FFPC dynasty and redraft leagues thread (1 Viewer)

I feel a little better after reading everyone's thoughts on that trade. When I initially woke up after the deal had been accepted I was having 2nd thoughts
I'll let you know my thoughts in 8 weeks.  I should have a pretty good read on it by then.

I really like Waddle and had never considered dealing him, but I ended up going somewhat Zero RB in the startup and could afford to deal WR depth, especially for a starting RB. I had reservations about trading Waddle, but I think that's the sign of a fair deal, that neither of us felt super confident about our end of the trade.

In my two Main Event leagues, Mitchell went for $983 and $928. I saw that someone in the Main Event spent all $1000 on Mark Ingram. There are no $0 bids allowed, and waivers are the only way to acquire players, so that team can't make any more moves the rest of the season. Yikes.

Note to self. Enter into the main event next year.

Was expecting to get blasted on this, and righteously so

Penguin traded D.Henderson, C. Sutton & 2022 3rd rd pick

Phandango traded J.Waddle and 2022 2nd rd pick

Total overpay on my end. Maybe too much Tito's when I made the offer but I really like Waddle, even with Tua. If Miami moves on from Tua next year I like Waddle even more. Sutton, ugh, I feel like Bridgewater dialed into Juedy. Yes Juedy is out 6+ weeks but I think that favors KJ Hamler over Sutton. Teddy B and Sutton seem to have no chemistry. Drew Lock would have been the starter that Sutton needed. Henderson, who knows. The Rams thought highly enough of him to draft Akers early. Post injury Akers may never materialize but Sony Micheal was brought in and who knows about next year.

Bottom line: strill an overpay any way you slice it, chalk it up to The Mighty Penguiski planting his flag with Waddle
I like it and don't consider it an overpay at all really. Sutton is still limping out there and Waddle may be a difference maker. Henderson can be a difference maker in terms of his utility at a position of scarcity but the 2nd is probably undervalued here. I like the trade for you.

I also thought this was a pretty fair deal.  I actually like your side a little more.  Waddle is the most valuable asset in this deal by a pretty wide margin IMO.
Yep

Yeah you acquired a starting RB and that is a really big thing. Totally square and I like it. I prefer the other side but I also always say that there has never been a trade in the history of the universe that happened in a vacuum.

I posted a message on our FFPC dynasty page but I am bored today and thinking of hosting a zoom at some point today if we can get ~5-10 participants at a decent hour for folks. Let me know if interested and I will try to set something up. Could be in the next hour could be much later tonight. IDK.

Sorry man. Busy family weekend.

I knew the Cleveland Browns defense was going to be tough for Justin Fields and the Bears offense to contend with, but I didn’t think it would yield one of the all-time worst performances by an offense in the history of the game. I had a lot of success in Week 3, and am beginning to see some positive separation and patterns in my dynasty leagues, but the debacle by Fields and company really hurt me. Especially in some redraft leagues.

One of my SuperFlex (SF) dynasty teams started 2-0 and was looking really strong coming into this week, so I went with the triple dip Chicago stack with Fields, Allen Robinson, and Darnell Mooney. They combined for 10.92 fantasy points. In a PPR format. I also had Christian McCaffrey give me 6 more points there, so that helped. Oh, I had Tonyan at TE for 2.1 more. I should have streamed a different defense than the Washington Football Team that put up a 0. That is 19.02 total points from 6 starting positions. But that team is still strong. So are many others.

FFPC 1QB Dynasty Legacy Teams My oldest 1QB FFPC team got its second win and had the highest score for the week. My two startups from this year are underperforming but one got a win and both have a strong enough core to go on a heater still. Fields/Aiyuk have killed me so far.

FFPC SuperFlex Dynasty Legacy Teams Two championship teams from last year where one is 3-0 and crushing and the other is 1-2 and competing. I have another legacy squad that made the playoffs last year and it is currently 2-1 in the #3 seed and looks really good to me. Two out of my three startups from this year are 2-1 and within 1 Victory Point (VP) of the #1 seed, while my third startup has a strong core and is competing.

FFPC 1QB Dynasty Orphan Project Teams I had a pleasant couple of surprises here as I looked at these teams. My cheapest discounted team that I have routinely referred to as the worst of all my orphans just got its first victory and I see that it is only 2 VPs back from the playoffs. It probably won’t get there but this team has a lot of young talent that could emerge more. Another cheap and bad orphan also got its first victory but has enough VPs to make the playoffs as the #6 seed if it were today.

A third orphan that I paid a premium for to compete now has been underperforming thus far but it also got its first victory and put up the high score for the week.

