Free agent/Trade TRACKING THREAD (1 Viewer)

Saying these two teams are in the same league together is akin to me saying, neither Leonardo Dicaprio or I have slept with Cindy Crawford, so we're about even.... The baseline of no SB Trophies is a pretty ridiculous line to draw in the sand and say, we;re both on the same side of that line.
Still defensive...for no reason. You stated what you thought was a fact, I said you were wrong. As for the two teams having the same pedigree, what does that have to do with this discussion? I asked why the poster made that comment in regards to THIS trade, I still haven't been given a reason other than your 3rd grade like defensive nature stating the Eagles NFC East triumphs.
If you didn't make the original comment about checking the trophy cases, then why get defensive when I call that a stupid argument? Why not just move on after pointing out my mistake on the NFC West crowns? Oh that's right, you needed to call the kettle black a couple of times about being defensive. That's fine. That being said, the check the trophy case argument is ridiculous. Trading so much and then paying so much for a guy who is not much different than Matt Moore is ridiculous which is why the Cardinals are a horribly run organization and always will be as long as the Bidwells have a hand in running the team, and the Eagles have six NFC East crowns in 10 years. I hope he plays better for the Cards than he did for the Eagles, but something tells me he's not going to be the next Aaron Rodgers who held the clipboard for a few years and then stepped in to be a stud. For the Arizona fans, I hope I'm wrong.
Hate to point out how wrong you are (again) but I didn't make the trophy case comment. All I did was point out that your facts were wrong...you brought up trophies. Thanks for playing.
Like I just said above, if you didn't make the trophy case argument, that someone else did earler, then why get all bent out of shape about it? I admitted I was wrong on the NFC West crowns and reiterated that the trophy case argument was ridiculous which was what my original comment was in reference too. I was still talking to the guy that made the trophy comment but you had to take it as an attack on you, which it was not intended but I can see where you might get that, and then you got defensive and hypocritically called out me for being defensive. Hey, we're all hypocritical from time to time. No big deal. And now you're telling me I;m wrong. Reread what I wrote. I said, "IF you didn't make the trophy case comment, then why get all bent out of shape." I didn't say, "YOU made the trophy case comment." I was wrong about the NFC west titles. I defended my stance. You hypocritically called me out on it and made a mistake by calling me wrong when you had a problem with reading comprehension. Seems maybe we should both walk away from this one. How about it?

greg olsen to the panthers!

AdamSchefter Adam Schefter More deals! Chicago Tribune reporting that Bears traded TE Greg Olsen to Panthers for a player to be named later and a draft pick.

This is good for Olsen. he'll make a fine backup TE in redraft, I bet.
Now who will Cutler throw to?
I don't know, but there is still a ton of WRs out there. Everyone is yapping about them losing their receivers, but no one liked those guys anyway. Martz offense calls for TEs to block, Olsen was always a square peg in a round hole there.

They will find WRs. They went to the playoffs with Bennett and Aromatherapy, you can't tell me they have to have studs out there. That offense throws the WRs open, and Martz is looking for smaller, shifty guys, which are easier to find now, as everyone else is looking for the big guys.

It's not ideal right now, for sure, but I don't think we can call the WR corps there dead until FA ends. Heck, it hasn't even started yet.

John McClain

Texans are 1 of 3 teams that are finalists for FA S Danieal Manning, who played the last 5 years with the Bears.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about the Giants Steve Smith yet.

No link--heard on Sirius that Smith signed a 1 year deal with the Giants

Fanatic, I made the trophy case statement and I never meant for it to blow up like this. Lotta guys hammering on the Cards over this deal and it's unwarranted. Cardsfan is excited about his team getting better and all he gets is boos raining down. Saying "this is why the eagles are the eagles and the cardinals are the cardinals" is out of date imo.Since young Bidwill took over and hired Whisenhunt they've made a lot of good moves. There's plenty to get excited about. Certainly the Eagles have been better over the last decade but that statement felt like piling on.Anyway that's why I used that old line and it's not worth the time and energy to get upset about it. You're a very good poster and I regret getting you riled up about it. Especially on a fun day like today. My apologies.BTW. Love the grillin blog and plan on doing the grilled peppers saturday. Thanks for the tutorial.

Ditto those thoughts since my comment kicked this whole mess off. It was more about Kolb (I think he's awful) than the Cards, but I'm sorry it prompted a flame war. Especially here in an awesome thread.

So... 73 free agents signed so far, and the team with the most cap room, the Bucs, have so far only re-signed LB Quincy Black.

You would think with 400+ FAs, that more would have agreed already.Tomorrow at 6pm, I suspect a lot of teames will announce deals that are already done at this point.

Nnambi has a legit shot at being a Jet!
I think we can mark it down!
I think the 49ers are still in it.Though I have to wonder if maybe the Texans figured Asomugha was just using them to up the Jets offer and so bailed out when Joseph was willing to sign.
What are the chances the Lions will now make a serious play, since their only targets have not signed with them? they have some room to spend.

I get that feeling too about the Texans. They make the best move they can make. Good decision making, that's how you improve. I'm really starting to become a fan of that organization. It's all about making good decisions.

Joseph got 5 years, $48.75m with $23.5m guaranteed total, though signing bonus is $12.5m.

Heard the Bucs are in on it now too...Aso that is
Speaking of organizations making good decisions... Bucs officially my non-homer favorite team. Freeman at #17, Mike Williams in the 4th, Blount as a FA, Allen Bradford in the 6th, saving your big FA pitches for sure things. Really love what these guys are doing.
