Five Guys thread, a 130+ page swordfight. (1 Viewer)

There's a Schnippers by my office. Never heard of it before but the burgers are pretty tasty. They're similar to Shake Shack burgers. The problem was, a cheeseburger, fries and a soda cost me nearly $15.

Time to shut these expensive 'meh' burger joints down.

The friend ate all hers, but the wife and daughter had leftovers for the fridge.  One order is plenty, you're right.

Cut out those two orders of fries and you could have saved yourself $48.
You could have skipped the fries altogether and just loaded up on free peanuts, saved so much.  I went a few months back with 8 people.  We ordered one loaded burger cut pizza style, everyone got a slice. Then unlimited free peanuts, unlimited ketchup and ice waters all around. Came to 74 cents each. They served it family style.  We ate and drank like kings.  My girl couldn't finish her slice so we brought it home with a bunch of peanuts and had another feast later that night.  She also took all of the water cups home. We ended up filling them with soil and planting some peanut shells in them. A few months later we had bushels of our own homegrown peanuts. Went back to the five guys and asked if they were running low, they said yes and ended up buying our peanuts for about 20 bucks.  So they basically paid us twenty to eat like kings (twice).  Don't know why you guys are complaining about the prices. Just need to know what to order.

Till little Billy sues because his peanut allergy was triggered by your cup-nuts. Then you're in for it.

Swenson's in the Akron/Canton Ohio area.  Its a local chain and been around a long time.  Lots of the locations are a drive up, leave your headlights to be served and they run out to take your order.  Great meat (they put some brown sugar in it), buttered,  fresh baked buns, good shakes/malts.

Man, I miss this place a lot.

Any FBGs in the area been there?

Lolololol nicely done.

Don't get the love for Whataburger. Thin patty on a humongous bun, nothing amazing. The best item on their menu is their breakfast tacquitos which isn't saying much. Would take 5 Guys or McDonald's over Whataburger all day every day.

Had Whataburger twice on trips to Texas. Might still be my tastiest FF burger experience. Wish they would come east.

Count me in the camp that finds Five Guys good, but way too expensive.  Rather have The Habit.  And yes, please bring Whataburger west.

Also, McDonalds... wth?  I noticed on my receipt that I had a buy-one-get-one for a Quarter Pounder.  On a day I was especially hungry, I ordered two (with the 2nd free of course), medium fries and small drink.... over 10 bucks.   :loco:   Apparently the QP by itself is like 5 bucks, fries almost 3 and drink almost 2...   Never again.

And I've also boycotted Taco Bell since they canned their verde sauce.  Added yet another level of hot sauce instead.  So stupid.  Their FB page is littered with complaints and all their snarky PR people say is "yes, we'll miss it too....".  More business for Del Taco, I guess.

$5.79 for a QPC meal.  Are you sure you know how to order food?

I don't know if you had credibility at one point. But if you did, it's gone now. I don't know how you could seriously compare those two.

I'm not comparing them, I'm saying a quarter pounder with cheese is better than any burger Whataburger makes.

Whataburger blows.  Beating In N Out,  5 guys,  and Fuddruckers in a contest shows how terrible the contest was.

That didn't help your cause at all.

Only voted in the top.... one.
Nice link Scoops Callahan, my original post was a response to that, thanks for coming full circle. The Kardashians have a popular show, that doesnt mean it's good. Other than Texans' blind allegiance that anything from Texas is awesome I can't explain Whataburger winning. I know it's only the opinion of one man, but it's meh at best. Guess here is where we agree to disagree.

Methinks you were charged for the free burger.

Yea, makes sense, because voting was only allowed in Texas. And yes, seriously, calling McDonald's better likely is only one man's opinion, which is pretty much my point. But hey, who am I to argue? I'm sure your refined taste buds are able to appreciate the fine delicacy that is a McDonald's burger way more than the thousands that voted in the poll.  :lmao:

You don't quite grasp the "agree to disagree" concept eh? That's alright, falling back on insulting the other poster works too lol.

Made my own burgers yesterday using a combo of farm raised steer and pork.  A little garlic, worcestershire, salt, pepper and cast iron skillet.  Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and some Asiago cheese.

Good, not as good as 5Guys.

Went yesterday.

If five guys and in n out were free while I had to pay for Fudruckers, I'd still go to fudruckers without a second thought.
Back in the day I always liked how they had diced and sliced veggies. Was never a huge fan of the fries but a good burger, especially the bun.

Yup.  You paid for a QPC, fries, and drink.  That's a QPC combo.
I had a 2-for-1 coupon.  Not valid with combos.  Hence, me buying the QPC by itself as well as the fries/drink.  Basic premise:  it's too expensive for fast food.

I'm having Chick-Fil-A for the first time ever today. what's good on the menu?  I want to be as prepared as possible.
I prefer the strips over the nuggets.  More chicken as opposed to more breading - seems simple enough.... but I know some that prefer the nuggets.  I don't get it.

Waffle fries are good.  They make a good chocolate shake.
