favorite 'techno' song... or (1 Viewer)

Seems like Beat Bird had a software hiccup and lost just about everything they had on there from about 4-6 months ago and beyond. There were some great sets and terrific music that you likely won't here anywhere except in the underground or truly late night/early morning clubs like Space down here in Miami where Loco Dice played a few weeks ago.

A few of my favorite albums in the last year have been:

Sander Kleinenberg - 5k

Ministry of Sound 2010 - The Annual (Specifically Disk 3)

Bad Boy Bill - The Album

Stanton Warriors - The Warriors

I keep restarting this one when it comes up on my playlist. Really liking it. This video's got a silly Real Steel/UFC theme to it too.

Give it a spin and see what you think.

If you haven't started downloaded and listening to the Monstercat Podcast - do it.

weekly show - used to be just 30 minutes, but recently increased to an hour.

1 hour of independent house musicians... it's really a top grade free hour of music each week.

anyone in this thread into Chiptune? I kind of just discovered it... i've always like 8-bit music

Let me reiterate that the weekly monstercat podcast is almost always extremely good.

If you like chiptune music (8-bit, oldschool video game style) the podcast "this week in chiptune" is also very good.

Edgar Froese recently died. Here is a good recap of his genre defining work with Tangerine Dream, as well as his solo projects:

The first part of a wide collaboration with techno and electronica artists from 2015, second part expected 2016. Among other musicians (Air, Moby, Pete Townshend [[pioneering synths/sequencers on Who's Next]] and Massive Attack), there is a track with Edgar Froese and Tangerine Dream that may be one of his last - track 11, linked separately above.

Been looking for this thread. I don't keep up with a lot of the new underground if there even is such a thing but i do listen to a lot of DJs who spin music, like records and vinyl and some of them won't even enter a club if they don't have actual 1200s...so when I like a tune it's sometimes hard to actually locate it or find whatever the name of it is.

I found a newer one I like, reminds me of some old school vocal house type stuff. Slightly more wicked or deeper/darker than a vocal house track but have a a listen to Fred Everything and the title is Searching.

Good to see some other House and Techno fans

I still love the Robot Rock/Oh Yeah>Touch It to start off Daft Punk's Alive.  I'm not sure if it counts though.
