As I said:

If someone wants to argue it is never appropriate to use that word, even in kind in response to someone who first used it as a slur against you, OK, but it seems a tad hypocritical particularly coming from those who never complain here about the use of lib****.

You think it is never appropriate in any context, fine, I will accept that and I have never used that word in this forum, even before the language filter screened it out. - However Sho was trying to make a joke out of the term being used against him and did not seem to be using as a slur or making fun of those with special needs - so again taken in context I didn't find it particularly offensive.

And it should be noted you were the same person who was indignant that I used JFC (James Fenimore Cooper?) because it was offensive to the Christians here and hence was never appropriate, but someone after a board search found you had used it yourself on multiple occasions.

And while you are still on your high horse have you ever once complained about a form of the R word used here calling someone a lib****?

Also if you want to bring up racial slurs, HellToupee has referred specifically to Mexicans as bad hombres or banditos on numerous occasions, which Hispanics find offensive, yet not a peep out of you or the usual suspects in condemnation of him for that.

And I don't usually have a problem with African Americans using the N word and I have known gay men who have referred to themselves or someone else gay with a word rhyming with maggot. That said, for someone not an AA to use the N word or a non-gay to use the F word is probably never appropriate (their might be some weird context where it is but I doubt it).

I didn't post it to get sho banned. Just to tell him to shut up and stop talking about how others behave.  

But if someone else posted the R word, N word or F word there are about 100 guys here that would label you forever. 

Clearly many here don't know any mentally disabled people if that's just a regular word in their vocabulary. To each their own.

I dont know the story behind the above but I just want to clarify that my sole point was about wasting time arguing about something posted on another board, not the content of what was posted.

The main reason for this post is because I dont want to appear insensitive regarding the use of the R word or N word. I dont use either word and frankly both words make me sick. If the F-word is a slur against gay people, add it to the above.

However, if you mean the F-word as in dropping an F-bomb, then I'm guilty from time to time.  :thumbup:

Who cares about certain words? Context means everything.

Fine.  AA's can use the N word.  Homosexuals can use the F word.  What context is the R word okay because by your logic you're insulting Sho in a not cool manner?

 
A few years back a fellow poster insinuated that I drive a PT Cruiser.  I was pretty horrified at that accusation.  Closest I've ever come to hitting the 'report' button.  

What do you guys think?  Was a line crossed there?  What would you have done.

The inconsistency and bias in the moderation is pathetic.  I can get endlessly attacked and nothing happens.  

90 percent of responses to anyone saying anything remotely against the Trump/Republican-hate get met with personal attacks.  But yet the endless foolish behavior is tolerated/encouraged by the lack of action.  It has to be responded to and escalate before anything gets done.  And it is rarely the instigator who gets nailed.   Unprovoked attacks calling people stupid ignorant bigots is perfectly fine here.

IMO, calling someone a "bigot" is not a personal attack as long as it can be supported with evidence of bigotry.

Calling someone "stupid" would cross the line, but saying "That's stupid" would not.

You just love to play the victim. The laughing emoji Trump crowd also attacks people every single day usually without consequence.

And if one doesn't want to be called a bigot, then they shouldn't make bigoted remarks. Being labeled ignorant is certainly appropriate if one doesn't know what they are talking about and/or can't back it up with any authoritative link or data. As Scooter mentioned, being called "stupid" is inappropriate, but saying that someone said something that is stupid or made a stupid remark, is not the same thing and usually will not result in a time out.
