@Ministry of Pain : Title of thread and the summary post are both wrong.
With pick 55, the Chargers draft T.J. Sanders, IDL, South Carolina.
Fell asleep early last night, thanks for doing this, updated this morningThe picks have been:
LAC 55 T.J. Sanders
SEA 56 Jared Wilson
CAR 57 Azareye'h Thomas
HOU 58 Wyatt Milum
Giants traded Thibodeaux shortly after taking Abdul Carter at #3We're trading players now?
Gimme a pick for each of Chig, Levis, and Spears
It’s an interesting draft in that there are so many of them in a similar tier that if you pass in the first one or two of them inevitably tumble a bit.Great value pick. He was in consideration at 2.38. A guy with his size and skill set is rarely found at bottom half of rd 22. 53 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss
Wonder how often that happens in the real draft? Doubt anymore, but back in the day you’d have to think once in a while. In the good ole days we would see the #57 pic - Carolina run to the podium
What year was that? Vikings and Ravens involved?
ConfirmedBills trade Pick 62 and 173 for 60 and 228.
I’ll pick shortly after confirmation.
For real. We got crushed on targeted players the last few picks in the 2nd.Can y'all not pick every guy on our short list![]()
Big fan of this pick, and the logic that accompanies it. Jameson Williams is absolutely a guy who could fall through the extension cracks, and Ayomanor is a very good WR prospect in my opinion. I think he's a better pick than Ersery or especially Milum would have been. Was hoping to get Ersery or Milum here to build up the OL, but that will have to wait until later.
At pick 62, the Detroit Lions select Elic Ayomanor, WR Stanford
Tim Patrick was awesome for us last year, and I'm glad he's back, but he's got a pretty long injury history and we are very thin behind our starters at WR. Ayomanor is a big, physical X wide receiver who is great at intermediate and deep routes and can immediately help with the WR3 role. He's also a very good blocker, so will fit perfectly into the Lions' needs. I suspect that the Lion's cap money is going to run out by the time that Jamo's contract extension comes up, so we have a long-term need at WR2, which Ayomanor should be able to develop in to.
I like him and think in other eras he would be much higher and have a 1st Round gradeI need to leave for work now so I’ll write more later. But going into the draft I wanted a corner, a receiver and an Edge with the first three picks. Traded for Tyreek, took Amos in the first, now we’ll take JT Tuimoloau, edge, the Ohio State
He seems to have a range of expectations, although that might be more due to the depth at edge this year. 2nd round seems to be the consensus. With some putting him in the third and at least one guy thinking he’s a top ten player (which is a stretch)
Tuimoloau broke into the Buckeyes’ starting lineup in 2022, and he naturally saw his production increase as a result. He finished the year with 28 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 11 tackles for a loss, and two interceptions.
His best game came against Penn State, where he became the first FBS player since 2000 with two sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown in a single game. He ended the year with a first-team All-Big Ten nod.
Tuimoloau’s production took a huge leap in 2024, as he finished the year with 12.5 sacks, 22 tackles for a loss and 61 total tackles in 16 games. Not only did he continue his streak of being a first-team All-Big Ten member, but Ohio State ended up winning the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Tuimoloau has the length and frame needed to take blocks head-on at the NFL level. Though he projects best as a base 4-3 defensive end, he could project as a 3-4 outside linebacker if need be, too. He should be able to step into a key role for a team’s defensive line rotation right out of the gate.
There are some limitations with Tuimoloau, as his flexibility is pretty average for his position, and his long speed isn’t anything to write home about. His best bet to reach his potential is to improve his hand usage and work on his speed and counter abilities.
High floor, decent ceiling. He’ll fit right in with the bills immediately as a rotational piece and develop into more.
You said it with such little fan fare. What stands out about Swinson is the 58 tackles that go with 8.5 sacksWashington selects EDGE Bradyn Swinson, LSU
Nothing to add of substance to this thread but just had to poke at this sentence since OZ then went on to write a novel.I need to leave for work now so I’ll write more later

Will the “write more” version come in paperback as well?
(Great stuff!)
So the edit an hour later was in fact the "more later"? I'm not saying that in a dubious or negative way. I just would have thought you meant like, later later, like after work.Posted 7:08 AMNothing to add of substance to this thread but just had to poke at this sentence since OZ then went on to write a novel.I need to leave for work now so I’ll write more later

Washington St. WR Kyle Williams is visiting today with the Tennessee Titans. Williams was former teammates with Cam Ward, who is tracking to be Tennessee’s No. 1 overall pick. Tennesse’s OC Nick Holz was also Williams’ OC at UNLV. Now Williams could be in play to team up again with Ward and Holz.
I was rushing out the door to get to jury duty this morning and threw that pick out quickly, mainly cuz I didn't want to leave you guys hanging. I'd been hoping Jack Sawyer would fall to me but Swinson is a nice consolation prize. He looks relentless, aggressive, nice hands and footwork and he's good against the run as you mentioned - just a solid all around player. I'm happy how it turned out but a little bummed that it's over now - we have no picks in round 3! I probably should've tried harder to trade down. You said it with such little fan fare. Look around this area at other Edge/DE types, you won't see as much of that kind of activity, he's just as good if not better than 4-5 names that went before him at the position
Not sure why he isn't being discussed more, Day 2 sleeper for sure IMO

ETA: Could've sworn. But nevermind I don't see him taken. I guess I was confusing him with Donovan Jackson, but that still doesn't make sense because they were both on my list originally and both are gone from the list. But anyway, my bad, and good pick.
