I really love the Bible because of how it captures how life was thousands of years ago.
6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.According to the Bible, you are plans on getting to heaven just went out the window.
Heaven sounds really boring according to this.

Well, there's an inherent difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament, first of all. Somebody with a working knowledge of that wouldn't blindly sling that around. And even at that point, you're just being anti-Semitic.

This is a thread for posting favorite bible verses. The ones centered around fornicating, drunkards, and seed spilling are my favorites because that is what my life is all about basically.

Unfortunately translations from one language to another is often imperfect. The word hate here should be to love less, which is consistent with similar verses in other books, meaning you should love God above all others.

 
Psalm 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Something I like regarding Psalm 23: It talks about the shepherd and refers to the "green grass." In the gospel of Mark, the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 states that the people sat down on the "green grass." Only Mark includes this detailed description. I believe the writer, seeing Jesus feeding his 'flock,' thought back to Psalm 23 and the reference to the green grass. The writer makes the connection of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, leading his people.

I think about this verse when things seem overwhelming. It's kind of my mantra that tells me not to be afraid. I think it's kind of cool. :shrug:

I see where you're coming from and I don't really understand why they do it either other than to get a rise out of some. It really doesn't bother me, though. And, honestly, I'm more annoyed with the religious who feel the need to get into a battle over everything and defend each and every verse. But that's just me.
