Free agent/Trade TRACKING THREAD (2 Viewers)

According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, the Dolphins have emerged as the favorites to land free agent Ahmad Bradshaw."I've been hearing a lot of momentum about Bradshaw to Miami," reported La Canfora Wednesday afternoon. DeAngelo Williams just knocked it out of the park with a ridiculous contract from the Panthers, and Bradshaw should be able to come pretty close. The Fins are being highly aggressive today, targeting their new feature back and new starting quarterback (likely Kyle Orton).

weddle stays in SD

davidcanter @david canterCongratulations to DEC MANAGEMENT client Eric Weddle on becoming the highest paid safety in NFL history. San Diego Super Chargers
Chargers agreed to terms with FS Eric Weddle on a five-year, $50 million contract with $19 million guaranteed. It's the richest contract for a safety in league history. Though Chargers fans haven't been satisfied with Weddle's turnover rates -- he has six interceptions in four seasons -- he's arguably the best run-support free safety in football and not usually a liability in pass coverage. San Diego has an extremely good-looking secondary on paper with Weddle and Bob Sanders "inside," and Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer on the corners. Now, they need to generate a better pass rush

Probably so. With the big name off the board at RB, they have to be looking at bringing him back or they really have nothing at the position.

Panthers sign TE Ben Hartstock to 2 year deal

Saints sign former Seahawks LB Will Herring to 3 year deal

Clayton says skins going after Braylon and Sidney Rice
I dont think Shanny has the patience to develop a WR at this point in time. And I KNOW Snyder doesn't.Having said that they'll probably give Edwards a fat contract he doesn't deserve and wonder why they aren't successful. Yikes.Out of those 2 if they dont get Rice, it's gonna be a tough yr for Skins fans.

S. Moss, Armstrong, Gaffney, StallworthCertainly there aren't signing both and I doubt now they sign either

I cant remember a year in Denver that Shanny went into a season with that bad a rec corps. Not one.And the NFC East is a lot tougher div than those years in the AFC West. He's gonna get somebody.

K Olindo Marae to Carolina on a 4 year 12 mil. deal with 4 mil signing bonus
FOR KICKING A FOOTBALL.Terribly, I might add.
Terribly? He's been one of the best kickers in the league the past few years. Not saying he's necessarily worth it, just saying he's a good kicker.
I don't mind the $, I am just perplexed at the team.I mean I see CAR as a team who will be picking at the upper part of the draft next year, I would expect this kind of kicker money to go to a playoff caliber team

They have a huge gap to make up with the new cap floor.

Yea, I figured that, guess I would have just spent on something that could be more valueable long term.Like a WR to help your rookie QB? OL to protect your QB, FB to protect your QB etc...

Agreed. The Skins still have Malcolm Kelly, who was injured (again) last year. And they also drafted 3 wr's, so they've certainly upgraded their wr core from last season, when Joey Galloway was starting at one point.

I cant believe as a skin fan that you wanna go into 2011 with these guys. I've seen how fired up you get.Who do you really want? I mean a guy that could reasonably be acquired?

Good point about the cap AND they are likely to be a team with a LOT of FG attempts with that run offense stalling

You'd think so, right? IDK, even with ~30M to go to get to the floor, there certainly seems like there would be better ways to spend it. Vinatieri wasn't worth it, imo, so there's no f'n way Mare is.

@ClaytonESPN: Dolphins looking at resigning Ronnie Brown.
The Ronnie Brown news started to boil up after the Dolphins already spoke with Bradshaw and Barber. I suspect Ronnie is just being used for leverage in negotiations with Bradshaw and Barber. Barber will likely agree to terms by the end of the day but I don't see the Dolphins paying Bradshaw what he wants in the end.

I think they would. From jeff Darlingotn via Twitter:I just spoke to RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who said Giants and Dolphins are at top of his list: "I can't say either team has the upper hand."

Bradshaw telling a Miami reporter that the dolphins are still in it is not exactly unexpected.I can almost see his agent whispering in his ear.

If Bradshaw goes to Miami then what do the Giants do? Have to think they would bring in more than a 29 year old Jacobs. Maybe they trade for Goodson, or even better my boy Tyrell Sutton.

From Jets beat writer Manish Mehta:

GM Mike Tannenbaum's creativity on display. #Jets Santonio Holmes will only count $2.45M against 2011 cap. $1M base salary, per source
Perhaps there is room for Nnamdi after all.