I have one team from this category that lost this week but is in strong shape otherwise with two victories and a strong core. I have two others that were cheap discounted teams that I began tearing down for full rebuilds from day one. This hasn’t changed and they are both 0-3 with a lot of young talent, IMO, and future draft capital. There really isn’t any fork in the road to take here because I already took it.

FFPC SuperFlex Dynasty Orphan Project Teams There are more pleasant surprises from this group as well. One team lost this week due to the Justin Fields effect and lost an earlier matchup as well. But it has scored just seven total points less than the highest-scoring team in the league, and the future is bright. A couple of other really strong teams that had an unlucky first or second week, or both, got a victory this week and/or scored a lot of points. I have one squad here that has underperformed thus far but had the high score of the week, got its first victory, and is only two VPs behind 1st place in its division.

Main Event 1-2 overall I had to go without Diontae Johnson and Antonio Brown in this one. I made the right call with starting Aiyuk and Hunter Renfrow but it wasn’t enough. Scored some decent points, though, and that matters in these. A lot.

FBG 12-24 this week I have a few 3-0 squads and a few high-scoring, would-be playoff teams that are 1-2. I also have a shocking number of 0-3 teams that have scored anywhere from decent to terrible, but I look at their lineups and I think to myself “how is this possible, they should be better?” And I have everything in between with 2-1 squads. My non-FFPC redraft teams are doing extremely well. I’ll let my readers know if I can go on a heater because I will need to if I am going to win anything within this category. My goal coming into this season was to send a dozen of these teams to the big dance. That is still my goal. LFG!!

WAIVERS WEEK 4

Here are a few players I targeted this week:

QB: Jacoby Brissett $, Kirk Cousins, Daniel Jones, Jared Goff
RB: Chuba Hubbard $$$ (if desperate like me)
WR: Emmanuel Sanders $$, Michael Gallup $
TE: Tyler Conklin $, Maxx Williams $, Jack Doyle $

I got Mike Gesicki for $642 in one SF dynasty league, and I made a very desperate move for RB in another FootballGuysPlayers Championship league (FBG). This is the one and only of my FBG leagues that Chuba Hubbard was available in. Even if it is for only two weeks, I need his production in this one if I am going to have a chance. Aside from the question of whether it will be worth it, it is very satisfying to win a really big waiver claim by such a small amount.

It was $677-669.

Saying something to the quality of posters in this thread, I am in 6 FFPC dynasty leagues and I have the most victory points in all of them except the FBG one where I am tied for 8th place.

Haha yeah I have 1 VP in that one. My Sermon/Aiyuk combo has been less than stellar so far. I would have got my first victory this week if I had started Winston over Fields.

Just got an email from FFPC in a specific FBG league where an owner picked up Josh Gordon for $44 and dropped... wait for it... Justin Jefferson. Yes that one. I don't know if there is another. But they reversed it for him as he meant to drop KJ Hamler instead.

That is certainly doing that guy a solid.

A guy in one of my Main Event leagues spent $963 on Elijah Mitchell two weeks ago. Last night he dropped Mitchell for JJ Taylor. There was a message today from FFPC that he meant to drop Boston Scott, so they fixed it. 🙄

Well, at least they fixed it, in 1 of my fbg tourno lgs I saw the following "FAAB Acquisition Added: James Washington, PIT (WR)Dropped: Antonio Brown, TB (WR).

The team is 0-3 and last in points and desperate but is this not insane?

FTR, feeling good about my FBG dyno team but long way to go.

You guys are really pissing me off in that league.  Ever time I look, the waiver wire is bare.  Usually most leagues have a few guys I wouldn't mind picking up.  All I see are very longshots.

I would think they'd have to as to be fair to the tournament.  Late in the year they have that rule where a cut skill player can't be picked up after week 10(?).  Someone like Jefferson should be eligible for that rule week 1.

I'm in multiple FFPC dynasty leagues where my IR is full and I either have to keep IR guys on my active roster, or drop guys from IR to make room for my newly IR'd guys.

The season is only a month old!

I swear I don’t know how some of you people are running 10-20 teams at a time!! One or two is enough for me and lucky for me my one ffpc team is 4-0 with top points, but barely… if only I had gone kupp instead of Robert woods! Although maybe this week is the start of his resurgence back to relevancy

My team with Woods and ARob is 1-3. I am starting my comeback

Last week before the trade deadline on Thanksgiving morning in FFPC dynasties. And only two more weeks for the regular season of the FPC and Main Event redraft contests. Or RTSports. How are people doing out there?

I am thinking about hosting another zoom for our SharkPool FPC mates if interested. @menobrown @Zyphros @FreeBaGeL @NE_REVIVAL  @joey @bombjack @IHEARTFF @Marauder @phandango @Penguin @jabarony

I suppose this weekend is pretty short notice but seems like a good time to me. It is nasty weather here and I'll be indoors all weekend for the most part. Would it be crazy to hop on a zoom *during* the Sunday slate? I mean once our lineups are set and such... otherwise anytime *could* work for me.

