Meanwhile, Jennings' hamstring passed the test the medical staff administered Thursday, and he should practice today.

"His whole deal is how he feels in the morning," McCarthy said. "I told him, 'Call me as soon as you get up.' "

.......

Once again, halfback Vernand Morency experienced soreness in his right knee after practicing on Wednesday, so he's expected to miss his seventh straight game (including preseason).

McCarthy said Morency would "be out there playing" if it were a playoff game but "another week or two (off) will help him."

"I think he clearly can see the light at the end of the tunnel," McCarthy said.

Was this post sarcastic? What is promising about 2 hamstrings and a knee issue? 2nd hamstring of course is Jones... so 2 WR's out and the starting RB? The only light the Packers are seeing is the soft lighting in the doctors office.

Hamstrings are nothing promising and can linger... Not good... and this knee looks like its at least 2 weeks out... if not more...

Thank God the D is looking good.

When you have 9 people on IR and 18 on the injury list any play is promising.

 Especially when there's been rumors of Morency to IR, it's the quote about "if this was the playoffs, he'd play" is somehow reassuring. Could be simply coach speak, but there's certainly worse messages we could be hearing from McCarthy given the injury situation he's working with right now.
