Foster...has looked studly at times (1 Viewer)

The guy is ALWAYS on the injury report and that has been while sharing time. He had that microfibre knee surgery which increases his risk. And he has ZERO talent at the goaline. Inside the 5 he can't get the ball in the endzone. S. Davis was shown on sideline telling him to put his sholder down. The guy should know this after a fe years in the NFL.I see Foster going in late 2nd early 3rd assuming he is healthy at draft time. In my opinion this will be a big mistake whoever drafts him.Thoughts?

But he can break off a long TD run at just about any time. Perhaps he will work on his goal line running during the off season & camp next season.

Until we know where Foster will play, it's impossible to predict how well he does. He is not signed for next year and turned down the Panthers most recent contract offers.

:D :fishing:
Actually, the problem for Foster his entire football career has been his knack for getting hurt. IIRC, he missed time in high school, missed more time in college, and obviously has been banged up in the NFL. And he's had a variety of injuries from head to toe, so it's not like he's had the same injury flare up several times. If you believe in the injury risk concept, Foster is not a guy you want on your fantasy team.

Didn't anyone learn from KJones or McGahee last year that a small sample size does not really ensure much of anything the following year? And speaking of Panthers, Nick Goings did as good or better than Foster did to close out last year, so I'm not sure we can conclude much of anything. Goings had 645 rushing yards, 152 receiving yards, and 6 TD over a 6-game stretch to end 2004.

Good point. For all we know, Eric Shelton may wind up producing the same numbers in 2006, and the cycle begins again.

I didn't say that I expect him to be a stud, just that his numbers as a whole over the last 6 games were impressive. I acknowledged that he did well in 2 of the games and not so well in 4 of them, but I simply questioned how much of that might have been due to OL struggles because I didn't watch enough to have an opinion myself. To me, his only questions have come about his durability, but he went those 6 games averaging just over 20 carries and a few catches per game. Sure, he appeared on the injury report, but he played every game and didn't really see a reduced workload because of it.Watching them play, I think there's a pretty big talent gap between Foster and Goings, but you're free to disagree with that if you want. I believe the offensive line was playing much better at the end of 2004 than it was in 2005.It'll be interesting to see if the Panthers bring him back to compete with Shelton next year. My guess is that his best opportunity will come from the Panthers and he'll end up staying with a chance to be the starter next year.