Gauging interest again.

How are people doing out there?

Big two weeks coming up in redrafts mainly. A few teams wrapped up seeding, a few teams are dead, majority depends on the last two weeks and last night was not an awesome start.

I've been doing waivers for 33 redraft teams(29 FFPC/4 RTS) and 9 dynasty leagues and one thing I can't wait for is the last big Wednesday waiver run. Once you draft a team the only real work is Wednesday waivers and I won't miss full on waivers at all.

I won't bore folks with the details but out of those 9 dynasty leagues this group is the one keeping me down, this is only team that's not a current playoff team. Hopefully better days ahead.

As for the Zoom I'd be down for it but NFL Sunday is basically sacred to me, in fact I call it NFL Sunday Holiday. I don't watch RedZone, I put every game up on TV/computer and my eyeballs are all over the place, especially in the early afternoon full slate.  I'm fairly open on times otherwise.

I like to watch that way when I go to the bar on Sundays. Haven't done it in a couple years though. I do RedZone nowadays.

My dynasty teams are largely cruising and in good shape. A couple exceptions, like our Shark Pool. Redraft is doing about as good as I expected but not in the way I expected. I have a few powerhouses that could make some noise. My goal was to get 12 of my 37 FBG squads into the big dance and right now that seems doable but I need to finish weeks 11 and 12 strong.

Hey Barack. Love your enthusiasm and drive to talk and share live on zoom about this silly hobby of ours. The FFPC SharkPool league has been a total blast (though I’ve hit a major speed bump in my Win Now strategy in year 1 with Henry out and now AJones hurt. Time to put in my backup's backups ;) )

Not likely to make a call any time this week, though. Family coming into town for the thanksving week starting on Saturday, so I’m not expecting much "sit in front of the TV" time unfortunately. No "Sunday Holiday" in my house. More like "Sunday Watch It On DVR hours later on Sunday night" with all my family/kid/band stuff filling the weekends.

good luck to everyone and congrats in advance to @NE_REVIVAL for winning it all this year #reverseJinx

Would love to do another zoom and see where we are all at with our ME, FBG & Dynasty teams. This weekend not good but how about next weekend? With the long Thanksgiving holiday I am thinking most of our families will be sick enuf of us by Sat or Sun to allow us to easily slip away for a little bit.  How about mid afternoon on the 27th or Sun the 28th?    @menobrown @Zyphros @FreeBaGeL @NE_REVIVAL  @joey @bombjack @IHEARTFF @Marauder @phandango @Penguin

SOB, you are still the big favorite Joey and several other worthy contenders as well so to hell with your cursed reverse jinx!

Only the clear favorite in the league would try to deflect from the fact that they’re the clear favorite.

Probably

I have E Mitchell in 31 leagues. Just got done benching him - wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be but now I need to scrounge in a couple spots. It's been like that like that all year.

I did a breakdown of all my past FFPC or FFPC style leagues and after adjusting for a 14 week regular season instead of 13 weeks, I figured that 29 Victory Points is the magic number to reach for to make the playoffs. Obviously each league is unique and you could get in with less or not get in with more, but that seems to be the mark.

I have one squad that was at 27 VPs after week 7, but has only earned 1 VP since after losing Henry, A Jones, and Nuk/Murray being out. I also lost Winston there so I have been scrambling at QB.

My best squad has 32 VPs right now. Several others around 28,29,30. My orphan project teams I took on from DD are doing exceptionally well, other than the ones that were known rebuilds.

I'm looking forward to re-sorting all the teams on the MyTeams page once playoff spots are locked down.

NON superflex FFPC

If you are looking to buy to compete or sell to rebuild, price check in terms of future picks on these guys:

Dalvin Cook

CMC

Devante Adams

Kelce

Minimum two 1sts for each but I would tier them something like this, from cheapest to most expensive:

Cook

Kelce
Adams

CMC

I think CMC is possibly untouchable in most places at this moment, while Adams and Kelce are possible but still unbelievably expensive. Probably three 1sts and two of them need to be premium. Cook is the most gettable.

Oof.  Three 1sts for Kelce or Adams?

I would think ANY two 1sts for Kelce would be a nice return for a team needing to look ahead.  Even two seems like a lot.  Same with Adams.   Must be my biased buyers opinion 🤑

Interesting you have Cook as the lowest.  Afraid if the domestic violence stuff?

