rotowire said he might be headed to the injured reserved, but i am thinking it should be the injured retired in this case
If he doesn't go on IR this week, or announce his retirement after tonight's game, I fully expect to see a frail, weak, and hobbled Brett Favre trying to take the field at the end of a meaningless week 17 game just to attempt one more pass so that his "career" doesn't end on an interception (again).

All the rest of the Favre stuff aside, it is absolutely amazing that he's played every game since 1992. That's ancient history in NFL years. Dave Kreig was in the top-10 QBs, and Browning Nagle was fantasy starter quality. Eric Dickerson was still in the league. Herschel Walker had one of his better years. Art Monk was busy padding his career stats.
People got down on Favre because of the extended drama of the end of his career, but in the long run he will be remembered as an all-time great, and a good example of a QB who just couldn't give up the game he loved to play. There are worse crimes.
