FFA In Death Spiral? (1 Viewer)

I stopped visiting the forums as much (and thus less posting) because of the new board.  All the issues already mentioned here plus the fact I can't easily search the threads I've already posted in.

Is Bueno banned? Wasn't he the guy who had his attractive gf/wife in a bikini as his avatar? 

The no images thing has really put a damper on this place. I've had at least a dozen who's hottest threads I wanted to start but the idea of just putting a bunch of links in the OP makes it seem like a wasted effort.

I don't think that's really an issue as millennials have grown up with the internet and probably don't take the comments here or any message board too seriously.  The negative comments here pale in comparison to most boards out there.  And I'm sure most of them would chalk those negative comments up to a bunch of bitter middle aged men, you know get off my lawn type of stuff.

Bueno posts under some other aliai, including Officer Pete Malloy, Beavers and Annyong.

We're definitely in a bad cycle in terms of the quality of the most frequent posters. A lot of the interesting people left.  I don't want to get into the GM thread effect because people take it personally but that's a huge reason for the decline in quality.  I agree on the lack of threads per page as well. With all of the giant page one threads that rarely fall far from the top it's almost impossible to for anything new and interesting to last more than a day.  I still start my day with a quick scan of the board to see what's going on but more often than not I see nothing and move on to other places. I've recently started posting on reddit and had back to back to back 3000+ point posts.  I enjoy the score keeping aspect over there.  No idea what it means but getting points is fun.

The front page shows 25 threads.  2 are pinned.  That leaves 23 and very few are new threads. 

The people who used to start threads don't start threads anymore because they've scattered to the hockey thread or the soccer thread or the basketball thread or the gambling on soccer and basketball and hockey thread or the thread about going outside for a run or the 17 threads about movies or the y thread for each TV show that's ever on the TV or the thread about not having a TV or the thread about not having cable or the thread about Netflix or the thread about nothing. 

The people who still start threads are pretty much the worst people imaginable.  

The millennials are sallies. 

It's horrible reading or writing and definitely quoting anything on the phone. 

And politics season is just warming up. 

 
It really is a shame because I did/do enjoy coming here to see what other folks who share similar interests have on their minds.  Shouldn't we all be getting divorced by now and going out and horing it up like we did in our early 20's?

And come to think of it, the board's downward turn most likely occurred when Mr. nomarriage.com got himself married.  That's when we all realized that everyone has to grow up sometime....

True, if anything, we need to start a thread bashing the few who keep bumping a hundred page Pearl Jam thread.  I still dont understand that.

Yeah, no ####. They haven't been relevant since '93. Supposedly they played Tampa the other night and there were like 8,000 empty seats and people were leaving before the first encore.

I still enjoy the site and agree with some others who said that they get most of their news here.  I'm not a fan of social media sites - there's only so many hours I have to browse in a week and there seems to be too much noise or too narrow a focus. 

I'm going to make a conscious effort to start more threads - hope others do too.

 
There should only be one political thread. Everyone that wants to read political threads reads them all, so please merge them into one so more topics are on page 1.

I don't mid clicking on page 2, but on my phone the "loading" pop up doesn't go away and is a total pain in the ###.

 
The mods drove most people away. Solid business decision to ban people as much as possible. That's how you attract new users.

 
I honestly don't see it being much different than it's ever been. Some of you guys are probably just getting old.

There will be come traffic come football season. I can't think of anyone that we've been banned that we'd want back.

What if we made a pledge to invite one or two real people here to the FFA?

Not aliases of yourself or someone else but more people (friend, wife, kids, cousins, neighbors, etc. etc.).  You don't need to tell them who you are on here.
