Favre returning in '06 (1 Viewer)

   Haters have more to complain about now.  2006 Packers = 9-7
:lmao:
Laugh now... cry later. Last year is exhibit 'A' for any NFL team that has injuries just what injuries can do to a team.
How is it other teams can overcome injuries but when it happens to the Pack and they don't overcome, their fans think no one else can. Overcome injuries has been done, just not by the Pack.
It is not that they could not overcome them but when there is a key injury almost week after week no team can overcome that. Say what you want NO team could have overcome the amount of injuries the Packers had last year.
:lmao: OK, I will as you will keep dreaming . . I mean thinking what you want.Didn't the 2004 Panthers almost make the Playoffs after injuries blasted them? They also lost 2 starting RBs, their star WR, key defense players. And yet, somehow they did ok without a HOF QB to lead them.
They won the close games. Packers were not blown out in the losses they had last year. They had many close games and while they did not win them the story you would be stating would be totally different. The Pack did not win the close games but one could easily assume that if they were fully healthy, those close games may not have been so close or on the other hand the Packers would have been winning those near the end.

Oh dear God... then we have to go through the drama NEXT year...
I'm glad he is coming back for another year, but I was about to post the same thing you did.
He's already said that, if he plays in '06, it's his last year. Isn't that pretty clear?Man, we suffered through Michael Jordan coming out of retirement twice. At least Favre is trying keep it to once.

Guy in my dynasty league draft going on right now was ecstatic to get him as the news broke.

Congrats guy. You got a 1-year QB that has no #1 WR, no running game, and no offensive line.

:hey:

I don't know if anyone on this board is happier than _4_ right now! :excited:

I have tix to the Packer/Ram game Oct. 8 - 50 yard line 10 rows up and 45 yard line 30 rows up....4 tix....and I get to see Brett play live one more time!!!

:excited:

The pack will suck with or without Favre. Might as well let the old boy lead the sucking. He is still fun to watch, except when Madden is calling it. I'm glad we have 1 more year of Farve. Why stop there, anybody have Robert Brooks's phone number? I live near Aspen where there are many transient fans. Have you ever watched a Packer game with a Packer fan dressed up with Packer jersey, hat, socks, underware ext.. Its more fun to watch them squirm watching Brett than watching the game itself. This way they think they have a chance and they might with him. Thank you #4 for 1 more year!

WHO CARES? Packers are a losing team, Favre will throw 20 INTs, and he still has no team.

Move on.

You're right. While I think Favre is now merely an average qb-at best-on the field, surely the effect he can have on Rodgers is tremendous.
Hasn't Favre said in the past, it is NOT his job to teach rookies??I'm glad he is back, my wife and her family are packer fans, and after watching them gloat over owning the Bears since Favre has been at the wheel, I finally get some payback as the wheels fall off!

:D

 He has stated it will be his last year. However, I'm sure the haters will not get a grasp of this until early fall.
He did, but he's allowed to change his mind if he wants to go out like Elway did.

Brett Favre is one of the greatest players to ever grace the gridiron. Lets not forget that physically he is fine. He lost the fire last year. The Packers have a pretty good defense and were able to move the ball well despite all their injuries. Favre didn't play badly until he became despondent about the losing. The Pack is blessed with an easy schedule this year. If they can start the season fast, keeping Brett's mind in the game, they have an excellent chance to make the playoffs. One of the biggest problems in Green Bay has been Mike Sherman's poor gaming strategy, costing the team a lot of close losses. Now, with a new head coach, they may be able to win some of the close games. And the Packers have one weapon that few teams in the NFL can match. Brett Favre. The Packers have the cap space now to clean up on whatever late free agents come available. The legend of Brett Favre will only grow.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Yeah...he may as well lead the sinking ship.

I just saw Madden's bus going by at about 100mph... in GB's direction...

Probably a nice little candlelight dinner between the two...

Now, Javon - get your skinny little behind on to another team so we can have some clarity on who the receivers will be...

Maybe he should call a press conference to announce this.
:lmao: :goodposting:
There was only one press conference, which he didn't call, to discuss his charity golf event. You all have a good imagination.
Who called it then? And why did a member of the Favre camp state that their was going to be a major announcement?Favre has turned into a pathetic attention hound. The fact that he strung us along for months after he already made his decision is proof of that.

Anyone who thought he was not comming back was kidding themselves. Favre would not walk away one season from breaking Marino's TD record. That was never an option. This entire episode was nothing more than a desperate attempt to make the Packers front office try to get players in there that Favre wanted.

Favre is a lot of things (which I like to point out), but he is not an attention hound. He is an iconic professional athlete and it has always been the media seeking him out, not the other way around. If one is going to make the case Favre is an attention whore, than the onus will on them to provide links showing the frequency in which Favre has scheduled impromptu press conferences.

:goodposting: Just remember that facts and Favre haters don't mix. ;)

I can't wait to see more INTs forced into double/triple coverage followed by the "aww shucks" grin and a shrug of the shoulders.

Brett Favre is a loser now.

I hate to interject a fantasy discussion into the Favre love/hatefest....but what is the concensus as to whether Favre will be a solid fantasy QB in 2006?

With a healthy Ahman Green and a decent defense, I think Favre could have a nice season.

Halfway through the year Favre will say how tired he is, and how hard it is to get up for every game now.
:lmao: No kidding.

A 5-11 year for the Packers who won't have a chance to see Rodgers on the field. Yay.

News has been trickling out of Green Bay for over a month from Packers insiders that Favre decided he was going to play but was not allowing the team to make a formal announcement. What possible motivation could he have for doing so unless he just wanted to be in the middle of a media circus? Your devotion for the man is clouding your perspective. We all know that he called one press conference with the implication that he was going to make a formal announcement. How many does it really take to qualify someone as an attention whore? (Let Favre know and he will give you that number, and one more just to be sure, next offseason.)

1. Provide one link that stated he informed the team of a decision but would not allow them to make an announcement. During an interview with Roy Firestone at this charity golf outing, Favre stated that Thompson was pressing for an answer in late March and Favre stated if you want an answer at this point my answer is I'm not returning. Also, why would the bonus he was scheduled to receive keep getting pushed back if the team and Favre knew he was returning?2. Again, please get this through your head. The press conference was held as part of his charity fundraiser. That press conference has taken place each year for the last 11 years of the event.

3. Please come up with something better next time. Some of your Favre haters have no concept of reality.

So will Favre be in the Packers war room during the draft? To make sure they select the right players, you know.

Please point out the last team that overcame losing 5 RBs, 2 WR, 2 starting OL, and the starting TE, to make the playoffs and post a winning record, in ONE season.

Mr. Pack, please remember that facts are something that Favre haters do not comprehend.TIA

They'll still take a QB with their first pick.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Only if they trade down to the 20's or if they trade completely out of the first round. Other than that, that's a pretty ridiculous statement.
