6 for 60+ with a TD

aside from reversing time and adding barden, you are probably in the best position you can be in at this point. as long as a popular player like trent or spiller do not put up 30 again, you should place very high

60K 50/50, 10$ entry fee

Flacco - the clear value play at QB this week

Murray - Could have one of those 200 yard games this week

Spiller - On the fence here, might go Rice and cut salary elsewhere

Austin - expecting big Dallas production

Wayne - helped me win the first two weeks

Marshall - expecting huge bounce back

Graham - it was him or Gronk

Janikowski - Love me some seabass against Pittsburgh D

Eagles D - Sacks and Picks galore

this is my initial lean for the 60K in the 50/50s

I realize Michael Bush is en vogue this week. I think he is safe but with limited upside.

One of my lineups:

$60K

QB Tony Romo - Faces TB who is yielding 407 passing yards and 2 passing TDs per game. The game is in Dallas.

RB Trent Richardson - Cleveland can't pass so will run Richardson a lot

RB DeMarco Murray - I expect a blowout and he will get a lot of 4th quarter work

WR Brandon Marshall - They get St. Louis at home. I expect Marshall to bounce back.

WR AJ Green - They face a Washington pass defense that has yielded 323 passing yards and 3 TDs per contest. And that was before losing Orakpo and Carriker.

WR Dez Bryant - All in on the Dallas vs Tampa Bay game in Dallas

TE Jason Witten - More here. Expecting huge production on all things Dallas. Witten is ready to return to the player he has always been.

PK Dan Bailey - Same vein with Dallas. Blowout should get lots of extra points and some FGs late

Def Chicago - Should stifle the Rams at home.

I will be posting this subscription article every Saturday to help break things down a bit:

http://subscribers.footballguys.com/2012/12crackingfanduel3.php

I also will be creating a value chart each Saturday as well:

http://subscribers.footballguys.com/download2012/fanduelvalue_3.htm
Using your chart I came up with...60k ($200 left)

QB Joe Flacco

RB Trent Richardson

RB DeMarco Murray

WR A.J. Green

WR Brandon Marshall

WR DeSean Jackson

TE Jimmy Graham

K Garrett Hartley

D Dallas Cowboys

55k ($100 left)

QB Matt Cassel (couldn't go with Locker)

RB Michael Bush

RB Trent Richardson

WR Brandon Marshall

WR Malcom Floyd

WR Percy Harvin

TE Jason Witten

K Garrett Hartley

D Dallas Cowboys

Flacco is a good value play this week, I just dont feel like it's the week to cheap out at QB. Not with the JUICY match-up that Brees has at home. Austin is a great play, but I think Dez is the Cowboy to buy this week, for a couple of hundred bucks less.I'd flip the Eagles d with the cheaper play on the other side of the field in Arizona. Janikowski is a little banged up, you may want to look at Tucker for the same price or Hartley for $100 less. interesting note on Spiller, though it may not mean much. I've had a chance to grab a sneak peak at some of the BIG GUN picks this week as im playing a couple H2H (Condia/Ellaphat(sp) and none of their teams include Spiller. Could mean nothing, but I gotta weigh it. Their bankrolls merit it.

Lots of eggs in the Dallas basket Dave. I know you love Murray this week, but if you swapped him out for a guy like Bush or Morris you could upgrade Witten to Graham and spread out a little more. just my .02

Brees is so expensive this week though, I flirted with Brees lineups and I had to sacrifice at TE or RB, which I don't want to do.
Austin is a great play, but I think Dez is the Cowboy to buy this week, for a couple of hundred bucks less.
Yeah, who knows with Dez, guy is a complete wildcard.
I'd flip the Eagles d with the cheaper play on the other side of the field in Arizona.
the Cards offense is so bad I think the the Eagles D is going to have a field day.
Janikowski is a little banged up, you may want to look at Tucker for the same price or Hartley for $100 less.
Agreed, I've already switched to Hartley.

Yeah, Spiller is who I'm least confident about...you've got to believe the Browns are going to gameplan for him. The other plays here are Trent Richardson or Michael Bush. I'll probably ponder this all effing day.

QB Joe Flacco

RB Donald Brown

RB Michael Bush

WR AJ Green

WR Brandon Marshall

WR Armon Binns

TE Jimmy Graham

PK Garrett Hartley

Def Chicago Bears

Nice to have a Dodds sighting in here! I like the idea of banking on one huge game, but for 50/50 would you have less risk by spreading out across several games and for a regular tournament wouldn't your ceiling be higher?

not necessarily. you could say romo will get 2-3 passing td's this game. you are more likely to secure one of those td's if you dez and witten as opposed to colston and witten or dez and gonzalez. as long as dallas doesnt get shut down by TB's defense, dez+witten is the safer option

Ended up going with this lineup for my 55k team.

RG3

Andre Brown

Spiller

Demaryius Thomas

Brandon Marshall

Donnie Avery

Dennis Pitta

Nate Kaeding

Lions DI

I went back and forth atleast 20 times before locking in Thursday. I really wanted to get Marshall/Thomas combo at WR. I was trying to snatch Malcolm Floyd as WR3 but couldn't justify downgrading RG3 to Flacco/Cutler so I rolled with one of the 5100 WR's (Blackmon, Avery, DHB) and went with Avery at home against Jax.

:boxing:

Anything Detroit lions is a good play this week. Tennessee is the perfect elixir to a team needing to break out. Calvin is in all my lineups. I'll make it up elsewhere. No one on Tennessee can even hope to cover him.

Ugh, had to pull T. Smith from my lineup, loved his value this week.

Also switched from Flacco/Graham to Brees/Pitta in several leagues.

I meant to post this yesterday but hopefully it helps somebody late. I'm in about 5 tournaments and used a different strategy for each team. Wanted to post some targets to help you all if you wanted to manage your teams this way. I normally just find cheap RB's and splurge on other positions but this week I decided to try our different strategies to diversify and may have found some bargains.

Cheap QB/TE

QB: Start with Alex Smith and Matt Cassel.(Don't laugh)

TE: Gonz, Pitta, Gresham(think he's due for a TD), Witten

This team I was able to afford MJD, Spiller, Megatron, B-Marsh and Miles Austin.

Cheap WR's

WR: Malcom Floyd, Colston(idk injuries yet), Reggie Wayne, Steve Johnson(maybe) for 18,200 all 1WR that are a TD threat every week. If you spend the min on k/d you have a avg of 8k to spend on QB/TE/RB

Rest of the team would go Romo, MJD, Spiler, Graham and I have 0$ left.

Cheap RB's

RB: Any combo for Mike Bush, Donald Brown, Peyton Hillis. All have 15-20 point upside.

you can go Romo/Stafford, Miles Austin, Marshall, Megatron, Graham

Balanced

Just the most balanced team I had.

Stafford/Romo

Spiller, Hillis

Austin, Harvin, Marshall

Graham

Shayne Graham

Lions

Tried to rush, I hope that helps.
