If Shuke is John Hancock, think of MT as Merlin. He's got powers beyond any mere poster and can alter reality as you know it. He can make you disappear for an instant or forever. He advises the king of the realm and he has spoken already. Wake the Dragon at your own risk.Bigboy (ironic name for the person shift away from gay romance) was not the founder of this thread. Shuke is our John Hancock, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson all rolled up into one person here.april 10th is when this went from gay love affair thread to tv threadHow about we make THIS the TV thread? Who's in?!
He's Roose Bolton's ******* and he reported back to Robb that WInterfell had been burnt with no survivors foundI can't remember many disappointing GoT episodes, but this was top notch stuff this week. Every scene was great. Awesome episode.
Can someone remind me where we left off with Theon? I was surprised they didn't have it in the recap in the beginning. I remember he fake killed the Stark boys and I remember Robb had sent someone to take back Winterfell, but wasn't there something fishy about that guy? Did that guy take back Winterfell and is he the one that has Theon now, or did we not see Theon get captured onscreen and still don't know who his captors are?
Glad to see him getting tortured either way.
This part is still pretty confusing. Why would they lie about having found Theon? What kind of info are they trying to get from him? Did they burn Winterfell or was it Theons accomplices? He's Roose Bolton's ******* and he reported back to Robb that WInterfell had been burnt with no survivors found In reality they found Theon and are doing what Boltons do to prisonersI can't remember many disappointing GoT episodes, but this was top notch stuff this week. yes i think it was one of the questions from the season finale many of us had. Who took theon? I still have no clue who has him trapped now. Im not sure they did a good job explaining or maybe they didnt explain yetHe's Roose Bolton's ******* and he reported back to Robb that WInterfell had been burnt with no survivors found In reality they found Theon and are doing what Boltons do to prisonersI can't remember many disappointing GoT episodes, but this was top notch stuff this week. Right, they really haven't explained it. I rewatched S2 and it is not clear at all.yes i think it was one of the questions from the season finale many of us had. Who took theon? Robb Stark, at the request of Roose Bolton, sent Roose's ******* sin to liberate winterfell. Robb said to offer all the Greyjoy men freedom to return to the iron islands, except he wanted Theon so he could behead him himself. Roose said that the Greyjoy men would turn theon over as soon as they heard the offer. The Bolton ******* had winterfell surrounded. Theon went nuts with a horn playing all the time. Theon gave a great pre-battle speech and then his own men knocked him out and bagged his head to turn him over to Bolton. Then we just saw that everybody in winterfell was killed and the place burned. So we assume Bolton ******* still has theon and they sacked winterfell for some reason.Right, they really haven't explained it. , I think the opposite is happening in this season compared to season 1. Here I think the scenes not in the book (or what I remember not being in there) are the weak link and at the beginning I thought some of the TV only scenes were some of my favorites.I dunno about that. It seemed to me that, armed with Sansa's info about Joffrey, she manipulated that meeting to make Joffrey want to watch her kill something. She set it up so that one of Joffrey's character defects was appealed to. She only looked nervous for a second when he mentioned making homosexual behavior a hanging offense, because of dear brother Loras. Otherwise, she looked like she took that whole situation and turned it into making Joffrey want her more, which = more power for her. That old woman was awesome. It looks like margeary wanted to kill joffrey. Great scene
It looked like she got pissed off when he mentioned making homosexuality punishable by death cuz of her brother. And then she implied shed love to be on one end of the crossbow by killing something on the other endI dunno about that. I agree. She's got Joff right where she wants him right now.I dunno about that. Yeah, just like I said, she's playing to the monster to start to really get control over him. She had him in a near mindless tizzy by the end of it. That wasn't pissed off, that was nervousness/fear, over, as I said, the possible fate of Loras. Then she went back into seduction mode. She's done nothing but manipulate since she got the proposal. Giong to the orphans was a way to gain support for her, not for the King, among the little people. It looked like she got pissed off when he mentioned making homosexuality punishable by death cuz of her brother. Agreed. But Tyrion has been bumming me out now that he's a lovesick puppy. He's lost his mojo.Jaime Lannister always cracks me up. He's such an enigma.
I thought that was a great scene. Not only did it reenforce that Brienne can fight, more importantly it showed how weak Jaime has become - he can't back up the talk at this point. For me the weak link was the final scene - thought the Brianne vs. Jamie fight was a little slow and didn't seem to carry much weight for me.

Sorry if this is considered a spoiler: a healthy Jaime puts Brienne down even when wearing those manacles.well he was still wearing handcuffsI thought that was a great scene. I loved him being proven right on the slaughter of innocents too. If she'd murdered that guy with the cart, they'd still be marching toward King's landing. That's the type of moral ambiguity that hooked me on the novels. Even Jaime tossing Bran out the window can be seen an act of mercy on the kingdom if you look at the big picture.Gr00vus said:Sorry if this is considered a spoiler: a healthy Jaime puts Brienne down even when wearing those manacles.shadyridr said:well he was still wearing handcuffsGr00vus said:I thought that was a great scene. Don't think it's a spoiler, but better safe than sorry with this thread.EYLive said:I hope Joff and Margery get married this season.
I've only read the books that have already been covered by the previous seasons, but it seems over and over that anyone who tries to do "the right thing" pays for that choice. The prevailing message seems to be that nobility and altruism are punished in this world, while those with guile and shifting loyalties always prevail because they are adaptable.I loved him being proven right on the slaughter of innocents too. Haha! Yeah, sometimes my fingers get a little too fast I guess.Slider, spoiler tags are only effective if you spell "spoiler" accurately in both the beginning and end tags.![]()
I know he knows that he would beat her....but I thought the he acknowledged in the books that despite being in prison for a year and not cuffed....that she would have been a tough nut to crack....Gr00vus said:Sorry if this is considered a spoiler: a healthy Jaime puts Brienne down even when wearing those manacles.shadyridr said:well he was still wearing handcuffsGr00vus said:I thought that was a great scene. For sure. It's slow because "knightly" fighting with those giant swords is pretty damn slow.KarmaPolice said:Really liked a lot of the episode. Also good: no Dany or Stannis, as they are my least favorite plot lines going. Bad: no Littlefinger - he is probably the character I am most interested in seeing the character arc for. He is always seemingly off to the side, but of everybody he seems to know what he is doing/has an endgame in mind (I guess him and Joffrey's bride-to-be).

speak for yourself. This is a show that killed off its main star 8 episodes into its fist season.I thought the sword fight at the end was awesome. Sure, we knew neither was going to be seriously harmed.
He did seem to really enjoy having that sword back in his right hand again.I thought the sword fight at the end was awesome. Sure, we knew neither was going to be seriously harmed. However, just seeing Kingslayer get a sword in his hand and his enjoyment of getting to fight again was a thrill. It's going to be a great combo now that they are a tag team. I doubt there is another pair in the realm that can beat them.

Well I didn't know, but it just didn't feel like it was right for either character to go down. Both have so much more that they can accomplish within the story. As for Ned, the only reason we thought he would escape was because "that is what is supposed to happen" in these epic tales. If you look at the facts of the story, Ned was a clear dead man.speak for yourself.
