damn you!Heading to Halloween Horror Nights this weekend (also Volcano Bay Tomorrow).
Some Horror films coming out soon.
Leatherface and Jigsaw!
I read It.......a really long time ago. Caught the movie and it was good but not really scary to me as an adult. But I can see it having a big impact on teens.Saw "It" over this past weekend.
Absolute gold. 4/5 stars.
A bang up job by Pennywise and all the kids. Probably one the very best King novel adaptions ever made easily. We are very much looking forward to Chapter 2.
Devil's Rejects is well done.thought this thread would be swarming with it being the weekend before Halloween. been trying to find a horror movie to get me a little spooked and can't find any. Not scared of ghosts or that stuff, crazy people/families used to work..... anybody have any recommendations?
didnt know there was a Creep 2. Really liked the first oneCreep 2 was really, really good. One of the best portrayed serial killers ever. Annabelle Creation was also decent. Love how they tie everything into a cohesive timeline in The Conjuring's universe.
Everything else I've watched recently has been ####.
Amazon rental.didnt know there was a Creep 2. Really liked the first one
where did you watch this?
So... I am NOT a fan of horror films. I am definitely more of a senseless comedy or even rom-com fan. Basically I stick to light fare.Saw "It" over this past weekend.

Haha, I liked this one.A Christmas Horror Story
Nice movie of interwoven stories. Not overly gory and well done IMO. It has William Shatner too. Perfect for Christmas. 4/5.
This one sounds rather interesting. I am a sucker for the found footage films.Mortal Remains - Amazon Prime - Found Footage about a trio making a documentary about a little known oddball filmmaker who was rumored to use cadavers in his horror films. This is one of the better movies I've watched recently.
My biggest gripe with most found footage movies is that half to two thirds of the film is unnecessary filler where nothing happens. This movie manages to be very tense throughout. I think part of it is that it has a plot that hasn't been done before so you really don't know what to expect. There are so many possibilities as to what's going on and where the film is going to end up. The ending, which ultimately doesn't answer every question brought up, is still pretty clever. Recommended, and it's free with Prime!
I remember liking 4. If I remember right, it did the same as Final Destination 5 (which I also liked) in that it tied up the series and linked in with the 1st one fairly well.was watching scream 4 yesterday.. never knew there was a 4th. good eye candy
Texas Chainsaw Massacre?what was the name of the movie that starts out on some country road where a guy in a truck picks up a hitchhiker and pushes her down into the foothold of the passenger side and begins to poke her with a pole or broomstick. It gets worse from there.
Lots of great stuff on Shudder and in general, if I’m browsing Netflix/Prine/Shudder for something I’ve never seen or heard of, random movies on Shudder tend to deliver way more often than the other two.Shudder has a free 60-day trial right now. Have to start trial by 2/17.

just saw Houses October Built on Netflix myself, good movie. a lot of these on Netflix you go in with tempered expectations, and this one surpassed them well. Loved the scene where the girl walks onto the RV with the guymy recent view list
The houses October built Decent film about a crew travelling the states on a road trip in search of the Ultimate haunted house. its a found footage film. Decent movie on Netflix. I was hunting for anything similar to Hell House LLC and it sorta kinda hit that. Just not as good as Hell House 6/10
Annabelle creation like others I thought it was pretty decent. I heard some bad reviews but I enjoyed it. also has some rewatchability
IT a lot of people I spoke to crapped on this film. I thought it was really well done. It wasn't 'scary' but it was a real good horror flick
Didn't find it scary at all. Really don't get the hype for this one.I mentioned this in the Netflix thread. Has anyone watched Veronica yet? It's a Spanish demon possession film that's supposed to be damn scary.
I'll post a review after this weekend's viewing.
Contracted seemed like they ran out of time to wrap it all up and the end was a quick edit job.The Autopsy of Jane Doe - Pretty good. Not a lot of outright horror but has a creepiness to it since it's primarily set in a morgue. Worth checking out.
Contracted - Meh. I thought the lead actress was good in this but overall it was fairly pointless. Some sort of deeper meaning to it, even if just at the end, would have helped.
I loved this one and totally agree about the atmosphere. It's a must see for all horror fans IMOThe Autopsy of Jane Doe - Pretty good. Not a lot of outright horror but has a creepiness to it since it's primarily set in a morgue. Worth checking out.
Exactly. It could have been elevated a bit if they gave the story some kind of message or meaning at the end. Just felt flat when it was over.Contracted seemed like they ran out of time to wrap it all up and the end was a quick edit job.
Yeah, it had a horror videogame feel to it, especially in the hallways and elevator. Good movie.I loved this one and totally agree about the atmosphere. It's a must see for all horror fans IMO
Bone Tomahawk (Western-Horror)Keith R said:Any Amazon Prime sleepers I've overlooked? Liked The Blackcoat's Daughter but most of what I've found there is not worth seeing.
Absolute true terror.....especially if you have kids. Just brutal.Still really enjoy "Megan is Missing"
I haven't watched the last two seasons yet, but really enjoyed the first two.Absolute true terror.....especially if you have kids. Just brutal.
Black Mirror. Sci-Fi, Horror Twlight Zone type show on Netflix.....what a revalation!!! Watched all 4 seasons. Highly reccommend.
Even better than season 1 and 2.I haven't watched the last two seasons yet, but really enjoyed the first two.
Dammit, I read that as The Panty Ghost.Bone Tomahawk (Western-Horror)
What We Do in the Shadows (comedy-horror)
The Girl With All The Gifts
Green Room
Open Grave
Bad Ben Trilogy(http://www.badbenmovie.com/)
The last Exorcism
The Pantry Ghost Documentary
Love Grave Encounters. There were some genuinely creepy moments in there. Of course the abandoned psych hospital themes always gets me.For those that have Shudder - Grave Encounters is available. Probably my all time favorite found footage movie. (It is in my top 3 for sure, along with the original Blair Witch and the original Paranormal Activity)

Was shocked at how much I enjoyed Troll Hunter.Oh yeah, and for those that want to mix some humor with their found footage, Troll Hunter is a blast too.
