Wow, I'd love trying Fudgie the Whale beer.

I saw this one at the local beer store today:

I really wanted to try it... but it was $40 for a 22 oz. bottle.  D'oh!

Chocolate notes go surprisingly well with dark-malted beers like stouts. Local brewer Dixie put out White Moose chocolate stout in the '90s ... it was pretty darned tasty. Not syrupy or dessert-sweet at all -- the chocolate stayed in the background a bit as a complement to the beer's flavor.

i believe Dixie White Moose was rated as one of the absolute worst beers ever made

eta: not to say that a chocolate stout, etc. can't be awesome but maybe Dixie White Moose isn't the best example?

Oh well  ... mine was pretty good. Maybe it was somewhat volatile, and couldn't be stored for as long as typical beers?
