Am I the only one who thinks the latest rumors/news/Deadspin reports related to Brett Favre and his time in New York have been ready to be delivered this week for months? I also think it is stupid to fire shots like that at a gunslinger; Favre shreds them this week.

I'm wondering why this is so far from even getting in the ballpark of the uproar over the Tiger Woods scandal, with women crawling out of the woodwork to say they did some horizontal gunslinging with Farve. If this is the kind of guy he is, there has to be boatloads of women out there who will claim to have been with them or the subject of his stalker-like behavior.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the information is somewhat stale being it happened so long ago. That and it's coming from a questionable source. I'm sure as the game Monday night draws closer this will pick up some steam.

I Favre is that stupid that he pursues chicks by emailing porn pictures (whether it is himself or someone else's genitalia) to them than he deserves all the abuse and ridicule that comes his way as a result.

Sure Deadspin timed its disclosure to a NY appearance back to where the allegations took place. What better way to maximize the impact.

I dont know if its a race thing nor do I want to debate it, but some people believe it is. A black man sleeping with white women is a scandal while a wrangler wearin good ol' boy who is corn fed is a non story and we should focus on anything but this story. this is slowly getting into FAA territory.

Ha - I sure as hell hope so!By the way, I think the most interesting thing about this is how the national media picks up on a story that has been out there since the summer and even earlier. Funndy (odd) how they can just put something salacious away in their hip pocket and put it out there whenever they think it best suits them to drive the news cycle. This happens in national politics too.

There is no doubt in my mind that the timing was intended. Timing of events and announcements to coincide with other events and announcements on a high profile level is usually intended, although it seems the general rule is to deny to the public that the timing was intended (for a recent example, consider Glen Beck stating that his rally in D.C. was not intended to coincide with the anniversary of MLK's I have dream speech and Beck instead stated that the timing was unintended coincidence).

All that said, I recall that Favre has a history of performing very well on MNF when facing personal adversity, i.e. the death of his father, the cancer diagnosis of his wife (I may be mistaken about the timing of the diagnosis in relation to MNF). I think he'll be fine on this Monday night and I wouldn't bench him unless you have much stronger options.

Roethlisberger down? I think Ben would argue about his punishment and racial motivations of said punishment. I don't understand what race has to do with this at all unless I have completely missed something. Of course some may just be looking to make everything into a race issue.

Exactly. People around here know what he was up to, but around here the players mingle with us regular folk without having to worry about being mobbed and slobbered over when they're out and about. That doesn't mean we didn't know what was going on, especially when him and Chewy partied together.

alleged rape is a bid diff, than sending a peepee pic. I know if Favre Raped a girl this would be on ESPN news and the rest of the sports cycle. both of the other examples deal with cheating on your wife not alleged rape.
