FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (5 Viewers)

My book has Golden State -2.5 against the Bulls who have proven to be beatable. I think that's an easy win. Stephen Curry is the next superstar in the NBA.

Futhermore, Golden State is 7 - 3 going over 102 their past 10 games (which is their point spread tomorrow).

SB wouldn't let me tease this, so I parlayed it. $1 to win $17k. :coffee:

So a buddy on FB just started a debate, what would it take - current players and draft picks, to wrassle the Mariota pick away from the Raiders for the Eagles, if Chip is ready to go all in for Marcus?

It's a good sports radio type discussion, since it would take either a total team dismantlement or an RG3 type picks trade to make it happen with the Eagles in the playoff hunt.

I proposed McCoy, Ertz, 2015 1st, 2016 2nd for a potential franchise QB in Marcus, in terms of what it'd take to get him from a 1-11 team. I HATE all angles of that, and would rather trade a 4th or so for RG3 and call it a wash if he never recovers and do that instead if the Skins were willing to do a deal. Heck, we traded them McNabb.

P.S. - Nice TD to start things off :banned:
Wait,Mariota is supposed to be a good NFL QB? I dont see this

So long as the circus Act doesn't catch up with him I think Winston will make the better pro.

I'm not going to lie. I'm only 23 years old, if the smartest brains in this thread could impart their wisdom onto me so I could spend the next 20 years snorting cocaine off of hot women, I'd be eternally in debt.

I can contribute to the process. I know for the most part this is every man for themselves but I don't want to work a real job.
this is actually inaccurate. I don't think it is every man for themselves in here. I see it much more as it is "us" vs. the sportsbooks and bookies. Nothing better then when someone has a real good feel about a play, and the thread tails along and we all win. So I actually think the thread is much more a group effort.

Right on Mo.

Pucks:

Toronto has played to the overs 12 of last 15 games and 7 of last 10 at home.

Vancouver has played to the overs 6 of last 9 on the road.

Van/Tor O5.5 -125

You think anyone in this thread is rolling around in cash snorting Coke off hookers? Lol
Wait, you guys aren't?

The only team even remotely close to Bama that Mizzou has played was UGA and they lost at home 34-0.

This thing shouldn't be close.

1u on bama

Why is Marshall passing on 3rd down when they could have just knelt on the ball? These coaches are unbelievably bad at clock management.

The East Carolina crap from Thursday was even worse

I have about a dozen things to say about the decisions in that game. I'll save it but I really want to go off on someone. I will say that I really wanted to have sex with that one linesman that was working the game. I have no shame in saying that.

Bill Snyder is 0-12 SU when both teams are ranked in the top 10 at the time of the game. In those games the most points K-State has scored in a true road game is 25 (20 this year against TCU). Baylor in home conference games this year has scored in the 60s twice and 49.

ETA: I'm posting this hoping that I can jinx Baylor tonight. Go Cats!!

This is why I came to this thread initially, but I barely saw any posts about why people were making certain bets, and there was no discussion about any of it. At least there sure isn't anytime I had tried to read up on a few pages worth.

All I see is people posting their bets. That is fine, just post WHY. Unless you don't really have a reason, which I suppose also fine sometimes.

You are damn right it should be everyone vs. the sportsbooks.

Some of us have been here for a long time, there isn't always a reason to post a why.

There are posters that post whys and their logic is flawed, so I'm not sure that is helping anyone who doesn't know the teams involved in the game. I like team A because they have the best third down conversion rate of any team in their conference. Ok, but you didn't mention they were last in the conference in first down efficiency, were second worst in the red zone and their defense is atrocious. I've seen a lot of that in here over the years.

And for kicks tonight, throwing in a parlay before I go to work.

Moneyline Georgia Tech and Wisconsin.

As an Ohio State fan, losing Barrett is enormous, and I don't think the odds makers are giving it enough of an impact on what the spread should be, so I am grabbing the moneyline. This is just far too late in the season for a guy like Jones (who is OK, but nothing special anyway) to come in to a huge game like this and do well. I expect a few major screwups.

FLorida State hasn't looked that great at all lately, Tech coming on. I don't know a ton about GT, but it's time for FSU to lose. I think a lot of teams in the top 25 can beat them right now.

So while I like to stick to NFL, F it, college season almost over.

Yup, DD is right here. It is tricky, but like DD said a lot of us have been here for years so we kind of know the flow. I have done pretty well with MMA bets over the years, and I used to write why I liked certain plays. but I think it bored people and also made posts kind of long and wordy. so after a bit, I just posted plays. If I post something that isn't as good or strong of a play I will try to indicate that. I still make plays from emotion, which is often me being more of a fan rather than real strong reasoning behind a pick.

I think if you just ask someone why they like a play or what is behind it people will go into it. But I know sometimes those discussions take 2-3 pages up and it is hard for others who pop on looking to tail to find plays to follow.

Jones and Barrett were neck and neck to be the backup before the season started, and Jones takes all the snaps every Friday with the first team (so Barrett's arm can rest). Ohio State's line has evolved into one of the best units in the nation in front of Barrett, and having that stability will be huge.

I think that can be weeded out easily though.

Sometimes the lines are set so well that it really is a guess. Which is why I bet small amounts on the "fun" bets, but way more (5-10x more) on games that I have a great feeling about.

The OSU/GT parlay I am doing is a bet I actually feel good enough to make, since I dont bet much non-NFL anymore. At 3:1, well worth it to me.

Some of us bet things that we are really good at. Would take a lot of time to post all the reasons behind it. If you know someone is good at something, do you really need an explanation?

Neck and neck to start the year is way overrated IMO. Barrett didnt exactly start out so well, seeing as how they lost to Vtech early on.

You can't really mimic big 10 championship play in practice. I have a feeling Jones will badly struggle. EVen if he was just as good or better, the lack of playing all year is enormous.

I am rooting for OSU bigtime, but not letting that get in the way of what I actually think is going to happen. OSU's defense is going to have to play out of their minds to get a win here.
