Fred Taylor (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure what you're asking but I would consider Taylor to have value and would look for him as a mid-round pick. I think if he's there around the 6th-7th round and I'm looking for a 3rd RB, I'd be really excited to get him there. 4th to the 5th round, I'd think that I'm reaching a bit.

Basically, he has little upside. Best case scenario he does about the same as last year. Worst case, he gets supplanted as the starter or turnes into more of an RBBC.

Unless he pulls a Curtis Martin from 2004, his days of being an RB1 or RB2 are likely over. As an RB3 for bye-weeks he is probably right about there.

I could see if I went WR and QB heavy in the first couple of rounds, I'd be looking at him around the same time I'm looking at Curtis Martin to stabalize a RB light team a bit. Usually there are one or two squads in a draft who find themselves light at RB around the 5th round, and that's probably where and to whom Taylor will go.

:goodposting: This is the same way I am thinking. I would use him as a #3RB/bye week fill in but there is still some value. I also think the real competition is going to come from Greg Jones and not Drew. The coaching staff likes Greg Jones and thinks he will become the heir to the Jacksonville RB job when Fred Taylor leaves/retired/gets hurt again.

Where did you hear that? Why do you think they drafted Drew in the 2nd if they were sold on Jones - there are already plenty of backs on the roster - Pearman, Toefield, Wimbush... When I read between the lines, I don't see how Jones has it all locked up.

Drew has to have a shot.

The Jones quote about him being the favorite is based on reading articles about him:Link 1

But also more importantly my brother has a friend who works for Cingular Wireless and helped with the senior bowl last year last year. He went out to dinner several times with some of the coaches and talked to them about Fred Taylor and his injuries over the part few years. During this conversation the RB coach for the Jags thought that Greg Jones was a beast and if given the opportunity to start full time be would become a start.

5.11 Taylor, Fred

Fred is still the man in Jacksonville and he makes a very nice 3rd RB for me at the end of the 5th round. He's healthy coming into the season and it's been a while since he can make that claim. Hopefully he can continue his good health and put up better than #3 RB numbers.

Sabertooth = FT owner in a dynasty.

He cost me dearly last season. I traded for him the week he got hurt and too late to handcuff Jones. Then he got hurt big ####### surprise.
