FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (13 Viewers)

In 119.1 innings pitched this season, Wade Davis owns a 5.43 ERA. Opponents are batting .319/.384/.463 against him. He has a 1.75 WHIP.

I've mentioned Laz Diaz in here before. I have a genuine dislike for the guy.
Laz Diaz was behind the plate when Zimmermann gave up three home runs to the Cubs in his last start. There were a total of six home runs in that game. Zimmermann should be good to go with Tim Welke behind the plate tonight in KC.

Need some help here with a local fantasy league question. Figured this would be a good place to hide it while getting some good input. Which of these players has the best chance to be a SUPERSTAR?

(...it doesn't have to be this season)

a) E.J. Manuel
b) T.Y. Hilton
c) Eddie Lacy
d) David Wilson
e) Gio Bernard

Also, don't worry about positional value. If your life depended
on correctly picking one of these guys to be a stud, who is it?

I have been all aboard the Hilton and Gio bandwagons, but I can't shake the feeling that Manuel is going to be special.

Manuel then Bernard imo

Others can be high end RB2's or WR2's, but I dont think any of them become bellcows. And as I say that, I am convincing myself its gonna be EJ Manuel.

Yeah, I like EJ a lot. He's a good kid too, which helps in rooting for him.

The answer may be Hilton. The answer certainly isn't ej. I've seen enough of his throws to know better.

Hope I'm wrong ... but I'm not.

It seems as though when everybody gets behind a lean, it almost always goes the other way. Fading the thread consensus from here on out.

Hate me like the "don't pass" guy, but my god.
nah, i don't this is the cause. I put this in the category of "don't bet too heavy on friggin' preseason football". This one is going to sting more then it should
:goodposting:

let's go LSU -5
My book has it -4...will probably lay something down on this

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the FSU coaches want him to stay in the pocket to make throws? Not to mention that they were leading so often, he really didn't need to run that much. But it seems like in Marrone's offense, he won't be reigned in. He can get 10-15 yards on the ground any time he feels like it. His strides are almost Kaepernickian.

Agreed. If he can keep his QB from getting destroyed that is.

dude rattled off an 84 yard TD today. I saw him do a backflip in the endzone last season. what more could anyone want

Wow man, Kaepernick? I hope you're right...i've rooted for that fellow for as long as he's been at FSU but I can tell you that there was more than 1 occasion that I thought FSU woulda been better off prepping Trickett to start. Dude can hit a linebacker between the 5 and the 6 like few others i've ever seen.

EJ has the size and skill to play in the NFL, no argument from me there. I'm not sure that he's got the talent upstairs to hang with NFL defenses. I swear to sweet lil Dr Detroits long lost child that I hope i'm wrong. Who knows, maybe Jimbo and Randy weren't coaching him up correctly...which wouldn't shock me given the amount of upside EJ had coming into FSU. I'm no guru, just a normal fella that roots like hell for the Noles and loses money to the books on the regular.

That said, i've always been big in Hilton, I think he's a star.

If someone wanted to buy some stock in the long-term success of a professional player...how one go about doing that? Rare specific high end sports cards? Seems like those could lose value regardless of the player.

I'd like to hedge my EJ bashing with some stock, at least i'll cash in if i'm wrong :)

Tomorrow night will be fun. You got Red Sox at Dodgers in prime time on ESPN. Dodgers came out flat as expected today, second game back from a roadie, and a day game to boot. It's going to be hard to decide which starting pitcher to back tomorrow. The ump doesn't call a ton of strikes, but is not necessarily an over/under guy either way. Dodgers are 6-0 SU in Capuano starts since the break with opponents averaging 3.8 runs in those games (Blue Jays, Reds, Cubs, Rays, Mets, Marlins).

I got 60 bucks on u8 in Seattle. If the Mariners don't score in this bottom of the 5th I'm going to take the over in the second half. There have been RISP and I am looking forward to the Mariner and Angel bullpens. I hope I see a 3. popcorn

My son dropped 90 mph after 8 warmup pitches today at a tryout. He's 15. Never seen a weight room. He's 6'4" 185. If he adds 10 lbs of muscle, he'll be at 92-94 as a sophomore with a wicked curve and slider. D1 no doubt. He'll sign anything.

Like these also

Dez vs Andre Jonhson -3 TD's -110

Dez vs Fitzgerald -2 TDs -110

D. Bryant over 1250.5 -115

Amendola over 950.5 -115

Amendola over 5 td's -140

Welker under 1000.5 +105

Opponents are averaging 5.0 runs in Capuano starts this season (6.1 when he is at home). He has failed to get past the 5th inning in his last three starts (Rays, Mets, Marlins) and had an average WHIP of 2.11 in those three games.

Red Sox o4 50/50

I'm on last-Sunday money management but if I this were tomorrow I would go Astros, Rockies, and whoever Halladay is pitching against.

My buddy Vince Perkins is a pitcher. About my size. Can hit 98+. He came up pitching with rich harden and dustin mcgowan in the northland. Vince had control issues by MLB standards but could hit a penny with a baseball from 20 yards on command. He's now a firefighter. You gotta throw strikes.

Good luck with not so lil treyn. Teach him not to skip leg day.

Ill pm you my address for those signed 8x10s, just in case ;) gotta be freebies tho, right Johnny?

Hey Jonas.

Whats going on Ricky.

I'm thinking of wearing all orange today.

Cool, what about your hat and shoes?

Going with the standard white, it really accentuates the orange.

WTF??? Really, a couple of orange glow sticks walking down the fairways. Hogan is rolling in over in his grave.

I think they said Blixt brought up the idea to Rickie in the scoring tent yesterday and they went with it. Jonas is wearing Ricki's second pair of orange pants.
