Favorite Cologne? (1 Viewer)

I think it's weirder that it seems most of you don't use anything.
Might be a combination of scented body wash, scented deodorant, and/or working in a profession where strong scents are discouraged by HR or the profession itself (healthcare and whatnot).
Yeah I think the bodywash/soap/deodorant scented today cuts back on the cologne.

In the younger years plain soap and right guard spray really didn't give you that scented fresh feeling :)

I've hit the combo that works for me without cologne. Now every time I'm hooking up with a new girl it's inevitable when they start to get in close, it's an 'oooh, you smell good' and it's hard to hold back a laugh because it's every. time. and it's just body wash and a few spritzes of a body spray. I guess the key is just finding the right scent that works with your normal self.
Body spray is just basically cologne though right?

That was my thought as well

I really haven't worn cologne since they stopped making A&F Woods like 20 years ago and bottles were going for $$$ in resale.
I only wore it back then on date nights because it turned my wife on.
Just searched it and it looks like they re-released, wonder if there's still a A&F around? :brush:

Now that you mention it, Old Spice deodorant variations do take up like half an aisle nowadays.

I’ve never been, but the Cologne in Germany has a lot of history and pretty cool-looking Gothic cathedral. There’s a Cologne in Minnesota, but it just looks like a lesser suburb of Minneapolis. So, I’ll go Germany.
Beat me to it. I was going to post the exact same thing......Cologne, Germany>>>Cologne, Minnesota

I used to be anti cologne like a lot of you. Then I turned 40 and my wife got me a bottle of YSL L'Homme. I thought I would humor her and wear it a time or two. Now, I can't hardly wear it around her cause can't keep her hands off me.

Even her friends have given me some compliments on the nice smell.

I now have 3 bottles I rotate. Prada and Bvlgari are the others. YSL is the best though.

I get the work part, but tone in the thread from many is that cologne is gross and people don't wear it outside of work either. Many body washes are as potent and pungent as cologne too.
So I started using Dr Squatch body wash (coconut one) and their shampoo and body cream.

Stuff is super clean, very few ingredients and smells great.

Put I still always squirt two sprays of cologne on for my work day.

Dr Squatch is not heavy on the smell because of the limited natural ingredients they use.

I really love their products even though they are pricey. The soap/body wash is fantastic as well the body moisturizer cream. I won’t use the shampoo anymore most likely….it’s decent but not worth the price.

Im actually a collector. Have about 30 bottles between my son (16) and I.

Its a whole thing, kind of like watches, sneakers, baseball cards or anything else collectible.

I've got some nice stuff, and find it worth it. I can pretty much guarantee no one can smell me outside of a 2-3 ft bubble. You pick certain ones for certain occassions (work, date night, etc). Keep the clean soapy non offensive stuff for work, stuff that appeals to the wife (always, but especially for date night). Gotta keep it fresh after being married for 23 years.

Anyone wants advice I can steer you in the right direction!

I have seen those, but haven't tried any yet. Duke Cannon has some good stuff as well that I have stumbled on. I have their Midnight Swim as a solid cologne that I like to have for the rare occasion we travel. A couple others have a matching cologne as well.

Honus Wagner 1909 cologne must be very rare and valuable.
Actually old cologne can be worth 1000s. Especially old Chanel

Really? Doesn’t it spoil after just a few short years?

Common misconception. As long as you keep it out of direct sunlight and heat it’ll last 10+, maybe even 20.
