Jim Miller is on with Gannon instead of the idiot today. If you get a second, email siriusblitz@sirius-radio.com and give Jim Miller a big vote of approval over Adam Schein. It's so nice to get true NFL talk instead of the fricken' inane hype and hyperbole.
done! :coffee:
me too :)
 Schein is a cartoon and is best at 1am Kazakistan Standard Time

Schein cracks me up, mostly because I assume he means the opposite of everything that he says and is being sarcastic. He is truly a caricature of himself.
This stuff has no place on a serious show. That's like using the "I know you are but what am I..." for an argument in the Supreme Court.

Dude it's football. Last time I checked it went under the entertainment catagory.

I can't stand the guy. I would rather listen to Gil Brant repeat "is what it amounts to" 1000X a day

I used to hate Schein as well but now..Schein cracks me up, mostly because I assume he means the opposite of everything that he says and is being sarcastic. He is truly a caricature of himself. Anyone remember the spot he used to do for Rosanne and whatever casino they were plugging? It was a classic. It was the old talk to the recorded voice like it was a real interview schtick. It was even funnier when you would hear another radio host (I think it was Randy Cross )do the same thing to the same recorded voice later in the day.
You sir, have a loose definition of "funny".

Their show is by far the best one on NFL radio, and they give some of the best insight into the game.
CAN. NOT. WAIT. for it every afternoon. I learn something from them every day. They also have a great rapport and are respectful to the callers... something Adam Schein should take notice of.
 I love it when Kirwan sometimes sounds bummed out when the caller hangs up and he still wants to talk to them. Schien seems like he can't hang up fast enough.
Tim and Pat are awesome. I think a lot of you in this thread are being really hard on Adam Schien though. He's entertaining and has passion for football. I like him. He keeps the show moving along and yes, does get thru calls more quickly. But I still like him.Tim and Pat have so much wisdom between them, you can't help but learn. Great show.

I tell you the morning show combo I love most is when they get Peter King on with Papa and Randy Cross. They have a lot of fun and like Tim and Pat, you can't help but learn something when Peter opens his mouth. He's fascinating. Good singer too. :wolf:
Kirwan and Ryan are the best but these guys don't get enough props. Listening to Randy Cross on the radio really changed my opinion of him. I couldn't stand him when he would do a game but now I really enjoy listening to him. Love the exchanges he has with the studio guys. Did anyone hear when Peter King was trying to do the "Bob Papa" drops just like the radio voice guy? Pretty funny stuff.
Agreed, Cross and Papa in the morning are awesome.Clear #1 is K-Rock and PK. It goes beyond their knowledge of the game. They are just so damned fun. You can tell they absolutely love what they are doing -- it resonates through every minute of every show. I laugh and learn. What a great combination.

Anyone catch it a couple of days ago when a caller asks them to do role playing and PK was playing the GM of San Diego and T-Rock was Norv Turner? First off the caller was very well prepared and he rifled question after question at them that I'm sure every San Diego fan knew exactly what he was talking about. So PK was giving very good GM type answers, and every time Ryan (Coach Turner) was asked a question he would reply with a canned, "Well, I feel like we've got the talent we just need to transfer that to the football field" (or something canned like that). It was hilarious!

Those of you writing to get rid of Schein... I respect your cause and your effort but you're wasting your time.

Steve Cohen loves the guy, and that's all that matters.

What? Hearing a radio host, in a commercial that is supposed to sound like it is adlib and a real interview, read a script that forces him to say how much he likes Rosanne Bar to a canned interview isn't funny? And then hearing a different radio host read the exact same script to the same canned interview in the next show isn't even more funny?Next your going to say that the give up smoking by smoking fake cigarettes that blow out water vapor commercial isn't hilarious. "We can't say it's harmless but you do the math." OMG I die very time I hear that line. I can't wait to see someone actually using this product in person. I may not stop laughing for a week if I get to witness this first hand.

