For those of us with AP still alive in playoffs (1 Viewer)

Any updates on this?Keep hearing murmurings (such as in this thread) to be on the lookout for a possible scratch. I have Gerhardt but if that were a real possibility I'd just as soon look elsewhere if you have other top-10 RB's at your disposal (and I do).CHI looked bad vs the Pats. The weather may be decent.Maybe Webb presents problems for the Bears defense from a running / scrambling standpoint. The Pats put up great rushing numbers vs the Bears last week. And yeah they were the worst (or close to the worst) rushing defense, but the Buffalo lesson is still fresh in my mind. And like the Biffalo game maybe the Bears will be just as unprepared to handle this QB, if only because there's no real NFL film on the guy. Also Webb was pretty impressive in the preseason.Ad maybe the Vikes get geared up for this thing and amid the cold and pressures of the past two weeks they show up.The current weather forecast: Snow, Temperature: 25°F, Feels like: 13°F, Probability of precip: 70%. These don't sound like impossible conditions to me.
This is a good argument but the fact remains that AP missed practice up until SAT and hasn't gotten 20 carries or been involved in the passing game at all lately. Can we see this changing when the Vikings have nothing to play for and AP is more dinged than usual? My nightmare would be to start him and see Toby split or get the majority of carries and all the 3rd down dump offs. I can't see the Vikings moving the ball much either. In a PPR league, I'm rolling with Blount against the Lions over AP. His ceiling is probably 15-20 carries for a 100 yards and a TD, but it's the playoffs and i can't afford 2-5 points from my RB, especially when my opponent has MJD and Arian Foster. If AP practiced all week and if we didn't see so much of Toby lately, I'd say roll with him despite the matchup and QB situation, but if you have a half-way decent option on the bench, I think you gotta go with it.

ADP vs. Bears, lifetime:

2007

@ Bears 224 and 3 TD

@ Min 78 and 2 TD

2008

@ Bears 121 and 2

@ Min 131 and 1

2009

@ Min 85 and 1

@ Bears 94 and 2

2010

@ Bears 54 and 0

So in that mix, one bad game (albeit this year)

I'm putting him in over DJax (team in sig)

I have him in my dynasty league and don't know what to do with him this week. I could start Fred Jackson or Hightower at RB or go with a 4 man WR set with Fitz, DeSean Jackson, Colston and Britt. My other RB is Chris Johnson. And I, too, have until 1:oo to decide.

One more: ADP after games with < 50 yards

2007 - 2 out of 3 were great

ran for 45 vs. GB

next game: 116 and 2 vs. Det

14 carries for 3 yards vs. SF

next game: 78 and 2 vs. Chicago

9 for 27 vs. was

next game: 11 for 36 vs. Den

2008 only 1 game

21 for 32 vs. NO

next game: 25 for 111 vs. DET

2009 2 for 2

13 for 19 vs. ATL

next game: 97 and 2 TD vs. Cincy

35 and 1 TD vs. Car

next game: 94 and 2 vs. Chicago

2010 1 for 1 (so far)

6 for 36 and 1 TD vs. Wash

next game: 107 and 3 vs. Buffalo

All-in, he's had only 1 game with less than 10 points after a sub-50 yard game

Starting him with confidence now that I see this

Unfortunately that 1 bad game came just a few weeks ago with, IMO, better circumstances at that time then now. :scared:

Where is there any documentation that he will be scratched?

Absolutely none. There's pure speculation only, in this thread and in a couple FF articles I've read (sorry, blew threw them did not keep a link).I have not seen anything that says he would not play.I do have Gerhardt though, just in case.

But Leslie Frazier DOES have something to play for....a head coaching job. And sitting his best player to save him for next year when Frazier won't likely have that job anymore isn't the way to get one.

I think the fact that both starting guards (Herrera and Hutchinson) are out, on top of everything else (Webb, Bears D, etc.) makes the whole situation just seems too iffy for me to rely on AP in the playoffs this year.

I hate to do it, but I am benching Peterson this week. The Bears have been good against the run and Webb is not likely to keep anybody out of the box in his first NFL start. Peterson is an ubertalent, and if anybody can go off in the worst of conditions it is him, but he can be, and has been, stopped plenty of times.

I feel like the Vikings will not sustain any drives and thus won't score much at all. I think the only way they score is with a big play or a short field off of a turnover, and that is not something I want to count on. Certainly Peterson is capable of those big plays, but depending on big plays is a crapshoot.

For the record, I am rolling with Ronnie Brown over Peterson this week. I think Miami runs all day over Buffalo and holds Buffalo to a low score, so Ronnie is going to have 18+ touches against the worst run D.

Peterson's absolute ceiling is much higher, but I think it is very unlikely he reaches it. Ronnie will have more opportunities to score, even sharing time with Ricky. I think it is likely that Peterson and Brown finish withing 5 points of one another, but I like Ronnie's chances of 10+ points much more than Peterson's.

Could be a big mistake... we'll see. I don't think Peterson is a no-brainer this week.

I'm rolling with Torain over him and Blount. I'll report back to eat crow if needed. WTF, I have Rodgers out and Charles and Megatron affected by crappy back up qb play. I feel like I'll go down swinging from my gut.

That might be true, but Frazier still hasn't used AP as a workhorse or in the passing game when they were still alive in the playoffs. 1 Reception the last two weeks. 14 carries last week. Obviously Frazier's player management is something that will effect his chances too, and no one in the Vikings office want to see their star franchise running back being pounded into the ground for no reason. You'll see a lot of Toby again.

ive lost Rodgers Gore Dez as my main starters already, and i want to leave AP in but im going to go with D.Bess, i already feel beaten and dont have a shot and would normally roll with my STUD but i just dont see a great game. Could be wrong and will lose anyway facing this team with Wayne AJ Colsten Wes Brees Drew anyway.

Today is the first time I sat AP since his rookie season where I believe he went off for like 200yrds against Chi. I am hoping history doesn't repeat itself.

I need 5 points from AP and am very nervous. Would love just one TD run like he had that day against CHI.

I sat him and used a 4 WR set inserting Britt in his place. I just didn't want to take a chance on him. Scared the $%^# out of me though.

I need 2 points. 20 yards and no fumbles.....I'm really thinking about throwing Gerhart in but last time I did that Peterson went ape####.I almost wish they would just announce he was out, as of right now I'm living and dieing with him.

I got ADP going vs Forte for a chance to go to the Super Bowl.

Fingers crossed. And I hope Forte just tweaks his ankle in the first quarter and decides it's to cold to continue.

It's on MNF too and it's always nice to have that late game to have something to cheer for if you need points, etc.
Until the inactives list comes out and your stud runningback is on it... That's the tough part of this one. I can see him being a GTD and that's a risky move at this point of the playoffs. That said, I'm not sure I could start the likes of Mike Goodson or Meacham over him regardless.
Luckily I was able to get Gerhart. Hopefully the others were as lucky.

I have ADP in my lineup & will get a big fat 0 from him. So now I have to hope Jared Allen gets shut out, as I'm up by 1.41pts. Not effin likely!!!
