For those who think Haynesworth should be mvp (1 Viewer)

Chase,

Last year(about a year ago) when Haynesworth was out, the Titans allowed 34 to Broncos and 35 to Bengals the following week. He was banged up pretty good today and they allowed 34 to the Jets.

Hang on a sec before you reply well I wouldn't say it was just him being sore or not shaking an injury off because that's exactly how I felt last year. I would definitely figure the Titans could be OK without him or with a weakenned Albert but, for whatever odd reason they just aren't.

From the time he got hurt, the Jets scored 21 in a half which is as much as any team scored in a game the whole year. Going back to that point last year, most in a game when he wasn't hurt was 23.

It's very hard to explain but with a healthy Albert and without a healthy Albert is a night and day difference so I think he is definitively their MVP. I think NFL MVPs should be taken from team MVPs so...
Haynesworth played most of the game and he wasn't the best defensive tackle in the stadium today. Did you not think Jenkins outplayed him?
so we're going to use the worst game the Titans have had in a calendar year as a comparison?Haynesworth 2 tackles, 2 assists, .5 sacks(announcers said Favre run scored as sack on their way to a break but I don't see it as such in sack column. Maybe 1.5 sacks) and a forced fumble

Jenkins 2 tackles 1 assist 0 sacks

Interesting stats. When healthy, I think the Titans have the best(due to depth) DL and OL in the NFL. Otherwise I'd probably go with Minny. Titans can go 7-8 deep on the DL and they're all solid players. Depending on how many are active, throwing everything else out the window, it's just too tough for opposing OLs to stay fresh against the rotation. Titans have had injuries to both starting DEs this year. If Vandenbosch is healthy, that End stat is quickly fixed.
The NYG would disagree.
I love Tuck and Kiwi, mentioned a few DLs in another post as well. Due to depth was my point here. Just starters I'd have to think on it.
You do realize Osi has been out the entire year right? I think that says something for the Giants depth. They lost their best def lineman (all pro)and still have the best rush/pass d line in the NFL

Titans run D has sucked all year ... look up the stats. They are middle of the pack in rushing yards allowed and in the bottom half rush tds allowed. Running backs have had good to very good games every game this year except for Jacksonville in the 1st game of the year and KC when they sucked and LJ was suspended. Otherwise they have been a Fantasy Football RB gold mine.

I did mention the Giants in the other post I was alluding to. Like I said, I'd have to think on it. Jared Allen and the Williams are a nice comparison to Tuck, Osi, and Kiwi. However, is Kiwi a DE if Osi is there? IIRC it was Osi's injury that solidified him as a DE instead of that "experiment"(which I didn't care for) of him playing OLB. Enterring camp, I thought Tuck was inside and Kiwi and Osi would be outside but, Kiwi did still play LB some. Wellllllllll anyhow, rambling, if Kiwi is included I might go Giants but, without Kiwi I'd probably take Minny's 3 excellent DL.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/oti/2008.htmI see six games where an opposing TEAM did not rush for over 100 yards, never mind a player.

The Titans were the #1 D in the NFL for several weeks, at least til week 5. The bye(6) sorta made things helter skelter with some teams having one and others not(for total yards adding up). I don't recall rush D stats back then.

They do get scored upon by RBs. Keep in mind though, they are allowing the least total points a game in the NFL.(Before the 34) 12 or 13 points per game. When it's that low, it's almost like so what if a RB scored the lone TD or two TDs, they held them to so few points they got a W. It's been a year since a team scored 34 on them. I was scrolling back and saw a 21, 21, and 23 as the only scores over 20 in the last calendar year.

It's a good stat you found-RBs scoring but yardage wise I think you're mistaken.