Someone called in yesterday and Schein greeted him with his usual, "We say hello to our Good Friend John in Texas". The dude said, "Let's get one thing straight. I'm not your friend and I never will be". Was the funniest thing I have heard all week.

i wish i would have heard that ! i needed a great guffaw yesterday !!schein bugs me in so many ways. the cutting off a caller, then stealing his thunderthe way he has the sound board's bass cranked a few notches higher to make him sound more like a manthe way he pronounces T's in the middle and end of words. in the middle he eliminates the T's and forces exhales the remainder (pey-en manning, mar-y sho--enheimer)pronounces T's as D's at the ends of the words. totally bugs the crap out of me !i always have to turn the volume down during his identical monologues every day. (the good the bad and the ................ TENNESSEE TITANS !!)he is the least genuine person that i have ever listened to. dome patrol is brutal. dome patrol, dome patrol , dome patrol ! uuugggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!i am just glad that they switched his sirius blitz time slot (then known as afternoon blitz) with pat kirwin and tim ryan . it was a brutal rush hour with schein taking me home.on a side note. how do these fantasy football clowns get 2 shows a week? caplan and hanson. i'm sorry but when they talk about their fantasy teams , they are like, " man, i have to choose between mike kuhn and garrette wolfe this week" great drafting guys! on one show in the preseason , one was drafting during the show and he was telling the audience about some of his boner picks and was excited about them.

Wow, how sweet is it to have landed the NFL Radio gig. If I were them, I would make damn sure NFL Radio is well taken care of, and I'm pretty certain Adam Schein has been given a slice of the Guru pie. I mean, yeah, the guy is over the top mindless hype, but the way he blows Guru on the air goes beyond free fantasy football service. Those two guys can't help but be fairly rich by now and if they're smart they will share the wealth with that radio station...

Just as a little FYI...

On Friday afternoon (Ladies Hour) Marty called in to discuss stat crunching with PK, and he starts explaining how he gets his stats from NFL.com.

She countered by dropping a plug for "pro-football-reference.com" saying it's the best site she can find with all the stats for everything...just the best site and one she visits daily...(paraphrased of course)...

I haven't had much opportunity to listen this week. Has Pat made any statements about him being linked to Pete Carroll and the Seattle front office? I heard one caller in the last hour yesterday close his call with "if it's the last time it's been great" but Pat didn't really react to it. I sense he would probably like to get back in the game and the opportunity to do it with Pete is ideal. As much as I love what PK does on the radio show, I think he'd be silly to pass up another chance in the league if that's what he wants. He could come back to radio/TV 5-10 years from now if he's inclined.

IF Pat moves his chains to Seattle, who would be a good replacement to team with Tim? Is this the opportunity for super-sub Jim Miller to get a permanent show?

Good call and it should be...Miller and Gannon show is one of the best ever between TWO ex-athletes. I am sure there is another duo out there somewhere, but I can't think of one that involves two players of said sport (usually they are regulated to color commentating) and are so good.Miller and Ryan would be really nice, although PK's unique background (being a former GM) lends itself to so much to the station, I would be sad to see him go.

I vote for Solomon Wilcots. He and Ryan are a pretty tight race for 2nd place behind PK.

ooof, Solly talking about the cumbine is terrible. Almost as bad as Schein talking about Peyon Manning.I'd vote for some combination of Tucker, Miller and Gannon. I've had enough of Ryan. He's too comfortable talking to all his buddies. Sadly its carried over to the booth when he does games. I though he was pretty poor in the bowl game. Though it was funny when he called the play by play guy, Pat.

He's got good insight, and it's not like his enunciation is as horrid as a Deion Sanders or Warren Sapp who shouldn't be allowed near a microphone. I like Gannon, too. Miller I like, but sometimes he comes off as TOO earnest.

I can't get past that especially on the radio. Your job is speaking, please learn how to pronounce words. Its really a shame that Schein drowns out Gannon on that show. It has potential

I actually think they've got a good mix going. You can always tell who is on the air right away, and I think each one of them has their place. Schein's enthusiasm has its place, and he has a great voice to start a Sunday off with. Kirwin and Ryan are awesome, and I like Brandt and Schottenheimer as well.

Wow. Shein's voice is like sandpaper on my brain.

OMG, I nearly drive into a telephone pole everytime that moron says the name Pey-Un Manning. What is his deal? Is he re-tarded?Also, I love Pat and Tim when "they" talk football. But when they take callers they are very condescending to them. And They are pretty much right no matter what the caller says. Then "T-Rock" will drop a couple of "Bros" on you and I have to turn it to something else. Also they love Brad Childress and I thought they were going to cry the day he got fired.

