FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

Washington Nationals -136

Wolf's first start after his personal catcher Kottaras traded. He worked with Kottaras 71 times over the past three seasons and Kottaras was only starting on days when Wolf pitched.

I think San Diego should be the favorite to win tonight. But I'm not confident betting on them in Eovaldi's first start.

However, the under is 8-2 in Bellino's last ten games, and underdogs won five of the last six games when he was behind the plate.

I'm not going to pull the trigger on the Padres ML but I just thought that was interesting.

Dickey is 7-3 o/u on the road, the Mets are 31-14 o/u on the road, 28-7 o/u against LHP, and 14-3 o/u against LHP on the road.

Behind the plate, Bob Davidson is 13-7 o/u in 2012.

Does anyone have a good (free?) site to check for steamers?
of the Cleveland variety? PM Dentist
thanks for the laugh. G1.Side note. I like Scott Piercy over Goosen(-145) in the canadian open. Piercy leads the pga tour in sunday scoring. Been playing well of late. 40/1 to win tourney. worth a flier. He has a first round matchup against garrigus as well, but i don't like it as much.
Someone, Anyone........ please tell me you cashed a 40/1 ticket along with me.

Absolutely sick play! I cashed the matchup but didn't play the future.

Lol...thanks. Garrigus could have taken Piercy down if his putter hadn't failed him. I was actually relieved when he fell out of the lead on Saturday. Otherwise he was looking at trying to wire the field (always added pressure). Piercy said in an interview after the 2nd round Friday he would take two more 67's and like his chances. It proved to be correct, but the way everyone else was playing, didn't sound right to me. Anyway, he now gets to go to Augusta for the first time next yr.

I watch a fair share of golf and with not many notables in the field I was pulling for old Scott yesterday and today because I remembered this post.I didnt think he was gonna win when he bogeyed 13? I was actually kinda relieved because I thought maybe you didnt play it.So awesome to win the golf futures.

Very interesting bump, crazy posts back then. Some of those guys are still here and some aren't. I was an idiot then and I'm still an idiot that's for sure. Also crazy how the offshore and overall gambling landscape has changed in a matter of 5 years. We all used to be fully stocked on offshore books and able to move money freely with Neteller.

Are you in GA?
Thankfully not, I guess I have won that part of the wager with Sonny. I am still chugging along here and there. Keeping outs open is the hardest part and unlike Lumpy I have kind of shied away from offshores. Not because I don't have access, but because they are a pain in the ### to deal with and I'm afraid of them shutting my acct down. There's ways to get around it but for now I don't need any of them - if I do then I will open up and pursue that option yet again. I can see why people come and go on this board and in this profession. First of all, it's not easy to win. Second of all, it takes a toll on the mind and body. You almost have to be heartless and not care. So many bad beats that after a while there is no such thing as one.

I did zero research on last nights games & should not have posted those plays. I was disoriented from the Nats.
no worries. I was on the Nats as well.... unfortunately I parlayed them with Pitt. I knew the price on MacDonald was too good to be true. Talk about a guy going from good to bad  :wish I had seen your cincy post:

De Vries only gave up two runs in six innings against the White Sox last Tuesday. I think the Twins keep their offense going tonight versus the left-handed Quintana. They are strong against lefties.

I like the Tigers to keep up the good work they have been doing after they lost their hold on 1st place. Scherzer has allowed three runs, six hits, and struck out 17 in the 14 innings of his last two starts. And he has already won at Fenway this year. And this may be the last time to fade the Red Sox before Big Papi comes back from the DL.

I wish I had gotten down on the Pads last night at +155 but I took +135 anyway. Volquez has allowed three runs or less in six games. In those six games he only gave up three runs once.

I think i'll join you with a few of these. I made the mistake of straying too far from the wagering thread and exploring the rest of the FFA. Whew, it's safer staying in here and wagering a few hundred on men's rowing or some sport i never heard of, than it is trying to discuss any sort of political issue out in the wilderness of the FFA.

I was thinking about today's card when I was out and about, running errands, and after taking a step back I bet that if you just picked ML at random you would hit about 50% of them today.

PSA: Fade Beckett hard tomorrow

Every time he throws over 110 pitches in a start, he comes back the next game and gets obliterated/hurt - add in the fact, he's a complete head case and trade rumors here are swirling and he's going to get lit tomorrow night IMHO.

