Finger pointing at the T-shirt.. (1 Viewer)

I've been trying to figure the message out for a while now. Call me dense, stupid, cluesless, I don't care but what does that symbol mean?

Thanks!

A few years ago somebody came on here trying to sell T-Shirts that listed excuses on why they lost at fantasy football. Now whenever anybody posts an excuse why they lose you'll see the "point to the shirt" icon.

I've never found it funny. And the people that instigate its use have no idea what it means. I thought it was some riot of an inside joke until I did a little research into what it meant. Anti-climatic.

Love the username Capt. Big fan! Hoooray!

The artwork on that shirt is a crime against humanity. That itself is quite funny.

What's the weather have to do with it?

So if the "point to the shirt" icon is about making excuses, how does it apply here?
It doesn't. But most the people that use it aren't really even aware of what it means or smart enough to use it appropriately. That's why it's fun to just laugh at most of them under your breath while they go on thinking they were clever.
 When someone is whining they are gonna get a ptts laid on them! So as to have a reason to excuse the whining. You'll have to paypal me for any more lessons.

As soon as "I've never found it funny"=whining then your netiquette business is going to take off. :goodposting:PS-don't hold your breath

So when someone says their team did poorly because of weather or injuries they are whining. That's really stupid.

Explaining why they lose and making excuses are different things.

You would have to take that issue up with Biabreakable. Good news though, you can paypal me for reading comprehension too!

Tornacl,If the poster has never found ptts funny then he has no sense of humour whatsoever. So ptts applies as he only has himself to blame here for lacking a sense of humor.Loke,Thanks I'll do that. ool

So "I've never found it funny" now equals whining? I think the only thing you need paypal for is to pay for some reading comprehension lessons guy.

Sorry, I didn't mean to stir anything. For the record, I have a sense of humor. And that's why my team lost!!!

Actually, I won... but it didn't fit my sense of humor joke.

As others have mentioned, that's how it started. Now it has (d)evolved into a way for people to act like they're better than someone else in as arrogant a manner as possible.

Pretty much any whining of any type even if it doesn't relate to football becomes instantly eligible for the  icon.

Ptts has been used in a few circumstances.

1. Your post has no value as you are only whining about your team

2. Yeah, stuff happens, to all of us, let's laugh about it

3. I am too ignorant to see the value of your post through my perception of your whining

4. I think this means stop making excuses, so I'll post ptts

Semantics. Posting without personal impact, but fantasy football focus will probably avoid it.

It can be funny or inappropriate, but not a big deal to me. I don't recall using it unless making fun of myself.

This shtick never gets old.
excuse sme of us for not being forum trolls and spending all our free time on here... some of us do have lives... which may be hard for you to understandi agree with what's been said about this stupid shirt- half the people don't use it properly

It also a way for the people on this board who have been here a long time to feel smug. Personally, I'm not a fan of it.
 It's so lame when you have to do research on a FF site to determine what the icon means. Inside jokes are one thing but the shirt is too geeky for me.

"explaining" why you lost a fantasy football game = making excuses (and whining) 100% of the time
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/whiningI don't see "explaining" under that defintion

Honestly, you consider me coming in here and saying "ah well I lost my game because I went on a limb and started Rudi Johnson over Kolby Smith. Smith was the better play but ah well, guess you shouldn't play matchups every week".... you consider that "whining"? wow... assuming you're still a young buck, when you grow up and you have a real job... and your boss asks you why something isn't done, and you give him an explanation... he has every right to say (in the best arnold voice he can) "stop whining!"?

I don't know. In most groups of human interaction, especially amongst men, remembering notable past experiences are an important part of the bonding that goes on. Amongst my local friends we have our Hall of Fame stories, things that were so funny to us they achieved legendary status amongst us and are often retold or brought back up.Though I've never liked the PTTS in particular, things like this add to the sense of community. So I'll just say GB to having some traditions and inside jokes. And not wanting to take a few minutes to get brought up to speed when joining a community is worse than if Marshall Faulk has ball cancer. I mean, after all, don't traditions = SPEED? And it's appreciated when Joe Bryant steps up his game and keeps some of those traditions alive. Sorry if this is a honda, but it needs to be said.gllllll peas
