Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (3 Viewers)

Starting S2E2 in my rewatch binge. Really helpful to reinforce these characters with a refresher in all the political shenanigans and how things spiraled out of control.

Just to address the re-watching aspect it's amazing how much you can pick up that you missed the first time around. Or maybe it's just me not being as attentive a viewer as I think I am. :) But I've been re-watching some earlier seasons to get prepped for the next one and there have been a bunch of things I just missed watching everything the first time. So much depth and so many layers on this show.
Yeah, my wife and I just re-watched all six seasons over the last month, and it's super helpful.  I missed so much the first time around.  Strongly recommend.

Second time through and I'm still not clear about the Boltons. When sh!t started going down, who were they initially aligned with and where are they located? I figure it's generally northwards, somewhere between Winterfell and the Iron Islands.

Love Imp's rallying speech at the battle of Blackwater Bay. (probably not word for word) "Those are brave men out there beating at our door. Let's go kill them."

Roose Bolton gets a lot more play in the bo... in that written thing that doesn't exist. I'm trying to remember but I believe he was head of Harrenhall where Arya and Hot Pie and them were on their journey.

Boltons were aligned with the Starks. Lord Bolton was Robs right hand man. He sold him out for land and titles.

It is. We pretty much do an episode and a half after we put the kids down and while we make and eat dinner. So basically 8:00-9:30ish most nights is game of thrones.

Yeah, we that cool.

I should have started earlier, but I began a rewatch from the beginning last night. It's going to take a lot of ignoring sleep and my family, but I think I can get through it before the debut. Just need to knock out 4 eps a day.

The GOT geeks have made some great interactive maps. Here's one: https://quartermaester.info/

From the very start of Season 3 you can see Twyin busy writing letters. He was putting his plan into motion with those letters and they were going to Bolton and Frey.

The Rains of Castamere is on now. Still makes me uneasy watching the buildup to the wedding.

The Lannisters send their regards...

Wait till he gets to season 5 and he sees what a Bran is capable of doing. Bran in season 5 has to rank up there in tv's best characters.
I think I zoned out anytime that guy was on the screen.  Besides the cool flashback that we were all waiting to see, he has been dull for the whole show.  Honestly don't see what his character is going to bring to the ending and final battles.

You must watch season 5 again because Bran was the highlight from that season.

just watched it. Anybody who says Game of Thrones is not the best series ever on TV needs to watch some of these again. Not saying it is a lock, but hard to argue against

We will agree to disagree.  I don't think his powers or story are all that interesting.

He is one of my least favorite of the series, and I am not sure why you'd think he is a great all time tv character.

I'm surprised that you didn't like Bran in season 5. His story arc is top notch. It and his acting was critically acclaimed. I think you need to watch season 5 again. You have two weeks.

Are you just making this up now?  Besides Hardhomme from most what I hear and read this this most people's least favorite season of the show.  I didn't like much, so I am in no rush to rewatch that season, although I am sure I will at some point.  Honestly this is the first time I think I've heard of somebody thinking Bran is a top 10 character on the show let alone all time.

How about this - what do you think is so interesting about this character and what does he bring to the show.

Basically I just see him as a conduit to show us things from the past that we probably know or think to be true.  While I love the idea of seeing some things from the past on the show, he does nothing that couldn't be accomplished through a dream sequence or a Raven from another character.  (I am under the assumption that characters like LF and V also might know info that was revealed in the ToJ flashback - and wasn't that S6 anyway?)

And yes, I think there is a high probability that you are trolling me, but nerding out and having ifights about GoT is amusing

I forgot and am super psyched to be reminded about your kids

Our life is no different, except I can't convince the wife to rewatch GoT

I would hate to waste a wish if i ever had a Genie grant me 3 wishes, but watching a lot of these battles i would be tempted to use 1 wish to eradicate all guns and firearms from our civilization. Battles are so much cooler

Just started Season 5, should be all the way through 6 before 7 starts.

Just loaded the dvr for Hardhome which is season 5 ep 8, right through the end of season 6. Should take me just the right amount of time until the premier.
