FBG content is confusing me... (1 Viewer)

The cheatsheet has Favre listed as the 9th best QB this week and Kitna as the 19th.

The Sleepers says Kitna is a Prime Cut with a great matchup against a soft secondary and Favre is only worth a gamble against a team that kept him under control last year.

It seems to me that the 2 projections are contradicting.

We're not a collective like the Borg. Many staff members may have varying opinions. Bob Henry put together the sleeper list. Frankly, I love that we as staff members are encouraged to think for ourselves and have differing opinions. However, a standard has been set that we have to back those opinions up with analysis. I feel Bob does a great job in the sleeper section backing up his selections.

perhaps this should be at the top of the sleeper article as well

PLEASE NOTE: This does NOT replace the Cheatsheet ranking. The Cheatsheet rankings are the final say on where we see a player for that week. The Matchup Breakdowns are simply one more tool in the box when it comes to helping choose your lineup.

Dude, both of your QBs suck. It's a coin flip.Sorry. You needed to hear it. :hey:
Some of us take marginal QBs, because in the end, the point differential between those and the 3rd-5th QBs isn't drastic enough to waste the early pick. But hey, if you're better than us, then you lead the way.

Also.Any Star Trek reference is cool.
Yeah, but am I cool? I can understand how the reference is cool, but I really want to be cool too. Back when I was a kid and believed in prayer I used to say the same prayer all the time. Please God, just let me be a cool guy.

The first step to coolness is getting a remote-controlling beer-drinking cat avatar.

sorry to say that both are actually decent plays this week and might score in the top 5 QBs for week 3.

LOL...in the top 250 thread they're #####ing about needing more staff opinions while in this thread they ##### about contridictions.

Grossman lit up the Lions defense, but that game was in Chicago. The week before, the Lions defense played at home and shut down the Seahawks offense. They'll be at home this week, so do you expect them to play like they did in week 1 or more like they played in week 2?

Similarly, Favre was terrible against Chicago in week 1 (fantasy wise, but it wasn't all his fault), but he played pretty well against the Saints in week 2. Both games were at home but this week he'll be on the road in a dome where he has never enjoyed great success. Do you think the Lions defense is more like the Bears or the Saints?

Pretty tough to be definitive on matchups and projections when we only have 2 games to base them on. Packers had a great pass defense last year and added Charles Woodson. Lions changed their defensive scheme, but the players are pretty much the same.

Personally, I like the Lions defense to slow down Favre quite a bit this week and I think Kitna is due for a breakout game.

"It's scary how close Kitna is to a breakout game."Roy Williams

I've been wondering about the Detroit D, too. I thought they'd be great, given that they shut down Seattle. On further thought, and seeing another week of games, I think Seattle isn't as good as last year. Hutch was a huge part of that offensive juggernaut. Losing him is like losing two guys.Rex Grossman did pound them, but that might just be the result of Grossman being underrated--since we barely got to see him play. He's always injured. I think DET is gonna have a big game, but I'm still not sure about GB. Favre put a serious hurt on NO, kind of as expected, and still lost. That means he's still hungry for the W, and might see DET--and big mouth Roy Williams--as a good target to psych his team up.

This has been my thinking too & was surprised at the gap between Favre & Kitna on the first cut of the cheatsheets (though we'll see when the projections come out - a 10-place spread may only be a few points).IMO, the Packers pass D has shown to be worse than the Lions. Add in the fact that the Lions are home & that Kitna has thrown for a nice % (even if he has no TDs), all lead me to believe Kitna is a better play. One other thing against Favre, and I don't know how to explain it: "at Detroit" has traditionally been a nightmare for Favre. I don't normally subscribe to those kinds of things when changeover on teams is as high as it is nowadays, but his QB rating in Detroit was awful for years.

Anyway, I look for a shootout in this one with Kitna having a Top 10 day.
