I'm going local for my teasers. Actually taking "investors" into a syndicate so I have to watch the lines a lot closer. Should be interesting. I doubt the wheels get off the ground by the preseason, but we'll see.

I'm down on this year....looking over my records last year was so far above the previous years it was ridiculous. I had 4 reg season sweeps last year PLUS the gigantic preseason week 4 sweep. In the previous 4 years I didn't have a single sweep and I played LESS teams. In 2008 and 2009 seasons I was break even on teasers. Small sample size and all that but I just can't comprehend ever seeing another year like last year.

I think the teams with this CBA are converging. At least that's the logic I'm going to run with for the time being. The FA pool is also playing into this. There is always some give and take with this system, and monitoring where the lines are set to avoid the teasers will be key at some point. This is basically all I do anymore, once the 180 ship sales I'm retired for good.

Any idea why some shops are running scared from U.S. clients, while a few others are standing firm?

Probably because their principals are US based and want to be able to go home for Thanksgiving every year.

Spiro who runs greek supposedly has enough money that he just didn't feel like dealing with the US anymore, article on espn about him "retiring" since he's a grandpa now.The US government has made it incredibly difficult for these offshore shops to receive and send out money. I don't see it getting any better in the near future. This country is a long way from allowing sports betting online, a LONG way.

What this Thread is doing on Page 4, I don't know...

I've been trailing baseball plays all season (thanks bmj and others)...along the way, I've tried to learn a few things, and for the most part I'm making more good choices than bad ones when venturing out on my own. No one in their right mind should trail my baseball plays, because I'm purely a novice at this, but I'm bored and need something to wager on so I am playing:

8:05 PM: Cleveland Indians @ Texas Rangers (-1.5 +135)

Derek Holland is pretty hot pitching for the Rangers. His 1st several starts at home, he wasn't very good, but the last 2, he's had consecutive solid performances. Great road pitcher, looks like he's in a decent groove now wherever he pitches, and his confidence is brimming...right before the trade deadline, the Indians acquired P Ubaldo Jiminez from the Rockies. He was a solid pitcher the last few years, but this season he's struggled, and his velocity is definitely down. He's very eager for a fresh start in the AL, and I think he might be a victim tonight of 'trying too hard' in his 1st start for his new Team, playing on the road and going against a hot pitcher. His stuff shouldn't be too hard for the Ranger bats to figure out, and on the flipside, the Indians bats have to go up against a hot lefty who's started to realize that he can win games not only relying on his arm, but by on the defense behind him. At least that's what it looks like to me, which doesn't mean squat.

that is a lot of unders. Have you projected the rest of the teams to make sure it all balances out? (seems like a lot of OVERs would be needed)

Those lines look pretty good, hard to beat anything with a 40 cent line. The only one even close is det u8 -140 but -140 is terrible

Exactly, +9 in a game totaled 33 is a completely different bet than +9 in a game totaled 48

5dimes is a terrible book for teasers, they shade their lines so that they're not tease-able.

I experimented last night and heritage is also terrible, they're at +160 for 3 teamers even though their payout chart shows +180 so don't load up there for teasers either.

Interesting note this morning from Peter King on NFL training camps

I think the defense is ahead of the offense in the camps I've seen. In some cases, far ahead. The Eagle D was devouring the offense in the Friday morning practice, two days after the Jets offense (minus a few first-teamers) could get very little done against the defense.From what I hear, that's common around the league. It's easier to throw your body around on defense than it is to do something a little more in-sync, like have 11 people moving in the right direction on a pass play that might be complicated for players who haven't studied it very thoroughly yet.

Looking at teasers for week 1x I think in addition to the standard 6pt 3 teamers it might be smart to play some of the more exotic teasers 3 team 10 pointers and some sites even offer 13 pointers. All dogs. The 13 point teasers work well on games lined at 1/1.5 and 4/4.5Getting 13pts in games with totals at 35ish is nuts, example cincy +17.5 when the game total is 35.5ETA: I also might play these now instead of waiting til wednesday. I think most of the dogs are going to get bet with the short training camp.

I have money with them still. Not a substantial amount though. Sportsbook is my primary place though. My limits have never been cut, unlike alot of others here. Perhaps because I'm kind enough to give them a few bucks back in the casino from time to time playing craps or 3 card poker.

You guys might wanna fade the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason. Sirius NFL Radio was at their camp today and they had a long conversation with Kevin Kolb. His head is SPINNING trying to learn Wiz's offense, and he readily admitted it. The short camp means he has to cram a lot of new plays into a very tight schedule. The offense he's in now is nothing like the offense he ran under Andy Reid.

Probably a good idea to fade any QB learning a new system this summer, for that matter.

Mort was on the radio this morning and said that usually the first few weeks of the regular season we see some pretty ugly football. I've never noticed it but I'm usually so excited for football that I could care less. He then went on to say that he talked to the hoodie and NE has 9 plays they're currently comfortable running in their offense. 9 plays.
