FF Players Helped and Hurt the Most by Round 1 (1 Viewer)

Helped:

1) Frank Gore - they didn't draft Spiller/Best and instead added two studs on the Oline

2) Tony Romo - Austin + Dez + Witten should land him with 4200+ and 28+

3) Carson Palmer - IF they use Gresham as a pass catching TE, this O returns to being more prolific in a hurry (also from adding Antonio Bryant)

4) Mendenhall - Big Ben stays, draft a solid Olineman, Holmes out, looks like this team could return to power football with Mendenhall leading the way.

5) Forsett? - I wouldn't say him yet, they'll probably add someone in Day 2 and make this a RBBC

6) Jerome Harrison? - See #5

Hurt:

1) Lynch - probably done in Buffalo?

2) Miles Austin? - Maybe not in year 1 or year 2, but I think 3+ years out we'll see that Dez is the better talent and Austin is the Boldin to Dez's Fitzgerald.

Helped

- The Jets and Vikings Ds will probably be the first two selected in most drafts this year

- Maroney's value may actually have been helped by the fact that one of the top backs didn't go there. There's still time for the Pats to take a back or trade for one tonight, but if they wait past the second round, Maroney has to move back up fantasy draft boards a little.

- Lynch may still have been helped - this sure seems like a sign that they're willing to get rid of him. His trade value will be highest once the top backs are off the board, so we probably won't see a trade until late tonight or tomorrow.

Hurt

- Fred Jackson's value, on the other hand, was pretty much destroyed

- Sorry, Sproles owners

- If anyone was counting on one of the Detroit backs, it might be time to look elsewhere

- Eddie Royal's value probably went down, although it's hard to say where it was in the first place

As a Grant owner, I'm pleased. All three of the backs who would be obvious "replacement" candidates are gone, and any one of them could have been available at the GB pick. Instead, he should benefit from a nice boost to the quality and depth of his O-line.

Same with Jones/Forsett in Seattle. They get an excellent lineman, and no new competition so far (although I could see the 2nd tier prospects competing with them more than Grant).

If Roy Williams still had ANY value, it is now gone.
