FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (8 Viewers)

for the sake of pondering/discussion:When Gronkowski returned to the Baltimore game and played injured, what did he do? Did he have any catches?ETA: nm, found the play by play. no catches in the 4th.
I want to say no. I'm not positive though. Officially making OchoCinco yes reception +105 a play for 1 unit. I hate the two week wait for this game. 16 ### #### units on this game and it's only Wednesday.
I just counted, I've got 20 bets so far. :bag:

 Clear is +160 at betus
Don't know if this matters or not, but during the media sessions this week where they had Patriots players sitting at tables fielding questions, there were bottles of red Gatorade sitting on the table at each of their spots.
I know the Giants had water for the shower last superbowl and the final game of this season against Dallas when they won the division. It's a little harder to find any info on the Pats.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm up 7,024 units the past two days. I couldn't post my plays because of the board being down, but I am up BIG!

At least one of the pats SB was water.

The site was down earlier so I didn't get to post this but I like the Hurricanes -2' over the Bruins +550

Another one I like is that they'll re-wrap GRONK's ankle before half...with red tape. New England likes to use team colors and I have footage of them getting away from that last time against the Giants, they used white. I show them using red against the Rams in '02 and expect they'll get back to that. Max'd it at +220 at the greek and +245' at pinny but it's off the board now at both. Still see it up on sportsbook at +135, which is still a play imo, but a 50 limit. {/Marshall Plan}
:lmao:

Grantland SB preview theorizes that Belicheck (in conspiracy with Gronkowski's dad) are playing up the severity of Gronkowski's ankle injury. That the Patriots went out of their way to list it as a "high ankle sprain" being one possible tip-off.

This will only add to my hatred of Belicheck and subtract from my bankroll

This part of the article is the more realistic part
In the first game between these two teams, a healthy Gronkowski was held mostly in check until the fourth quarter. He had caught just four of the nine passes thrown to him for a total of 35 yards up to that point, but finished by going 4-of-6 for 66 yards and scoring what looked to be the game's winning touchdown on fourth down. Gronkowski is one-of-a-kind, but the Giants have had some success this year against tight ends by virtue of their defensive personnel, namely safeties Antrel Rolle, Kenny Phillips, and Deon Grant. Rolle, in particular, serves as the prototypical cover safety that teams look to acquire to guard the new generation of dominant tight ends around the league.
The giants D is good against the TE position.

I used to think that. Then Vernon Davis had two long TD's against the Giants in the NFC Championship Game. That being said, I am backing the Giants just the same.

more stuff for those who like the giants + whatever is out there:

record of teams beaten by pats in playoffs 20-12 (+8)

record of teams beaten by giants in playoffs 38-10 (+28)

Ottawa -140

Ottawa just completed a brutal road stretch and has had a few days to let it sink in. Isles are a team I don't really like betting against but I think the Sens are worth paying for tonight. gllllll

:lmao: I read this too. Yea, Belichick's first order of business in getting prepared for the Super Bowl: "Hey Gronk, I've got an idea. Why don't you get your dad on the phone. I'd like him to do a local interview and let it slip that you've got a high ankle sprain, so we can trick the Giants into not properly preparing for you. Bwhahahahahaha!!![/evillaugh]."My take is this: Once Gronk's dad let the cat of the bag, Billy B. went into damage control mode using various shenanagans. Sending him out to media day without the boot. I guarantee Gronk was wearing his boot immediately thereafter. Belichick's playing games with the injury report. Giving all sorts of details about Gronk's injury when his standard M.O. would be to list Gronk on the injury report as "lower body" or "drum stick" or something similarly vague.

Is Kelly Clarkson still a bit chunky? No on wearing a dress -180 seems like a no brainer over at SB if she's got some meat on her bones.

Giants (+3) over Patriots

Let's get the most pressing Super Bowl prop out of the way right at the top. Double V is goin' under 1:36 on Kelly Clarkson singing the national anthem . Tons of research went into that decision, and it's not something Double V takes lightly. More prop wagers to come at the end, but now let's focus on the rematch of the Nov. 6 game at Foxborough.

The Patriots opened up in that game at minus-8 and closed as a big, fat 9-point favorite. The Giants won, 24-20, covering the inflated spread, and the game went under the total of 51. Statistically, the game was very close. Each team had 23 first downs, the Giants had 68 plays, the Pats had 75, but New York edged New England in time of possession, 30:17 to 29:43. And if you throw in Super Bowl XLII, when the New Yorkers beat the Patriots, 17-14, these teams have a recent history of keeping it close.

Tom Brady or Eli Manning? According to one online survey, married women prefer Eli (54 percent) over Tom (46 percent). What about the historians? If Brady wins and gets his fourth ring, he joins Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw in a very, very exclusive club, and would have to be considered in the "best ever" conversation. If Manning gets his second ring, he moves right into John Elway, Roger Staubach and Bob Griese territory. And if you are thinking Eli is just Peyton 's scrawny younger brother, he ain't. Check him out in that ESPN commercial where he sticks a finger in Peyton's ear. He has bulked up on top, allowing him to take a beating, as he did Jan. 22 against the 49ers, and keep bouncing back up. Love Brady, but Eli's my guy in this spot. He has been there and done that. Win, win each time he faced Brady. Manning has also been amazing in the playoffs, rolling to a 7-1 record straight up and against the spread. And even more impressive, Eli has led the Giants to a gorgeous 6-0 record on the road, 6-0 against the spread, and 6-0 as an underdog. Not so impressive for Brady, at least the last couple of years. The Patriots are 2-2 since 2010, and have covered only one of four. Edge Manning.

We also got a slight homefield edge for the younger Manning since the older Manning is a virtual icon in Indianapolis, and the Patriots are not thought of in a warm and fuzzy way.

There have been two quarterback rematches in Super Bowl history. Terry Bradshaw against Staubach and Troy Aikman against Jim Kelly . In each case, the QB who won the first game won the rematch. Just sayin'.

Vic is calling for the hat trick, which would be the third time a QB has won the rematch, and looking for the Giants to win another ring with a 28-25 victory.

Before you put the paper down, how about a quick visit to Prop City, baby:

* There has never, ever been one, but Double V is looking for overtime Sunday, and will drop $100 to win back $1,200.

* >We like Tom Brady over 39 passing attempts and . . .

* Since we think the Giants are gonna win a close one, we'll grab the New Yorkers at 4-1 to win by 1 to 6 points . How about $100 on each?

* Gotta drop a hundy on Mario Manningham to score the first TD with odds of 12-1.

* A hundy each on Michael Boley over 6 tackles and assists and . . .

* Rob Ninkovich over 5 tackles and assists.

* And finally - and we're doubling up on this one - $200 on Indy-born Mathias Kiwanuka to go over 4 tackles and assists.

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up, since it's the method I prefer personally. 5dimes now takes Visa CC straight through the website, so you don't have to do WU/MG unless you prefer that where WU/MG get a rub for like 15ish bucks for using a CC. Sorry if this is old news, I've been using other books, very happy this is finally available in time for the SB since it's always been a problem for me in the past.

BOL to everybody on Sunday

Kurt's book with no super bowl props up, it's been 12 days since the championship games? When they go up (if they go up) we're going to get the most bland selection ever.
