trance is dead
I don't think trance is dead, but since you're Eurotrash you're kind of an authority on the subject.
Trace is not dead in America. You are 5 years behind the Brits when it comes to electronic music. Breakbeats, tech-funk, techno is where it's at. :Dj:

Then I'm glad we're behind the Brits. :moneybag: I'll agree that the old style of trance from the late 90's and early 2000's is gone, which was my all-time favorite music of any genre. Call me old but I still listen to many of those songs. Heck, it's probably what I listen to most. It was just always my favorite and I never got tired of it. Too bad it's gone. :moneybag:

 I'll never forget that album cover. :(The difference now is that I don't get out like I used to and have limited exposure to techno like I once did. Career, married etc. Those were some good times though. :)

Anyone in San Fran this weekend. Killer set at Mighty on Saturday night. Wish I could be there.

Lee Coombs / Meat Katie / Dylan Rhymes

I don't know those guys, but I've been meaning to see more electronic music in SF. I went to see Indian DJ Cheb Sabbah a few years ago and I loved it.
I think you should go and then report back.
Going to my sister's birthday bash that night. Are you near SF? We could do a techno cornhole some day...

I'm really into electro house right now. If anyone knows some good electro house tracks that don't have much lyrics, post them here.

Some of my favoruites right now:

Digitalism - The Pulse

Pendulum's new album, Immersion, is mind blowingly good (like their other albums). Definitely worth a listen.

Going to see Thievery Corporation tonight and Lee Coombs tomorrow night.:djscratch:
nice! love the thievery. i'm kind of in a hurry, so you'll have to do your own digging, but i've got a few artists you guys should check out!ltj bukem - my favorite drum&bass / jungle dj/producer ever. check him out. there's some old school essential mixes you can download w/ mc conrad on d&b-set.de i think the url is... google it - classics.high contrast - another great d&b producer/dj. check out the above site for some sets... always flawless.mark farina - my favorite house dj/producer. all of his mushroom jazz mixes/albums are fantastic and anything live is always great. he usually throws in some old school rock and roll - i've heard him spin the doors and fleetwood mac in a few shows. he puts on a great show.richie hawtin - my favorite techno producer/dj. minimal but o-so-complex in its own right. great stuff.and for some of the new up and coming people -flying lotus - hiphopish/idm ... creating his own movement on the west coast of the USofA and spreading worldwide. unbelievable producer. must check this guy out live if you ever get a chance.hudson mohawke - hiphopish/idm - same boat as flying lotus... creating alot of buzz in the hip hop / r&b scene. working with some big name artists to produce some crazy remixes and new ish... check out his essential mix (i think its may?) should be able to google it. great stuff.random rab - a newish guy to the idm/hiphopish scene but causing a splash imo... google him. great stuff.joker - up and coming dubstep artist... great stuff.sound tribe sector 9 - live band doing electronic music. always a great show. they get a bit trancey at times, but have some really heavy bangin some as well... worth a listen imo. pnuma trio - same as sts9 - but less trancey... up and coming.these are a few off the top of my head! i hadn't noticed this thread yet.... but i've been a huge electronic fan for a long long time - cross genre's. i'll have more to add in the future as well.

nice! big fan of the old school jungle from mid 90's. great stuff... dr. s. gachet, jumpin jack frost, krust, roni size, goldie, dillinja, dieselboy (one of my favorite dj/producers, though he's gotten a bit too heavy for me these days) - the jungle from the 90's is some of my favorite music. that site is dnb-sets.de, i'd suggest finding anything from around the 90's - all great. one in the jungle used to have a great radio show back then on radio one. there's a site that hosts many of them, don't know the URL from work but if you can find them they're all great. the only problem is there's commercial interruptions on alot of them lol...

They should od stopped making techo after Sandstorm.

Add in the awesome video and the fact its Wandys intro song and it will never be topped.

another artist i'm into is daedelus ... check this out. his music is pretty different, but the things he does with that mononome is pretty sweet.

:blackdot: for later tonight

If the new Flying Lotus has not been mentioned yet it's really good though this might not be the right thread.

i got a few more up and coming artists to check out

lazer sword - duo does alot of remixes of old school and newer stuff. electro boogie funk hiphop. in their own words here

and

shlohmo - more of the hiphopish idm stuff. with a slower/heavier beat.

do some looking around i'm sure you'll find some mixes online. if you're having problems or are looking for more of anything i've posted, hit me up with a pm and i can upload some stuff. everything would be live mixes or podcasts endorsed by the artists themselves... no sharing of copywritten material such as albums or whatnot.

For those like me who still enjoy some trance. You can get a free Ultra All Stars 2010 MP3 album download from Amazon

Track-list:

1. I Am Not Drunk (Radio Edit) Benny Benassi 3:06

2. Ten Seconds Before Sunrise Tiësto 7:31

3. 4:00 AM Kaskade 4:18

4. Communication Armin Van Buuren 4:16

5. The Bass Sander Van Doorn 4:46

6. You Can Be The One Late Night Alumni 3:13

Curious if any of you are familiar with Pictureplane & have any opinion of him. He tours a lot & has stuff on Amazon but i (his godfather) really dont know if he has any kind of rep in the techno/emo world.

Wife and I may be Rolling face this weekend for the first time in like 9 years... looking for a good playlist. Im old and out of touch (31). Should I stick to the classics?

Ive always been a trance guy. Atb, oakenfold, sasha, digweed back in the day. Late 90s and early 2000s techno was always my favorite music. New stuff not so much. Im not a Guetta fan and he seems to be the most popular dj now. Newer guys i like: Robbie Rivera, Laidback Luke. Ferry Corsten and Van Burren are ok and have some good stuff
