Countdown anything you want.Bad beats you've taken.
not sold on the concept buddy, but i know there could be a lot of good conversations about the worst bad beats we have endured over the years. my memory sucks, but i know GR and Lumpy have a few they can share with the group, and rekindle the old  :wall:

Las Vegas Sharps Report - Thanksgiving Edition

HOUSTON AT DETROIT:

Sharps were very fond of Houston and the Over on the opening numbers of -3 and 48. The Texans are now up to -3.5 and even -4 in spots. We’ve told you in the past that it takes a lot of money to move a game off a three. Sharps were very surprised that a Super Bowl favorite in the AFC was only laying a field goal against a slumping team with a losing record from the NFC. They also expect a shootout with a pair of quarterbacks who know how to move the ball. We would expect some buy back on the underdog at +4.5, and on the Under at 51 based on our discussions with a few different syndicates. But, that wouldn’t be an “over the top” buyback…because early bettors are very happy with their positions.

WASHINGTON AT DALLAS:

A rare early move on a dog against a public favorite on a big public betting day. Normally, you can assume that squares (the general public) would back Dallas in a Thanksgiving game as a relatively small home favorite. This game opened at -4. Sharps hit underdog Washington right away and drove the line to +3. So many sharps wanted Washington that it was impossible to wait. Many groups have these teams rated dead even in their Power Ratings…which meant a number like four was an automatic bet signal. The total is up from 47 to 48.

NEW ENGLAND AT NY JETS:

The underdog and Under were hit right away here, and it wasn’t weather related. Global warming has made November mostly pleasant in the cities where weather can be a factor. Sharps liked the Jets at +7 enough to bring the line below that key number to +6.5. The opening total of 50.5 has been bet down to 48.5. We hear that sharps expect the Jets to follow the same gameplan that almost led to a big upset in Foxboro. That means running the ball and running the clock. It’s telling again that sharps went against a public favorite (in this case, New England) right away rather than waiting for the public to bet. They didn’t want to take any chances, they wanted their money in at +7.

TCU AT TEXAS:

This game also saw aggressive betting activity on the opener. Texas opened at -8, but was bet down to -7 as the home favorite. The total of 61 has come down three points to 58 because the Texas defense has been playing so well in recent weeks. Mixed messages there. The best way to interpret that is that Longhorn support showed up on the total because Under 61 or 60 offered more value in the minds of backers than Horns -8. TCU money showed up on the dog figuring an intense battle in any style of game. Remember that it takes less money to move a total, particularly a high opening total.

We expect sharp money to fade any public money that comes in on the holiday. So, if squares bet public favorites like Dallas, New England, and the Texas Longhorns, sharps will buy more of the underdogs if the lines go back up.

It was just shtick.Bad beat stories are great though.
No they are not. They aggravate the hell out of me

Thinking about

MIA +3.5 over Sea

SD +1.5 over Bal

CHI -0.5 over Min

NYG -2.5 over Gb

Anyone with strong reads one way or the other on any of these games?

Delaware is going to be strong in conference play. They were well on their way to kicking KState’s ### before Hagins cramped up.

Bender, I'm going to post this in here instead... I'm playing a pick 6 at Hollywood tomorrow because there is a 3-day carryover of over 500K. Plus there's been three days for the news to get out there and since it's also a holiday they are predicting a minimum 2.5 mil pot...probly closer to 3 mil actually, and could go over. I usually only really cap Del Mar and the major races but tonight will be different. Although it'll be nowhere near the prep I do for Del Mar, I do know most of these horses and the circuit. If anyone wants in besides Bender, it'll be $100 minimum and has to be paypal. Ticket total will be at least 2K. If interested, post your email and I will go through any other specifics (so as not to muddle the thread), or answer questions you may have regarding The Syndicate. :bowtie:

If you are into trends, such as road favorites off bye, that trend is 26-4 ATS. And Seattle fits right into that trend. I don't think I could bet on either SD or Baltimore at this point, but this week seems like a good situation to fade Balty from the sandwich + away game angle. The NYG are at home off a bye so I think that's a pretty good number to have. But it's kind of expensive at the moment if I recall correctly. And I don't really understand your Chicago line.

Pitt +3 1/2 (2 basketball units)
So I'm watching this one, and I remember now why i hate betting CBB. the officiating in this game seems extremely suspect to me. Pittsburgh is dominating so it isn't making a big difference, but it is kind of silly

Double D, I tried to tell you, GB! CSU is going to be a tough out this year, like last year. Tourney team who should be even better, including an upgrade, ironically enough, at coach. Eustachy is the ####.

Can't believe they were dogs tonight against Denver. Granted, I'm not some hoops handicapper, especially early on, but still.

I'm just tailing dude, that's what the guy said to do and I did it. I actually am going to stick to college hoops only though, the NBA tails are always complete FAIL for me. Stuckey picked five games already in the books and won four, I picked the loser.

Oh, sorry DD, I didn't know who stuckey was. Was wondering what that meant. I have read about 1/10 of the thread this month. Happy Thanksgiving!

You too! I just realized I had the Longhorn and BYU networks, not exactly giving thanks for realizing this.

CBBWright St. -7 1/215-8 +6.5 units
Added San Diego +3Pitt +3 1/2 (2 basketball units)Deleware +8 1/2Deleware on the ML at +320 bet enough to win 1 unit
And crashing back to earth I come. Still early, totally could have won that Pitt bet if it weren't for late foul's and the Deleware ML came close as well. I think the handicapping is solid, just get a lot of bad beats in CBB. I'll take the early success and keep pushing.

Jets are up to +7 1/2 so I added the following 2 7 point teasers:

Jets +14 1/2

Lions +10 1/2

and

Jets +14 1/2

Bucs +8

Happy Thanksgiving to my wagering iBuds. Best collection of people on the boards in here. Whether you just tail, post plays, or just have fun. You folks are the best imo.

My 12 pound turkey is in the oven, my dog is already smelling it and pacing around the kitchen.

Time to go watch the parade for a few...

Julian Edelman (Patriots) Total Receptions - Must Play

Over 3.5 (+105) sportsbook

Not playing any CBB today but there's a great card on the plate, I'd just rather watch football. Do have a couple of leans if you're looking for plays:

Stanford/Mizzou over 136

a SMALL play on the Minnesota ML

Gonzaga -11 1/2

Louisville -9

Drake/Cal over 144

Cal -11

Tail at your own peril, none of them technically qualify as plays for me, but I like them for various reasons. Everybody have a GREAT Thanksgiving!

Every year I get with the family for Thanksgiving.

Every year we get up early and make the Turkey dinner.

Every year I have 2 Bailys coffee, 6 Mimosa and devour a bunch of stuffed mushrooms and pigs in a blanket. I'm stuffed an hour before the Turkey is even ready.

Guess I might as well have a Dogfish 90 and try not and pass out. :banned: :banned: :banned:

Happy Thanksgiving!
