We ran a similar poll many years ago and after watching the Ryder Cup this past weekend I was wondering what the response would be now.

 
Hockey and basketball biggest tournaments are wrapped up in the blanket of the two olympics which makes their individual choices much less attractive.

 
Close call between Winter Olympics and World Cup, but I care more about hockey so went with the Olympics. Plus it gives us all a chance to wager on hot chicks curling.

Nobody cares about the IIHF World Hockey Championship each year, but the World Juniors is probably 2nd to the Olympics for hockey. Upcoming World Cup of Hockey in 2016 should be awesome too.

I was not sure what to list for hockey as I thought the World Cup was defunct but your link shows that it is not.

it's been dead for awhile. nothing since 2004 but they are finally bringing it back according to reports.

NHL owns it so they will make money on it. They make nothing off the Olympics and hate having to schedule around it mid-season plus losing some star players to injury like Tavares last year.

World Cup

Big golf fan but never got into the Ryder Cup

Olympics are a cool event but if I miss most of it I don't really care