Been waiting to make this bet for 5 days.

mo, the Phils haven't won since you bet them to win the East last week.Welcome to my life.
I bet he was just wondering if they had won one
Don't be so grumpy. mo will laugh it off. I know I would.
That's all you can do  . The timing was definitely not the best, but hopefully the end result is the same
Long season. I actually think you'll win the bet.

any of those row boat races going on today?
Results up, doing OK so far: http://www.london2012.com/schedule-and-results/day=28-july/list.htmlPost race coverage of the full races if you have Comcast, in HD and pretty sweet: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/rowing/heats-m2-w2-m1x-w1x-m4x-w4x-m2x-lm4-m8.html
It sounds like our boy Drysdale is doing well so far. What about this Ondrej Synek character? 5D has them matched up right now:

Well it was these two from the start, so the fact that we got in at +200 is just fantastic value. I think it's up for grabs, and I'd still lean Mahe to pull it out. You truly can't read into heat scores. Even head to head, as long as you qualify (even in a semi-final), in non-olympic courses where the water has a current, lane positioning is absolutely crucial. These are man-made bodies of water in olympic events, so lane position is irrelevant, you just have to qualify. Not on a large scale, but there's always a bit of "playing possum" when you compare times with that said, even head to head, no one wants to tip their hand/wants to give the other crews a false sense of confidence. You see it when two crews in a heat/semi are neck and neck, but one crew takes their stroke rating down. They are not showing 110% just yet, gamesmanship. Plus these races are grueling, as long as they qualify they are conserving as much energy as possible. From a betting perspective, that is a book's best friend for someone going for the favorite, they have the potential to get their clocks cleaned. We are in a good spot as long as Mahe is in range, which is what makes these races so exciting. I think from what I've read he should've been the favorite from the onset, and I'm pretty psyched for this final.

ETA: Another really good way to read the results is as follows: For a single, a boat length lead is about one second; for a four, it's about two seconds; for an eight, it's four seconds. Very key to reading into the results. A length is a sizeable W in rowing, and a good barometer. Also helps you see how hard your boat got pushed by the competition. If it's not even close, they dial it down and go into conservation mode as stated above. So, Mahe won his heat vs. crappy competition in a single by 11 seconds. He was on cruise control for half the race, great sign. Why you can't compare him to the other heats, he wasn't even close to pushed. Same for Snyek, you basically can't compare their scores they both won by so much against garbage. Times in first two heats much lower because they were in danger of being relegated to the rep, or repechage. It's a "do or die" race where you have to place top two (or sometimes first) to make the semi, that's a death sentence since it's an extra race the automatic qualifiers don't participate in. So, we're in good shape, but I love breaking this stuff down because I know it from racing and it's fun to try to track.

Other races I'm on: Men's Four, Aussies set a world record in a tight heat. +300 :excited: Lightweight Men's Four GB +140 won a tight heat, so looking good and Men's Eight Not Germany +260 Germans looking good but I still like the bet.

Looking good thus far, gents.

Rumors tonight that Juve is nearing the signing of Robin Van Persie from Arsenal.

Their line is still at +130 on SB, but it's starting to trickle downwards across the pond. Also helping their cause, AC Milan sold off two of its best players to PSG a couple weeks ago.

At this point I'd take Juve against the field. This one may start to move quickly if this transfer gets done.

So, USA Tunisia Olympic BB. I get it that this matchup is just unfair, but +55.5 at 5Dimes? Would we venture to guess Coach K doesn't let it get that high, or is Tunisia really the little sisters of the poor that this line dictates?

Yup :tfp: i also got the ##### to win their series against the Braves for -200 for the year. i think they are 0-6 so far. I really hate baseball

Pittsburgh Pirates +106 [R Dempster - R - Action]

I am going to wager the Cubs trade Dempster to LA tomorrow. The Cubs are having a minor league pitcher travel to Chicago as a contingency to a Dempster transaction. And Cubs manager Dale Sveum said he would be "surprised" if Dempster was still with the team after Tuesday's trade deadline.

(If a trade does not occur Dempster is still 0-3 with a 3.20 ERA his last three vs Pittsburgh and Burnett is 5-0 against the Cubs.)
