Florida boy killed by Neighborhood Watch (1 Viewer)

If there is a trial, prosecutors, under certain circumstances, may be able to cite the bond hearing to raise questions about Zimmerman's credibility in a case in which he is going to need to convince a jury about his version of what happened during the confrontation.
This won't happen. Christo has told us so.
Interesting to see who shares that opinion -- Michael Greico.
Michael Grieco, a South Florida defense attorney and former Miami-Dade prosecutor, said Zimmerman may have hurt his credibility with the judge, but his silence at that bond hearing should not be a factor at trial.

"It's not going to become part of the case," Grieco said.
Greico is the former states attorney (and DJ!) who completely botched the Sean Taylor assault case and had to resign. No doubt he's a reliable guy. :lmao:
Sharpstein said Grieco's Web site, which as of Tuesday night contained profane language, erotic photographs and numerous messages from people claiming to have partied with Grieco, inappropriately provided links to media coverage of the Taylor case. Those links, Sharpstein said, demonstrated Grieco's desire to use the Taylor case "for his personal gain and publicity."

It is clear from court and public records that George Zimmerman has sometimes been less than truthful.

After shooting Trayvon Martin in late February, he told Sanford police he didn't have a criminal history. He did. Several weeks later, he told the Seminole County Sheriff's Office he had never been in a pretrial-diversion program. That's also untrue.

He contradicted himself on the witness stand in April, telling Trayvon's family during an apology that he had thought their son was close to his age. On the night of the shooting, Zimmerman, 28, described the 17-year-old to police as in his "late teens."

And now Zimmerman is back in jail because he sat silently as his wife, Shellie, testified — under oath — at his bond hearing in April that the couple were, essentially, flat broke. At the time, they had access to about $135,000, funds raised through a website he launched after he shot Trayvon.

but anyone who thinks he would lie about what really happened the night he shot trayvon is just a blind treyvon supporter.

So what we've got here is a number of lies by Zimmerman. Not just one, but several. Can ANY of this be used at trial to challenge his credibility on the witness stand?

The actual answer is: It depends. On several things. Christo is betting on it not happening, but it could.

Whether Zimmerman takes the stand, whether O'Mara gets it excluded for any number of other things. If Zimmerman doesn't take the stand it probably doesn't come up. But he's a nutjob, he will.

You have made numerous posts in this thread in which you accepted Zimmerman's storyline as gospel. You have attempted to paint Trayvon Martin in the worst possible light, claiming that he was a dangerous thug who attacked George Zimmerman from behind for no reason and tried to kill him. Whatever has been the most blatant pro-Zimmerman, anti-Martin angle, you have adopted it and regarded it as the truth. You have called anyone who disagreed with you part of the "media-driven mob."

The last one's a real gem.

Large angry mob was looking to hang Zimmerman, most have thrown down their torches and pitch forks and gone home, 3-4 really stubborn ones left, either refuse to accept the new facts of the case, or are clinging to any skewed interpretation of the facts in an attempt to bolster their original position.

That's why I have him on ignore. He's just a broken record.

You're missing a great opportunity. It's poignant watching him fall in love. Soon he'll be trying to visit George Zimmerman in jail so he can feed, nurture, and clean him.

My points have always followed "If it went as the way it's told"And I've only brought up the points about Trayvon that are either in-arguably true, or have been unanswered character issues.. Like having jewelry and a screwdriver that "was given to him" in his book bag at school. These are real issues.. Talking about multiple suspensions from school in one year, illegal drug use, etc.. Those things happened..

I never said he attached Zimmerman from behind, I've actually corrected you on this point multiple times.. And I never described Trayvon as dangerous.. I never said he tried to kill Zimmerman either.. Or that he was aggressive for no reason..

You're just full of all kinds of BS tonight aren't you?

Care to back up any of these ^contested^ allegations with links?

wet toast then.. soggy..

I see the "Look at me!" batsignal went out and attracted Otis to combat Tim. It's like Godzilla vs Mothra, but less cool.
 And what is your purpose here.. ?
His sole purpose in life is to increase my post count in this thread. I kind of like that his happiness is dependent upon me.
Not true. Tim's taken that over now. My work here is done. I still want justice for Trayvon though. If that means aggravating people the likes of you, John mx, Boneyard Dog, Carolina Hustler etc., so be it. Not the posters I would want to be associated with, but everything is about you, so I'm sure you're fine with it.
Without knowing the real story, how can you judge the conclusion, what will "Justice for Trayvon" be? Because at this point, he might have already gotten the justice he deserved.. You can't know..
How do you know?
Even if Zimmerman's story turns out to be the entire truth, then a 17 year old kid died because he felt himself threatened and decided to attack first. To me, that's a tragedy, no matter how you look at it. Even if Trayvon was a punk, it's still a tragedy, because he was a young man and could change. He's dead, and that's not justice.
:goodposting: To me it's difficult to argue that getting killed because of a beatdown is justice. Although Zimmerman may have had the legal right to shoot Trayvon, I'm pretty sure most people would say that the result was excessive and unwarranted.

O wait, Were missing Neofight and Sac Bob...
I'm more impressed with you when you don't do the self pity routine. Mind you, that is not to say I'm impressed with you; just more impressed. More than nothing is something I guess.
Band is complete!! When do you go back on tour?

I was, I think Txfan blocked me though :(

Yikes, just watched that video and it looks like George is over 2 bills, easily. So was he this fat during the incident or has he been living a bit high on the hog? I'm actually inclined to believe he was close to 200 at the time of the altercation (reported he was a size 38 at the time), but he's looking particularly healthy these days.
I'd agree that he looks to be around 200lbs.. But he looks heavier than he looked in the pics we saw of him in court. Maybe that was by design.. That suit did look a little big on him.

To me it's difficult to argue that getting killed because of a beatdown is justice. Although Zimmerman may have had the legal right to shoot Trayvon, I'm pretty sure most people would say that the result was excessive and unwarranted.
I can agree with that. I'm not sure where you draw the line between simple "beatdown" and something that is excessive, or how you can know to what extent this confrontation would have gone if it weren't forcefully stopped.I'm not sure there was any real threat of death, maybe a verbal one, so I don't think death is justified for Trayvon. Being shot may have been justified, but there again, you have different degrees of this alleged crime.. If Zimmerman would have shot and only wounded Trayvon, I don't think anyone would have had seen any issue with that as long as Trayvon was on top of, and pummeling Zimmerman as the story goes and eye witnesses describe..

The death is unfortunate. In my opinion there is no justification in and intentional killing. Was Zimmermans intent to kill Trayvon, or to subdue his attacker? I'd guess the latter.. But getting shot may have been an inevitable conclusion for Trayvon if he was on the bad path that it appears he was on..

You don't think he's been wearing a bullet proof vest when out in public?

They're making those things for the femoral artery now?

All that money that Zimmerman didn't tell the court about because he was "afraid" and "confused" --- here's where it went:

According to O'Mara, Zimmerman raised $204,000 on his website. Of that, $150,000 went to his legal team, and $30,000 to get him into hiding.

The balance of around $24,000 was kept liquid for his future living expenses.

:lmao:
Jesus. He's gone completely off the deep end.
That's been his point the whole time.
Without knowing the real story, how can you judge the conclusion, what will "Justice for Trayvon" be? Because at this point, he might have already gotten the justice he deserved.. You can't know..

Oh that's right. I think that's when I put him on ignore.

I'm curious why you make this conclusion.
