FFLM going away (1 Viewer)

I just noticed Twilights SL site was built using FFLM so I clicked on the FFM logo to find out what its all about and noticed its going away in 08 being merged with MFL. Not sure how this will affect us next year. Also do we (ravnzfan) usually collect cash for Twilight sometime around now?

Please be aware that 2007 will be the last season for FFLM as a stand alone program! We are in the process of phasing out FFLM and merging it with our on-line system called MyFantasyLeague.com. Since FFLM will no longer be available as a separate option in 2008, we strongly recommend that you use MyFantasyLeague.com this season instead. If you were an FFLM customer in 2007, then the price will be the same for either product. FFLM is $60.00 for the 2007 season, and you can purchase a league on MyFantasyLeague.com for only $60.00 as part of our special promotion for this season if you used FFLM last year. Why make the switch from FFLM to MyFantasyLeague.com in 2007? * Same price as FFLM. * Less work for the commissioner to maintain the league. * No need to download and install software updates and stats each week. * More interactive and fun for the owners with a complete web site for the league including an integrated message board and chat system for trash talking, etc. * Live scores with updates every 60 seconds. * Access to the league from any location with a web browser. This is especially helpful if you go on vacation during the season or want to access the league from multiple locations on a regular basis like at home and work. * Automatic updates of the weekly results for the entire league. All league reports can be viewed on the web right after the games are completed each day. Owners no longer have to wait for the commissioner to generate and distribute the reports each week. * The commissioner can still maintain complete control of any option in the league if desired. * Scoring rules and other league settings from FFLM can be transferred over to MyFantasyLeague.com. * Previous years of history in FFLM can also be transferred over to MyFantasyLeague.com. * You can still use FFLM to conduct your draft and then transfer the draft results when youre done.Click Here for instructions on transferring your league to MyFantasyLeague.com

Yeah, I was planning to post about this in a couple of weeks. I haven't had time in season to really search for alternatives yet, although I do know of one (phpffl.com) that I need to investigate further.

So if anybody has any other suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

Hey Twilight...the interboard challenge is made up of 5 drafts that merge into a 60 team league. If necessary we could revert to just WSL, SSL, PDSL, and MBSL and collect a nominal entry fee of a $2 or so to cover expenses. I have paypal and would be willing to handle the fund collections if you would handle the scoring/website setup. Maybe we could contact MFL with our plans and see what they would do for a group discount.

bump. any update on how all the message board survivor leagues are going to be managed this year?

Sorry guys. I haven't been responding much lately.

None of the free league managers can handle what we do. Period. I've been working on setting up a big excel spreadsheet I could use as a base, but it's been slow because of personal issues, and the need to automate as much as possible. Anything more than an hour the night after the games is too much. One big problem was how to import stats, and if FFLM has a useable report function, that takes care of 75% of the issues. I should be able to have some preliminary scoring up on Fri if that is the case.

This is my second year in Survivor leagues that you host. IF there is anything i can do to assist with the excel stuff let me know. It is what i do all day and I am good at it. just holler

how many different leagues are there in total? might be worth seeing if MFL can work with us since we relied so heavily on FFLM.

Really, if MFL provided us with nothing but a scoring list, the rest would be cake to do manually. I generally have plenty of time and would be more then willing to do this.

Please let me know if you are going to because I'm really getting tired of doing a lot of work, then people finding alternatives. I have a full excel sheet that is about 90% done. I really don't feel like finishing it if it isn't going to be necessary.

 sorry I didn't see this post earlier, Twilight--I wasn't sure what was going on w/the leagues this year, so being a pay league, I felt it best to get something going for The REUNION that would work by this weekend

I was really just posting an alternative to all of your hard work. Manually scoring every game and every player every week is the hard part. I've done that before, and it's 2-3 hours weekly just to do that. To apply those scores manually to our individual teams, figure out the real scores (best ball) and losers would take another 2 hours.I had seen that a couple of guys (especially FBG staff) know the people at MFL really well. I guess what I'm asking is if there's any way to get a result of the players scores weekly? If so..then I'd be more then willing to spend those 2 hours weekly for admin. Is your speadsheet for the player scoring?

I'm not trying to step on your toes twilight...I more then appreciate all your hard work the last few years. I'm simply offering to help if it's needed!

I started an excel sheet with knowing that I needed to automate as much as possible. Like I said, max 1 hout a night, which is what I spent switching from league to league in FFLM. I have the player scoring set and best ball scoring set. Anarchy was easy (no best ball), so I had that finished first, then deleted it. Reunion I had some work on, now deleted. FFLM won't work on importing stats, so I've set up some Web Querys to get some stats. It works so far, but I need to see the full week 1 before confirming. Team D's are the only stats that don't import right, and I'm working on that, hand added the 2 D's from Thurs, but that isn't a real solution. I've got the standings page up on FFPLACE, and should have more up tonight.I really do appreciate the offer of help, from you and others who have PMed me, and I don't feel like sounding like an ####, but I've been contemplating this problem all summer. The only reason I haven't finished it before now is that I'm a massive depressive at times who will sit down in front of the computer, then quit 5 minutes later. But the season start got me moving enough to finish. And the way I'm designing it isn't a two man job right now.

glll Twi, let us know if you need help with anything.

if simply getting the weekly stats is an issue, seems that FBG should be able to help.
