Favre Did Not Look Like He Was Enjoying Himself (1 Viewer)

Didn't it seem like Favre was not digging his Lambeau weather in the 2nd half? When they'd show close-ups, it almost looked like he was sick. Seems the frozen tundra may be the only environment where Favre loses his magic.

You trying playing in weather like that sometime. I do not see how anyone could enjoy playing in weather like that.

Lots of "experts" before the game pointed to Favre as the one player on both teams that wouldn't be bothered by the cold.

Guess they were wrong.

I think the Giants offense controlling the clock and keeping the Packers offense on the sidelines didn't help much - and the DBs on the Pack were crampin' up because of being on the field so long...... Hell, Jennings only had 14 yards if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know why the Pack gave up on the offensive plays that got them where they were today. Short slant routes, passes to the RBs out of the backfield and running the ball a bit more.

The Giants had a TD called back, they missed two FGs and then finally made the one that ended it. The Giants earned this victory.

When he played against the Bears at the end of the year, he looked like he wanted to crawl in a hole and die. He had the same look tonight.

Any myth that the Packers are a cold weather team were dispelled this season. See Chicago and today.

We have a lot going for us though as we are the youngest team in the NFL, have a good Defense a solid corps of WR's, a very good OL, and a solid running game.

We'll be there at the end next year again.

His nose was running the entire game. Plus, in cold weather like that when you keep wiping your nose it gets very sore. I think he was hurting a bit there.

I do agree though that this team is not a "cold weather team" anymore. Hopefully the offensive linemen can improve over the next year so we can use the running game to 1) help get back to the playoffs and 2) run the ball effectively once they are IN the playoffs.

Every year is different so I wouldn't put the Packers in the playoffs just yet. It's exciting to see such a young team, but it showed last night how much more the entire organization (coaching and players) need to learn.

The credit goes to D-coordinator Spagnuolo, who probably threw the Packers off by not bringing a lot of pressure in. They went with a simple 4 man rush more times than not. The Giants were aggressive in stopping the underneath routes. They were all over the RB dumpoffs. And remember the 2 times Favre faked a short pass to his WRs, the Giants jumped the route, and he wound up getting big plays (the long TD throw and a 15 yard gain). I thought the Giants' aggressiveness could have been used against them a little more than it was.

I even heard Favre say that all he wanted to do during that game was get off the field (no link on TV). I saw similar signs last night.

Favre didn't have a great game, but the difference between winning and losing was the running game. The Giants were able to run, at least enough to keep the Pack D honest, while the Packers couldn't get Grant going.

Favre has said before he doesn't like playing in weather that cold. His 38 year old bones probably hate it even more.

I agree. He didn't have his "snowball throwing" attitude (the biggest reason I love Favre). There was something bothering him - probably the cold.

Or maybe, just maybe, it was the fact that the Giants were handing them their ### and they could do nothing on offense?Folks, cold or not, the Giants dominated this game on both sides of the ball. The Giants held the ball for long drives, keeping Favre off the field. When the Packer offense was out there, they couldn't run it. Makes it much easier to defend when you know they're throwing every down.So what? You want Favre out there jumping for joy because they were being dominated? The guy played hard and did his best.

I thought just rushing 4 was the giant's mo. they should have been expecting that. Giants fans can correct me if i am wrong.

Classically, it had been. But this year, Spagnuolo mixed in a new blitzing package with this defense which has been very effective. They disguise their blitzes very well, and sometimes, even with the blitz, will only have 4 players rushing the QB (one D-lineman will drop back). They didn't do much of that last night.