Also, I love Pat and Tim when "they" talk football. But when they take callers they are very condescending to them.
100% incorrect.
Ok, Bro.
I'm with Raider Nation on this one. If you have a decent argument when you call in they talk it out, but if you are way off and are just plain wrong they will call you out. They have forgotten more about football than most callers know. They tell it like it is - best two to listen to on NFL Radio. A true education.

My absolute favorite part of their show is when a caller hits on two "IFs" in their assessment of their team...happens a lot in the preseason. They get all riled up and start chomping at the bit...caller gets all nervous...a lot of times they still throw out the third "IF'

"Sorry bud, that's three IFs you know the rules...we're going to have to let you go."

Oh, and I like Fridays when the ladies call in...what's the one woman who is I think a Colts fan...Marty? Marnie? I can never tell. She sure sounds hot even though she's probably not.

Anyway...carry on...

I guess I'm in the minority, because I can't listen to most of the shows on NFL Radio, Moving the Chains included. When they are simply talking about football or providing insight, it's a great show. The problem are the callers, who they allow to ramble on and on about their favorite team. It isn't as simple as just asking a question or providing a point, it's 10 minutes of someone blabbing about why the Browns are the best team in the NFL.

Pat Kirwin is the best Football radio host on the air. The guy was a GM for the Jets and he knows stuff, a lot of stuff.

Moving the chains is excellent, and as far as Schein goes he is not my favorite radio guy, but his show is far better than some commercial riddled broadcast crap that talks baseball half the time.

I drive a lot for work and listen to NFL radio constantly, the thing that is funny to me is that they have a show on weekends that I catch every once in a while called press coverage which is hosted by sportswriters and while is gives some media insight I laugh all the time because the sportswriters have about one millionth the football knowledge of Pat Kirwin.

It was getting pretty bad there for a bit when some of the callers thought they were the star of the show. Seems much better recently.

They go out of their way to make callers feel welcome. Because of this, they sometimes hang on to some callers longer than they should when the conversation is going nowhere. They do a pretty good job with the interviews, especially in the off-season when they have prospects on. All in all, they provide some of the best insight out there.

I never shut Sirius NFL radio off... EXCEPT when Schein is on. The only reason he wants callers is to use them to get to his own points. If he agrees it's a "brilliant call" and if not he tries to tear them down. Ross Tucker is the same way, but at least he doesn't have the annoying shtick.

Ryan and Kirwan are great hosts, treat callers as A) people who can comprehend what they are talking about and B) with respect which puts them over Schein or any other NYC sports radio show for that matter.

I loved it when Horowietz started talking about the "Giselle kissing someone other than Tom Brady" story and when he went to PK for a response he said "Yea, we dont care on this show" and changed the topic... gold, absolute gold.

"Just talkin ball" ... the way sports radio should be.

Got Sirus for my bday, and tune to this show every day on the ride home. Really think they are smart, funny, and do a great job

Not bad music either.

WHen the one guy calls in, I forget his name, I think a Steelers or Titans fan I would instantly change the station. He would be on for 5 minutes and just blab- he sounded kind of country boy if I remember correctly.

Yep, it's Adrian. I'm a Steelers fan as well and I'd turn the station as well every time he'd come on. I don't mind Benny in the Bronx. He has a different viewpoint a lot of the time which makes for some interesting discussions.

Benny in the Bronx annoys me to no-end. The guy thinks he is the most knowledgable armchair football GM. Sometimes his points are so ridiculous I have to turn it off, especially when he starts sucking up to them.

"So I wanna tawk about the Packers, okay? This Rodgers guy, okay, he's pretty good, okay?"

Benny is a joke - he's a fan of 3 teams - Packers, Chargers, Giants. I can see having your home team and then maybe rooting for a team in the other conference. But 3 teams means 2 of those will be in the same conference. Dumb.

The Tim thing is odd. He's sick but no one's really saying what's wrong with him.

Tim was off today. He has to be devastated. He and Seau graduated USC together in 1989.

Tweet your good thoughts to him if you are so inclined: @TimRyan99