Well first of all I was just spitballing with a gut reaction. Non scientific. The price is whatever two parties agree to. But yeah I think that is about right. These aren't players I would be looking to buy to compete. Not because I wouldn't want them but because I would sort of assume they're untouchable. YMMV. I am maybe higher on Kelce than market if that is possible. I think he wants to put another 3 or 4 elite years up with Mahomes as his QB and that he is the single biggest advantage in FF. Especially FFPC. That is worth a ton to me. And I think Adams goes with Rodgers if he leaves GB next year. And I wouldn't want to give that up either.

For a rebuilder in FFPC I would be looking for a younger premier player that is cheaper and to add a 1st+ rather than to just aggregate picks. Like your Fant and a 1st offer. I would decline that one too but I wouldn't laugh at it. It is reasonable enough to talk.

As for Cook I forgot about the off field stuff until you mentioned it. I would think of my lower ranking of him as less of an indictment of him and more of an endorsement of the others. He is a stud for sure.

If Rodgers leaves GB I can't imagine Adams follows him to the same team.  Probably cost prohibitive among other reasons.

I am surprised with as much as you like Kelce you prefer Fant and a 1st

No I prefer Kelce there. I read what you were saying incorrectly. I thought you offered Fant and the 1st but it was the other way.

I don't even remember what it was I was reading a couple months back but I thought a big part of Adams not signing an extension was to keep that door open next year. I think teams that want Rodgers will need/want Adams to come with him if they are serious about getting him. Even though yes it is probably a cost issue to say the least.

I hate to hear what CMC would cost.  Six 1sts?
Lol I mean it isn't like you can just walk into a store and get players like these on your roster like you're buying a case of beer or something. Just because you have the money doesn't mean it is for sale. The broader situation has to be just right for each party. I have no idea on the price for any of these players because I am basically neither a buyer nor a seller. I won't pay those kinds of prices and I know nobody else will give those prices. That is why I tried to tier them.

I actually offered someone Kelce for Fant and a decent looking future 1st.  I was rejected and pretty much laughed at.
Imho, it depends on current state of team, if im not competing this yr and not looking particularly good for next yr I would be looking to move Kelce and likely Adams as well (given the Rodger situation).

Kelce will be 33 next yr and now is the time to sell for non competing teams, if I were rebuilding\reloading Fant and a early first would likely get if done for me. Rather sell a yr or 2 early than be left holding the bag.

As for CMC, I have him on my best dynasty team (looking to 3 peat) but would love to move him now (he is breaking down imho) and it wouldn't take anything close to 6 1sts tp pry him from me.

I’d anyone has just 5 1sts in the SP league, CMC is yours!  He deserves to be with a winner, not the sorry squad I assembled.

6 FFPC dynasty leagues.  I went into all six expecting to compete this year.  3 were new-to-me orphan.  I'm out of the playoffs in each of those 3.

3 were in years 2, 3, & 4 respectively of my own build from startup, I'm top 2 in eachthose 3.

Lesson learned - screw the orphans.

And of course the 7th is the SP league.  I decided to pick injury prone guys in that one.  I'll refrain from that in the future.

Doing ok with my Dynasty teams and will do a write up once regular season is over, but let me get this out of the way now. My only FFPC ME team, went into last week with high points and tied with 2 other teams for best record. Ended up out of playoffs, argh.....Granted team was not a dynamo but it completely crapped the bed (101 points) so poorly it was enough to lose 1st, 2nd best record and 2nd high points qualification😭

I do have 1 out of 6 fbg teams with high points and 11-1 for best record (93rd overall). Unlike the ME it gets me no cash, just an invite to the tourney and a date with Bipcoin in the lg playoffs.

I know its all fpc here but fwiw, my only FFWC ME is in 2nd place with 2 weeks to go; similar scenario, I could finish 1st or out of playoffs entirely..........

That's the worst.

Well maybe the worst, not to take away from your tale of woe but  I witnessed a guy in one of my FFPC main events have one of the worst things I've witnessed.

This guy won week one and starting from end of weeks 2-11 qualified for playoffs, most of those weeks as the #1 seed. Entered week 12 similar to were you at,  sitting on seed #3 with a shot at seed #1., so almost a wire to wire playoff team.

So you know were this is going and he's out but it's what got him that would be hard to take. He ended up tied in record for seed #3 but lost out by 4.25 points. The killer was he had Logan Thomas in his lineup so that TD reversal knocked him out. That's rough.

It was a very frustrating season for Main Event for me. I draft with partners, and we've missed the playoffs only once since 2014. This year was the second time we were shut out. One of my teams drafted from the 1 spot and had five of our first nine picks go on IR during the season, both short-term and for the year. Three other top-9 picks missed at least one game. We're pretty good with in-season waivers, but it was a constant churn to cover injuries, and too much to overcome.
