Shaved steak from the grocery store meat counter should be fine imo. Sliced steak can get that rubbery steakumm texture even if it's a good cut but shaved steak gets pretty tender no matter what cut you use. What kind of meat did you use
I've found that if you sear whatever cut you want to use you can get it sliced pretty thin.Shaved steak from the grocery store meat counter should be fine imo. Really dumb question - where do you buy rolls connected
If you buy them pre-made/pre-packaged they will be connected. Something like Kings Hawaiian.Really dumb question - where do you buy rolls connected

Try the Mongolian beef recipe!!Cheesesteak sliders belong in the 'Overrated Foods' thread.
Made them the other night. Meh. Incredibly plain even with adding some pepperoncini to it.

Just finished this. Great sauce and tremendously tender meat.
Good to know. I think i would pre cook the peppers and onions anyways, so maybe fry them up with the shaved steak in a frying pan with a little soy sauce or teriyaki to give them some flavor.Cheesesteak sliders belong in the 'Overrated Foods' thread.

I make oven baked subs quite often which is probably the reason for the let down. IMO, you're better off getting a loaf of garlic bread and loading it up with your choice of deli meats, cheese, veggies, peppers, mustard, etc. Tons more flavor and don't have to **** around pre-cooking a steak.Good to know. I like the idea of the base recipe - pull apart sliders baked with a little brushed on butter. Then you just tinker.
