FBG Draft Resource (1 Viewer)

I've been looking over the various resources that Footballguys provide that can be used as a cheatsheet on draft day. However, in looking over the 3 options, they all contain some wide variances in rankings and projections. Which of the following are you guys most likely to use as your draft day cheatsheet guide?

1. "Top 300"

2. "Expert Rankings"

3. "163 Custom Cheatsheets"

I know that no single resource is ideal, but what would you use as an overall guide?

I would use the expert rankings IF they are loaded with your leagues scoring system

If you have a laptop there is nothing better than the draft dominator.
:bye: This. The Draft Dominator is what all the FBG's staff use to manage our own drafts. Some of us tweak the projections to match our own boards; some of us use the Projections Dominator and weight the various projections differently (and then import the result into the Draft Dominator). There are just so many useful in-draft tools on the DD which help you spot trends/runs, etc. Also you can load your weekly schedule into the app and then weight the dominator to draft players projected to do better during divisional games (for example), or draft with an eye to the fantasy playoffs (14-16) - it is an extremely powerful, extremely flexible tool. My .02.

I've never used the DD, but we are doing on online draft, and not sure I will have the time to enter each team's picks (isn't that how it works?).
I agree with this - plus I am the commissioner - so it was just too much to handle come draft time.I would look over all three, see which one you like best then make corrections based on your own personal observations, rankings, tiers, etc. Makes it more fun (and harder to swallow) when things pan out and you pick the right guy.

The DD is very easy to keep up with the pace of even the fastest online draft. The only time I would not recommend using the DD is for auctions that have 10-15 sec bidding limits.

yes you must enter them, but it is so easy and takes no time. You just click on the players name and press "move" and thats it
2 Ideas... first if you are dead set against using DD at the draft you can always print the top 200/400 from there after setting up your league scoring on it....second... I had trouble using DD at first too, usually when someone makes an off the wall pick and I have trouble locating them on the list. What I started doing is when someone odd is drafted that I know I wont draft, I scroll to the bottom and give them a random person... much easier than searching for Amani Toomer, or the like, way way down the list.

Ok, I input my league settings. According to DD, Tom Brady and Drew Brees are ranked #1 and #3...not sure I trust that info! Our league does 1 point for every 15 yards passing and 6 pts for passing TD...that shouldn't affect the rankings THAT much, should it?

Pobably. But there is no reason just because the DD SUGGESTS you draft a qb in round one that you actually have to do it.

I've used the draft dominator in the past and found it pretty helpful.
One other problem, is there a version for a Mac?

no, there's nothing for mac. it sucks. furthermore, if you download the Excel spread sheet, mac version of office doesn't have the macro scripts to run it.as for your league scoring, that is the most QB friendly scoring system i have ever seen. if you still give 10 yards/pt for running and receiving compared to 15 yards/pt for QBs... i would take Brady and Brees 1 and 2.

VBD application with your own leagues scoring system plugged in.

I then have highlighters with 3 different colors (red for "avoid", green for "take em" etc.

I like to use the expert concensus stuff, or a concesus ADP list, then pair that with my favorite Experts rankings. This year I used The Calculator's ADP list and then checked in with Dodds or Krueger to aid my final decision making.I like going into a draft with an ADP list for guidance, and an experts list or two, for the nut cutting.

I have used DD in the past, but we cant take our laptops(PC) home from work any more and I have a mac at home so this year I had to use VBD.

since the macros dont work on the macs, I had to download the newest version on the day of my draft and then do all my tweaks, like players to get or avoid....
