Had a small spike yesterday after 1.5 days of extreme bad decision making

No big deal. Sticking to the plan.

Traveling 2.5 days for work now. Much harder for me to make good decisions, but trying to pre-plan meals so that I don’t fall prey to decision fatigue.

Protein bars and Ostrim sticks save me calories and money especially in airports
Yep. I traveled today with a protein bar and a raisin/bran muffin that my wife baked, which was made using applesauce instead of butter……

Leg day #7 for 2025 has been completed. Skipped workouts on Fri/Sat due to feeling under the weather (probably acquired something at the gym, would be my guess). Anyway, back in full-swing as of today.

I'm at 5'11", 195 lbs today after being at 265 two years ago. Long process. I took some meds for a while (~6 months) that trimmed 20 lbs. The rest has been on my own. Didn't really change anything other than eating far less. But the GLP1 served to show me how little I needed to eat.

Another solid week. Nothing crazy on the eating front but slightly more calories per day. No cheat day per se but branched out a little bit from Chipotle. Still pretty much a chicken breast for dinner. Started walking 16 flights of stairs at work in addition to the lunch walks.

I'm pretty sure my poor skin is having some kind of reaction to the crappy diet I chuck down my gullet, so it's time to get back into moderate fitness (I like to walk) and better eating habits. I really like chicken breasts or white fish, usually with a side of mixed veggies. I'm pretty simple. Gonna really cut back on the fast food. My bloodwork came back pretty good from my physical a month or so back, but something's gotta be done. Just posting here to memorialize and I'll check back in a month or two to see how things are going.

When I cut out bread, pasta and most sugar, my skin started to glow. It's amazing how toxic that stuff is.

What did you eat?

Primarily meat/fish (chicken, turkey, steak, tuna, salmon), eggs (white and whole), salads/veggies, fruit, rice (brown and jasmine), quinoa, potatoes (sweet and normal), greek yogurt (Fage and Siggis), protein shakes/bars with the occasional cheat day mixed in.

Been doing really good with exercise and diet but I had 2 work dinners this week and broke my drinking - both were unexpected, and I just don't pass up free food and drink.

I've hit a plateau for 10 days - been 172 or 173 since 1/20. Hope is to lose about 15-20 pounds of fat and add maybe 10 or so of muscle.

1 month of my new journey

I know arbitrary but 219 by 2/1 slightly in reach :)

1/6 228.4
1/13 225.6
1/21 223.6
1/27 221.8
1/30 221.6

12.4 pounds. That's a big win.

And I can take a bunch of enemas to hit 219 by Saturday!!!!! I kid

Need to up the exercise a bit now. Back feeling better
Congrats! Great job and keep moving forward!

For me, I would hit those same plateaus. What I found worked for me is to have a "cheat" day once every 8-10 days. Not going crazy and eating 4K calories, but letting my body know "food is available" and it seemed to take it out of starvation mode. I would see a momentary tick up, then a good decline again.

One more day and I'll have been alcohol free for the entire 31 days of January and with a significantly reduced THC intake. Sleeping way better. Exercised (either cardio, weights, or golf) probably 25 of the days. Cut way down on bad late night snacking. I did fall off with simple sugars the last week or two.

Plan to tighten up diet come Monday.

Great job! Just do the next right thing!

Weigh-in tomorrow after 3 days of travel and a couple big meals. Not looking forward to whatever the number on the scale will be!!
Whatever it is, I know you will be able to right the ship quickly! You are easily one of the most disciplined people we have here!
You are too kind. I’ve been a bit lax the past week and need to lean back into what works for me. Thx for the encouragement!

Giving up the booze is such a critical element. So many empty and unnecessary calories. I also gave up the THC a few years back. I miss those nights when I could just pop in a 500mg edible and relax but I definitely make better eating decisions and more active without it.

:lmao: we've had this discussion before but if I had 500 mgs I'd literally be on another planet. I know some people can tolerate THC better than others but this is like beyond Andre the Giant's massive alcohol consumption without it really impairing him.

I generally take 5 mgs max (half of a basic gummie) and that still gives me the munchies but relaxes me plenty.

Good stuff!!!

Did my weigh in this Friday. Was up 0.4 lbs from when I left on my work trip.

Sticking to the gameplan. Gotta get in two workouts today. Walked 4 miles and played basketball yesterday. Took wife to dinner — we split a salad and a burger.

Taking small steps each day to get healthier. But also finding it hard to motivate myself to work out today!! :)

I definitely hit a slight plateau. I've been holding steady for about a week now. Yesterday was car path only so I got a good 5-6 miles in and today I did a slight squat stretch workout so slowly but steady. Adding some more exercise

If you are running a calorie deficit, have you had a "cheat day"? I found a good cheat day results in a small bump but takes the body out of starvation mode, usually helps me through the plateaus.

Natural is always better, at least in my mind. I might not be right, but we are a a nation of short cuts which fuels big pharma.

My personal experience... I knew I was vastly over weight. I did like 3 months of extensive research before starting my journey

The first step was to get my gut biome in check. I did this by eating fermented foods, real fermented foods . No shelf store pickles, I started eating raw, live, unpasteurized pickles for Olive my Pickle. Drinking 4 ounces of brine a day. After a month, I started to eat super clean. The results were amazing, I became so sensitive to sugar and sodium. The bland taste of the food went away after 3-4 days.

End result, I went from 210 to 138 in less than a year. -72 pounds or almost 40% of my body weight. I'm at 5.5% body fat right now. This is with no increase in exercise.

And, my food spending is probably 35%-40% lower when I wasn't eating clean.

Just my personal experience.

5.5%. That’s insanely low. Are you just totally ripped now?

How old and how tall are you?

Still down 1 pound for the week. Total in 5 weeks, 13.2 so that's 2.64 a week. Not bad

I have one month before my trip. Would love to hit 204 I know not likely but a 209 would be magical.

My end goal is just hitting a 179. Then I'd settle in at 185ish and be happy

I always carried a lot of muscle mass

I could but do not want to lose anymore weight, I'm at the maintain phase right now, i'Ill fluctuate a few pounds here and there but mostly rissiding in this zone

Well, I briefly passed the 25 pound weight loss mark with a huge unexpected drop. Quickly followed by a spike up before dropping again this morning. I attribute it to just typical fluctuations and having a few days of :poop: stored up. I've been taking a fiber supplement but just picked up some pre and probiotics, we'll see if that helps with overall gut stuff.
